For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FK _ i did that once She looked at the pic, laughed and said: ''OK, quit messing, where's my real present....'''

I can't believe I have just spent £15 on a fecking bar of soap! (Chanel, for her)
And some posh choc covered cinder toffee (which she loves) and a nice helebore.

TooTicky · 16/02/2009 17:20

Molly you are too nice.

OsmosisBanana · 16/02/2009 17:39

Yay! M&D have bought me a car stereo for my birthday! I can pick it up tomoroow! I shall no longer be in silence driving to Bath every day.

Well, silence except for the sound of my head thwacking the steering wheel trying to drown out the sound of DD demanding sweets.

Molly - We got a similar reaction from SD one xmas when we decided to sponsor a child as one of her presents. In fairness to her, she was 8. Not so interested in hungry children needing schooling, more interested in nintendo games

mollyroger · 16/02/2009 17:40

I'vemade her sound horrid - she's not, just bloody hard to buy presents for....

AtillaTheHoney · 16/02/2009 18:19

lolol!!.....cheers Toot..

'We' are having a blazing row (DS and DD) about whether lyrics are 'chip diddee chip' or 'chip derdee chip'

aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!

where did I put my running shoes?! ...what confrontation issues?

Well the bottle says two portions so...

Tomatoes x2
onions
peppers,
peas,
carrots,
banana,
plums,
kiwis,
mango,
juice,
pear,
smoothies x2 (says 2 portions on each bottle though?)

hello, have had a lovely conversation with someone at a place called young minds
i found them on the net
they deal with children's mental health problems and they are getting a psychy person to ring me for a free 50 min consultation, on how to help ds1 with his anxiety / worrying type stuff
how fab!
will report back but sounds very good
i am so pleased i might be able to make things easier for him
i told the woman i had similar issues as a child and feel very cross no-one helped me, and how guilty i feel about ds1 having similar problems now, and she pointed out he WASN'T going to have similar problems because someone WAS helping him

aibu to be a bit about the 'storytelling' sessions at a local museum? we always go along and it is always the same 2 re-enactment blokes who are getting paid to dress up and hit each other with pretend swords
this is my 5 year olds idea of heaven but i would have thought MOST adult men may have moved on slightly
they don't tell stories, they just gush about how amazing the weapons were and insert grisly details (eg today the axe would have split a man in two and cut his horse's head right off)
now i know it is always them i am not going anymore
they just do different costumes and call themselves something different
they are quite

have also: read fab children's art book which includes gilbert and george ROFL
ds1 very impressed esp when i said they sold photos of their poo
now that's a proper grown up job, not growing your hair long and chasing one another with sticks

Young Minds thing sounds useful Franny.
It is great that you are doing something. When will s/he ring?

I have SAT DOWN which is a mistake, as now I don;t think I can get up again to get DS into bed.

FrayedKnot · 16/02/2009 18:54

Don;t talk to me...DS got 8 new library books today so I must go!

Having real ishoos here with bombs and guns and shooting atm

And calling peple "stinky"

FrannyandZooey · 16/02/2009 18:58

oh guns a gogo here fk
i have theory it is all about feeling defenceless - boys seem so screwed up for want of a better phrase
they are vulnerable and spend their lives trying to protect themselves in whatever way they can - big fuck off weapons featuring highly

FrannyandZooey · 16/02/2009 19:00

The majority of the male species never grow out of/tired of toilet humour, guns/weapons/wars, gadgets, engines etc etc. I really DO think men are from Mars and woman are from Venus

Morissey is on BBC1 at the mo.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/02/2009 19:11

blueberries
banana x2
dried fruit
apple
olives
tomatoes
carrots
cauliflower

Don't you just love the 'stinky' 'poo poo head' phase they all go through

littlerach · 16/02/2009 19:17

See, dd1 has never been into guns or anything violent like that.

But dd2, different kettle of fish, often pretends ot shoot various people/things. And lies down to be "dead".
She plays with boys at school, whereas dd1 would only play woth girls. I guess this is the differenec.

Grapes
