For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

is chacherel the brand? Where does one purchase it from?

I love that expression fairlady, it portrays exactly what you feel about sharp/tart food doesn't it?

Oh see, you just got a smile out of me while I'm feeling shouty and annoyed!!

ahundredtimes · 03/02/2009 19:43

Is it just me who loves it when Guad says 'chacharel' ? I bloody love it when she does that.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/02/2009 19:45

tee hee 100x

It reminds me of a Victoria Wood sketch. Welcome to the world of Cacherel ..........

BBBee · 03/02/2009 19:45

thought of you today franny when i saw a frys chocolate cream. i think you should buy some hot cross buns.

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 19:45

You can have hot choc with soya milk can't you?

It is the brand, yes, but I don't know where it came from. I got it for christmas.

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 19:50

i hate hot chocolate actually i was just looking for something to vent at

bee all bakery products are just conduits for butter in my eyes
without butter they are just so much dust

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 19:51

something or someone?

BBBee · 03/02/2009 19:52

oh god - i am sorry. it must be awful - it really must.

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 19:52

Actually if you get the luxury hot cross buns they do not need butter. They are damp and doughy and dense and fragrant with spice.

I don't know if I am spelling the thing right, lemur, I can't find it on google and I am upstairs.

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 19:54

lol yes so traumatic
oh dear some people have real problems and i am whining about not eating BUTTER

i'll tell you what though i am truly upset about poor ds2
nappy changing is abysmal he just wants to itch
i left him with ds1 this morning while i went in the shower, when i came back there was blood on the sheets from where he had scratched his head

FairLadyRantALot · 03/02/2009 20:01

ILike, why you feeling all shouty?

Franny, dairyfree must be a mare, when you do it because you have to rather tna wanting too....iykwim...

BBBee · 03/02/2009 20:22

no i did mean it - i was telling a friend of mine actually (she is wheat intolerant) and we concluded that not being able to have dairy when breastfeeding sounded much worse because of the raging and specific hunger.

I am sorry to hear about ds2 - I suppose you just want to feel you are doing something.

When DS had colic it broke my heart and we did diet things and cranial massage and everything - i think i was just wanting to be doing something.

In the end it went on it;s own - or maybe because of one of the many thigns i did.

fuck i even did reflexology - on a 8 week old baby!

TinySparklyWhiteFeather · 03/02/2009 20:24

Lemur, come away with me to the moors and have a good shout. Sometimes negative emotions need to be let out and not dealt with or repressed cos they go baaaad.

Is something making you feel shouty or just one of those days?

Guad, it's me 'ormones ya see.

I've gone all hormonal prior to my 40th and the full moon, well......, it's a blardy nightmare, let me tell you.

Although you probably really don't want to know!!

Poor, poor DS Franny. I hope the little mite gets some relief soon, and you. It isn't nice seeing them like that.
Lol at BBee's indecisive post.

I got rescue remedy pastilles for christmas. Quite a good idea.

I like Hot cross buns nearly as much as I like Apple Pie.

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 20:46

I don't really see, feather, no. Are you having hormone treatment? Is it the menopause? Sorry if that's impertinent.

I keep thinking I am perimenopausal but I don't think the moon has anything to do with it. I do often find it hard to sleep with a full moon for some reason.

Guadalupe · 03/02/2009 20:50

Poor ds, franny. That must be really hard. Is it not improving much then? Two weeks must be almost up by now.

pointydog · 03/02/2009 21:01

franny, when you see the dermatologist you can see if they can put in a referral to a dietician if you want proper advice re omitting certain foods

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 21:02

guad it is a bit better but he's still v itchy
nothing dramatic that's for sure
i read earlier exclusion diet should be FROM 2 to 6 weeks [conflicted]

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 21:03

thank you pointy
i think i know the basics of it but i just want to eat the stuff i'm not having
sounds like eggs next
then wheat?
actually wheat not as bad as i would have thought perhaps
there's no fun to be had with wheat really, not without cow juice

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/02/2009 21:03

Don't really know why I feel shouty, although I suspect it's because I feel a bit ill plus I am tired. We met some (childless) friends for coffee on Sunday and they commented on how tired I looked. I just nodded but was inwardly shouting 'yes, that's because I haven't had a full nights sleep for 21 weeks' (that's how old ds is)

Franny - what size is ds? Next do sleepsuits with built-in (can't think of the correct word!) scratchmits, but they only go up to size 3-6 months with the mitts. Matalan used to do them too, but I don't know what size they go up to. Poor little mite.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/02/2009 21:06

Sainsburys make hot x buns with belgian choc in, they are DIVINE.

pinkspottywellies · 03/02/2009 21:09

Franny, do you do all the dust mite reducing things that they suggest for excema? Soft toys in freezer, wash bedding at 60, air bedding over back of chair during day....

I've done my ironing!!!!!! Haha, you can't stop me (Just going to do 2 more shirts for DH for the rest of the week.)

DH and friend painted baby's room tonight. He's getting back in good books now and being very helpful. Just need to paint some shelves and put up new curtain pole and room will be livable in. When the paint's dry and we put the furniture back I'm going to make up the cot so it looks ready - even though he won't be sleeping in it! Ooh I'm getting a bit excited

pinkspottywellies · 03/02/2009 21:16

Mothercare do the scratch-mitt baby-gros too I think.

FrannyandZooey · 03/02/2009 21:17

lemur thank you, i think he is 6 - 12 months in some shops, 3 - 6 in others

pink no god no, i don't
in the thing the doctor gave me it said you have to greatly reduce the amounts of dustmites to make a difference, and for most people it is not worthwhile

i just cringe at idea of spending any more time dealing with it
poor ds1
all the creams and everything and just the basic nappy changes and feeds take so much out of our day
i know this is normal but i struggle a bit

OP posts:
TinySparklyWhiteFeather · 03/02/2009 21:21

God-Damn Horny Guad!!!!!!!!

are you winding me up?

I'll get me coat.........

Oh, Lemur. Being tired is just the worst.

I am sure there is little I can suggest that you haven't tried, but be kind to yourself. People are unthinking aren't they?

Despite my health problems and past issues H told me that I am skinny, in a not really complementary way.. I think it is just me because I am over sensitive, but I wouldn't dream of saying stuff like that.

Anyway who gives a fiddle. We are veggers and therefore we are gorgeous. 'tis the law. I read it somewhere important!!
