For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lol pink, you are such a rebel....

franny...not sure what to say...but it must be really upsetting to see your son suffer and not to be able to work out the problem despite trying...

ILike...oh slep deprivation is a mare. it will get better...

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 21:26

Poor franny, it is really horrible. I know exactly how you feel having done all of this myself over the last two years.

When is your appointment? The consulatant allergist referred us to a dietician who we still see regularly. She has been helpful but be prepared to grind your teeth at some of the really fucking obvious stuff you will get told. Like, did you know there are hidden allergens in things like chocolate and cake and cereal?

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 21:28

The full moon makes you horny?

Is that a problem? It's only once a month after all.

pinkspottywellies · 03/02/2009 21:32

I think my cousins found those things useful Fran but they're older so have duvets and proper matresses and things - don't know if that makes a difference.

TooT look out for a pink envelope in the post

Lemur, everything turns to shite when I get tired. I turn into a shouty witch and feel rubbish. Do you manage to sleep in the day? I can highly recommend it (now that people are making me do it!)

TooTicky · 03/02/2009 21:38

Ooh Pink

Now, how much thread is there to read?

I have had one hell of an evening.

pinkspottywellies · 03/02/2009 21:40

Too much to read TooT! What's been going on with you?

TooTicky · 03/02/2009 21:44

Oh, we went to woodcraft folk and ds1 and a couple of other boys started chucking snowballs at dd1 and she went completely beserk. She called them fucking twats, she called me a fucking twat, she called everybody fucking twats.
Good thing all the grown ups present were non-judgemental.

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 21:45

Hello Toot and Pink.

We spent ages at the hospital yesterday waiting for the optician to check ds2's eyes. I was certain there was nothing wrong with his ducts, the watering always happens at the same time as wheezing but the doctor thought it best to check. I am relieved they are fine as it would have been the wire thing.

TooTicky · 03/02/2009 21:47

Oh, I am so glad he is okay Guad.

pinkspottywellies · 03/02/2009 21:49

Glad he was fine Guad.

I would have been TooT! Glad everyone was ok about it

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 21:50

Good job it wasn't brownies, Toot, can't imagine the brown owl of my day being non-judgemental!

Optician said they felt quite lumpy but bad enough to treat, he might grow into them a bit. Not causing the excessive watering though.

TooTicky · 03/02/2009 21:54

I think I probably have serious problems with dd1, maybe time to face them. On top of everything else.

TigerFeet · 03/02/2009 22:05

Hiya you lot

TooT could it be puberty do you think? My sister was a cow from age about 11 until 14 or so.

DD is at the eye clinic tomorrow. They are probably going to refer her for surgery

Carrots
Vitamin pill

Boco · 03/02/2009 22:10

Pink, did you know my sister had her baby today? I spoke to her earlier, she sent a picture but it wouldn't open. A little boy called Frank.

My meeting was fine because I held a little tiny baby boy and he smiled and gurgled did that cute talking with his eyebrows that tiny babies do and I gurned and made ridiculous faces at him for 2 hours. It was fun. I can't remember much about the meeting, blah blah budgets blah. It's very exciting Pink, this baby boy thing.

TooTicky · 03/02/2009 22:10

Punerty and then some maybe.

Tiger, if you ever want to talk eye surgery, you know where I am {{{{{{{}}}}}}}

FrayedKnot · 03/02/2009 22:12

Hello..I have ventured to yoga and goodness it was chilly.

TooT do you know why DD1 got so angry? I mean obviously the choice of language not ideal, but...

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 22:12

Toot - I will need eye surgery if you keep doing those bloody things. It's like barbed wire on the eyes!

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 22:13

Oh, congrats to your sister, Boco!!

pinkspottywellies · 03/02/2009 22:15

Yes Boco! I saw on her ante-natal thread!! Pass on my congrats It's a lovely name. Hope she's feeling well.

TF, you managed to keep a vitamin pill down?! Is the ms improving

I'm off to iron my last 2 shirts and go to bed.

TigerFeet · 03/02/2009 22:17

Thanks Toot and @ guad

Congrats to Auntie Boco. I have no nephews/nieces. I'd love to be an auntie. I would be the auntie that smuggled alcopops to your bedroom at family do's and let you stay up later than your parents approved of.

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 22:17

Lemur - I don't know where I got cacherel from, it's Charbonel and Walker. here

I didn't have cream as the gas had gone despite it being half full.

TooTicky · 03/02/2009 22:18

ooh yes, congrats o Boco' sister!

FK, I suppose she has a lot to be angry about but she is also v easily wound up and won't avoid certain situations that she could avoid.

TigerFeet · 03/02/2009 22:19

Yup the pills are staying down! I take two antiemetics a day and sleep for about 16 hours but I am no longer dehydrating and can eat a small meal of an evening. I am feeling mighty perky [lies]

I have been ironing too. In between naps. I love this high falutin life.

TooTicky · 03/02/2009 22:19

Guad, do you mean these? {{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}
[innocent]

TooTicky · 03/02/2009 22:20

Oh that is GOOD NEWS Tiger!
But go easy on that ironing stuff.
