For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Have to get up in a minute though

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/02/2009 09:44

I love fish. I would love to have a huge great salt water tank. It makes you feel so calm and serene watching fish.

Anyway, focus! I forgot to list yesterday:

blueberries
banana x2
dried fruit x2
oj
carrots
swede
apple

womblingalong · 16/02/2009 09:55

Yep TooT, can't believe I have already either. Not all full portions though, prob 4.

womblingalong · 16/02/2009 09:56

Oh TooT,

Have parcelled up Incense, will get it in the post today.

xx

FrannyandZooey · 16/02/2009 10:07

morning loopers. Blueberries, melon, grapes.

Work yuk.
And later I have to go and buy a birthday pressie (with no money) for my sister who is officially the world's hardest person to buy for. She only likes gold and labels. And is a size 20. And has no hobbies. Sigh.

pinkspottywellies · 16/02/2009 10:38

Franny please, no swearing. I'm in a delicate condition

Boco · 16/02/2009 10:51

dds have a friend round, they've taken every soft toy they could find and put them in rows and are doing a certificate assembly. They have penguin earmuffs that are apparently twins joined at the head. They've announced to all their toys that this is not a religious school, and anyone who doesnt' like that can leave now. All the heathen toys have stayed.

Have eaten mwezli with added raisins and seeds.

I am still in bed. I am eeking out this party weekend to the last. It is only ok because it's half term and dh is off work. We are going to Southwold in a bit.

I've been looking at duel cookers and free standing kithens that I cannot afford. Nice though.

Lemon on a pancake

Boco · 16/02/2009 11:22

You're so lucky Guad. I had to get up early - the mother of this child brought her round earlier than agreed because 'she was excited'. No warning or anything.

I might drive to Southwold this week.

Guadalupe · 16/02/2009 11:38

Brought her earlier bcause she was excited? WTF? What time did they come?

I would take her home earlier because you are deflated.

Yes, I am lucky. I must add that this weekend is far from usual and a lie-ins are a rare occurance indeed. Last time this happened was when I had ds2.

littlerach · 16/02/2009 12:00

at Southwold.

I htink I owuld like to live there sometimes.

We have been to the library.
Our local independant supermarket (which sounds swankier than it is) has been bought by Morrisons.

OsmosisBanana · 16/02/2009 12:55

Aubergine, tomato, courgette - prob only half a portion tho. Shite.

Will make halloumi thingy later which is a veritable mountain of veg.

Just had microbiology. The lecture was horribly boring - lots of latin names, but the seminar was fun. We made agar plates and swabbed things.

Now have to go and do some epidemiology reading which I really don't want to as I know it will be painfully boring and all about research methods. Snore.

Sorry for running off last night TooT, my hands and feet were so ridiculously hot I had to go and stand outside for a while. It didn't really work.

littlerach · 16/02/2009 14:21

Carrots
red peppers
tomatoes
mange touts
sweetcorn

AtillaTheHoney · 16/02/2009 15:09

OK...I understand about the juice as one portion, but what about smoothie? It says on one I had just had it counts as two portions

We have.......a fish!

DS was very graphic about the size of our tank and as a result the woman in the petshop recommended we only have one, two at a push.....

it will be called something like Rosie Baby Princess Flower Fred Bob!!

Mouth thing comes and goes stuffit....seems to be related to how I am feeling (healthwise) generally. Have had a couple of bad spells, but no worse.

Mmmmm......pancakes...

DD has talked incessantly since about 6.45....lololperhaps she will start talking to the fish.

It is no good,,have walked a bit and am going to have to lie down...bum. Thought coffee would perk me up.

Can I leave my zimmer frame in the corner?

littlerach · 16/02/2009 15:14

Attila, we have 2 fish.

Their names change on a v frequent basis.

At the moment they rae called salt and Vinegar (dd1).
Dd2 insists on calling hers Patch . Thsi is the name she gives to everyone.

FrayedKnot · 16/02/2009 16:14

Hello fruity ones

Lots of fruit in my muesli
Pear
Large kiwi
Veg soup
Glass OJ

I should have had an avocado for lunch but it was the most cuntingest avocado I've ever had. I was so looking forward to it. I have another one and I suspect it is cunting as well

FrayedKnot · 16/02/2009 16:15

Molly, please buy your sister a goat.

AtillaTheHoney · 16/02/2009 16:47

I second the goat!!

Now I have fish angst......it's gone 'quiet', do they do that while they adjust!! aaarrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

TooTicky · 16/02/2009 17:01

As long as it's the right way up and not floating on the surface, don't worry.
