For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

sorry caps lock came on....but it is so so so so fecking sad

TooTicky · 02/02/2009 21:56

so, completely ignoring everything else, does anybody know why my thighs and upper arms feel so bruised when they are not at all?

Best answer gets a fiddled result from the vegometer

FrannyandZooey · 02/02/2009 21:57

5 mushrooms well how big were they? about 1/3 of a portion if little ones
3 onions = 3 but you will smell
2 garlic = something's gone wrong on my list! there's nothing between curly kale and kerala. anyway i don't know but you will smell WORSE
2 tins tomatoes = i dunno, 4?
2 peppers = 4

DID you eat it all? if you did, you win. and you smell. well done.

OP posts:
Boco · 02/02/2009 22:10

HOW can she win? When i did Big Bingo 10/10? She can't WIN! I had fruit on my list, actual fruit, as well as vegetables. And mine was not SOUP - she said hers was soup, and then she took it back again.

I demand the vegometer is mended, and then me declared vegger of the day.

TooTicky · 02/02/2009 22:12

Boco, I agree totaly. You win. I will doctor the machine until it says so.

Boco · 02/02/2009 22:13

Mmm hmm? See?

And I bet she had coffee in her soup and all.

BBBee · 02/02/2009 22:17

fuck off toot. i won. franny said. and they were big mushrooms - like big flat ones.

ai made stewed apple as well - i just didn;t ffeel the need to bump mine up with fruit given that i had won purely on the strength of my vegetables.

put us in order franny - in order of who does the best right down to who does the worst. not just today but generally.

i demand it. i demand outcomes.

TooTicky · 02/02/2009 22:17

and brie. It was floating all greasily.

TooTicky · 02/02/2009 22:18

if i fuck off then boco will too because we are STANDING TOGETHER and then you'll be sorry

BBBee · 02/02/2009 22:27

i have just seen the end of the last thread - it is so sad. pink does a post and the guad just says 'they've gone pink' like we have all stormed out and left her.

it is quite sad.

Tatties · 02/02/2009 22:27

Found you!
TooT how did doc's go?

Boco · 02/02/2009 22:31

Well Bbbee, if Franny was to do a chart, last week I did detox and was brilliant all week, so I would be pretty damn near the top. Actually. [folds arms]

Yeah.

Boco · 02/02/2009 22:33

oh poor pink. And then she came in later and said 'i may go to bed now', like maybe all the waiting on the other thread was a bit tiring because she had to walk all the way over here, with her belly.

TooTicky · 02/02/2009 22:35

it is also quite sad that everybody is ignoring my question [eeyorish]

Tatties, was just bloods. Lovely nurse, talked impressively.

BBBee · 02/02/2009 22:41

i am not ignoring it toot but i really don't know what to say - i am sometimes good on medical quackery but have not heard of that before.

hello tatties - you are missed.

Boco · 02/02/2009 22:41

I don't know about bruised feeling Toot, is it achiness? Are you coming down with something? Maybe you're just very tired? Have you stretched those muscles doing something? I can't think of anything else.

TooTicky · 02/02/2009 22:44

it's alright, i'm not really huffy or anything,
Feels like i've been really pummelled, skin as well as muscles.

Tatties · 02/02/2009 22:48

Sorry TooT, missed your question. Do you notice it often? I sometimes notice a bruisy feeling on my thighs although there are no bruises. I think I notice it when it is cold - a circulation thing maybe? Am probably talking crap

Hello Boco and Bbbee

Tatties · 02/02/2009 22:49

It sounds not nice TooT. Are you going to bed soon? I really must

TooTicky · 02/02/2009 22:50

oh, could be. It is certainly cold, and bits of me keep going numb.

How are you Tatties?

TooTicky · 02/02/2009 22:51

Tatties I am in bed.

Tatties · 02/02/2009 22:55

Could you have a warm bath? Might help soothe achiness. Or cuddle hot water bottle or wheatbag or something?

I am ok thanks, just knackered. Had lots to do out and about today, did lots of walking. Think I will stay in tomorrow. Well except for a bit of snowballing if it hasn't all disappeared by tomorrow
