For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I haven't watched that this time, molly. Is it good? I liked that young girl on the last one. Natasha was it?

littlerach · 03/02/2009 18:23

Oh, Molly, I have that clumsy type PMT. Every time i get somehting out of the cupboard, somehting else falls out with it.

TooT, they're still not jealous. Shall we remind them what a lovely time we had

I have had leek and potato soup
pear
Delicious sausage casserole with red peppers, yellow peppers, sweetcorn, onions in.

So lot s

mollyroger · 03/02/2009 18:26

actually it's really irritating, as when we started watching, we thought there'd be like 3 programmes of 6 contestants, whittled down to a couple of semi finalists then a final. Sadly, they keep producing more and more contestants...we have lost track of any of the good ones and now we have descended into sniggering at the 'types' appearing with no idea of how long we have to watch the damn series to see a winner. But dh and I do love to watch cookery progs while we eat so....

But every now and agin you get a gem, like a Miss Perfect scary woman last night who turned out really elaborate and prissy dishes with a really smug ''see how perfect I am'' manner - which all tasted like shite as she had no pallette

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 18:29

evening
even though snow 2/3 melted we still had to walk around all day prodding bits of it with sticks and sledging, again - sledging on a thin veneer of half melted icy snow is highly effective, contrary to expectations
and we had to do all this with Gnorman Conquest man, who feels no cold whatsoever and wanders around virtually barefoot in the snow, so i couldn't announce after half an hour "right that is your lot, i am going home to drink tea now"
i don't know if my feet will ever be warm again

i was top of the list
it did make me cross
i can't remember why
because it seemed so nerdy, probably

OP posts:
FairLadyRantALot · 03/02/2009 18:32

oh right...a very old list...by which criteria were people judged put on the list...

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 18:33

we had another row about ds1's cds
this time about the disco one which turned out to have Super Freak on it
I expressed disagreement that this was suitable song for 5 year old
dp countered that i had made him put YMCA on and that was not exactly pure and innocent
i don't know WHAT he is talking about

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 18:33

who was the best vegger i think rantalot
it was destined for disaster from the start

OP posts:
BBBee · 03/02/2009 18:35

oh it was a random list of nonsense from my brain - all stupid and made up and silly.

like most stuff.

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 18:36

ds2 has developed an obsession with soup
he wants to eat it all the time and he wants me to spoon feed it to him
i have been shouting "YOU ARE MEANT TO BE BABY LED WEANING! YOU ARE MEANT TO BE FREE FROM THE TYRANNY OF THE SPOON!"
but he just bobs enthusiastically and looks coyly at the spoon

OP posts:
mollyroger · 03/02/2009 18:38

it was a crap list
which failed to take into account the fact that I am 2 people trapped in one small brain and hence have some days where I achieve perfect 10s and others where I smoke and drink everything in sight and eat only bisscuits! Thus averaging out as firmly in the middle.

Or something.

FairLadyRantALot · 03/02/2009 18:38

lol..

franny, erm, that song definitely not suitable....but still made me giggle

mollyroger · 03/02/2009 18:39

rofl at tyranny of the spoon!

stuffitllama · 03/02/2009 18:39

spoons are good
ds2 a very wise child

FrayedKnot · 03/02/2009 18:40

Can anyone tell me why DS' volume turns up about 10 notches when DH comes home?

We did that sledging on a thin veneer of half melted snow. Hence my ailing rear. We don;t have a proper sledge because I always think the cost-per-use in the South East makes them an expensive investment. So we used some of those foil catering trays which I bought once for a party, and were probably extortionate from Lakeland or somehwere, and now we have to chuck them in the recycling

stuffitllama · 03/02/2009 18:41

molly don't worry i will eat biscuits for you
I've got it covered

i have been piquant on a vax thread

it's a message to go to bed

mollyroger · 03/02/2009 18:42

anyone got any jaffa cakes?

SuperBunny · 03/02/2009 18:46

YMCA is nothing but good wholesome fun - you can have a good meal and go and see your friends. Nothing more to it, surely?

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2009 18:46

Now I've been keeping out of the CD situation, not wanting to incur the wrath of Franny. HOWEVER I am all for unsuitable songs.

I actually can't justify this position. I can't justify that it is okay for us all to sit in the car and sing 'fuck Bush and fuck this war' or to sing 'so you're fucking the girl next door, makes me want to sm aaarhlll' etc. Or YMCA from an early age, or even ds1's favourite song as a 7 y-o which was Bad Day by REM.

But now I've said it.

And erm, erm,

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2009 18:47

Oh no, I am not for them actually, except we have had years of CD compilations and they have had some quite wrong songs on, and actually, it's well, sort of been okay?

SuperBunny · 03/02/2009 18:48

Oooo, Jaffa Cakes

Sledding on a thin veneer is actually the best was to do it. Either that, or on an inch of iced snow.

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2009 18:48

[liberal]

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2009 18:48

[irresponsible]

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2009 18:50

This is the first verse of Bad Day so beloved by DS1

A public service announcement followed me home the other day.
I paid it nevermind. Go Away.
Shits so thick you could stir it with a stick-free Teflon whitewashed presidency.
We're sick of being jerked around.
Wear that on your sleeve.
