For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Night night Tatties.

I love Boco's definition of what veg count for what.

Your body sounds as if it is telling you it needs something...they are dead clever, bodies, dontcha know.

Tomatoes x2
pear x2
celery
juice,
Ha....NUTS

TinySparklyWhiteFeather · 03/02/2009 00:47

Oh, the second was for Toot, not Boco.

Unless you think your body is telling you it needs something, and then you should probably give it it. it.

Not sure what my body is trying to tell me it needs, but it will damn well get something soon if it doesn't start behaving itself!

TinySparklyWhiteFeather · 03/02/2009 01:15

another 2 pears

stuffitllama · 03/02/2009 02:17

TinySparklyWhiteFeather · 03/02/2009 02:29

What roffling at particularly stuffit? Or just the general madness light hearted banter of the thread?

stuffitllama · 03/02/2009 03:36

hi tiny

TinySparklyWhiteFeather · 03/02/2009 03:49

There sure are some funny folk on here, but good funny!

I am trying to suss out how to 'suck' the pastilles to make my mouth better when I am not making any saliva and it has been sitting on my tongue for nearly an hour and has absorbed any remaining moisture away... nice!

I am drinking so much I think I will soon be classed as a local reservoir.

stuffitllama · 03/02/2009 04:08

i think the advice about vitamin supplements is good
not roffling any more.. just read dreadful story about a woman strangling her 12 yo daughter so that she could keep her man

SuperBunny · 03/02/2009 04:09

TinySparklyWhiteFeather · 03/02/2009 04:10

Stomach bug has now turned into cold. FFS.

TWF - did you mention you have underlying thrush or something along that lines? Could your tongue be something to do with that? Nystatin would sort it out in days.

TinySparklyWhiteFeather · 03/02/2009 08:00

You are right lemur, but I tried to manage it myself as I didn't want any more prescription meds....but it had gone too far.

I feel disgusting. It is awful. I have managed some toast but it has made me geel sick....sigh

But so sorry you are not well. It sounds like your system is struggling. Can you take a tonic of some sort.

Or vit rich smoothies?

On a brighter note DC's school isn't closed YET!

FairLadyRantALot · 03/02/2009 08:00

oh tiny, your poor mouth....sounds awful about that tongue...

well, kids schools are all closed and I am considering going back to bed, woken up with a headache, slightly self inflicted I suppose, but not deserved....lol...

OP posts:
mollyroger · 03/02/2009 08:43

loads of snow, very cold - and the bloody school is open! Cue crying children (and secretly disappointed parents...)

FairLadyRantALot · 03/02/2009 11:46

oh no molly...tbh, here isn't even that much snow, so, not usre why es school is closed, tbh...lil ones is closed because of heating probs rather than the snow.

aww Franny, I bet your es is very disappointed...you mentioning sledge...I have to ask if my mum still has our old sledges....if she does, would be cool to bring them over here next time we go to visit her......

lol Tiny, how are you feeling?
