For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

What do you want to know about my chilli TooT?

SB I'm totally with you on banana eating in public!

I'm having a cookathon today! I overshopped and have hardly cooked this week so I'm making cottage pie, spag bol, sausage casserole and leek and potato soup. Should last a day or two!

TooTicky · 14/12/2008 15:05

Pink, I want to know how to make it. I know you told us recently but I can't find it. I have bought ingredients.

Boco, I wish I could wave a magic wand for you.

Guadalupe · 14/12/2008 15:05

Oh what a pain, Boco, how did the cat get in? There seem to be a few little ones with pneumonia atm, thread about it here

Lol at birthday paper. This year I am buying a big roll and brown paper and doing different coloured ribbons. I am hoping the ribbon doesn't cost more than paper thus defeating the object. Curling ribbon is quite cheap though I think.

About to have roast chicken and dh has wrapped sausages in bacon and bought sprouts. To me that is christmas dinner, I'm not sure I want it ten days before the main event tbh. It's kind of a one day a year dinner really isn't it? Then I am making treacle tart. I am meant to be looking for a recipe now.

pinkspottywellies · 14/12/2008 16:22

I've sent you the recipe on fb TooT x

BBBee · 14/12/2008 16:42

oh boco - my darling boco - i come on here and it is all going mango up for you.

1 - can you lock you cat flap at eve time

2 - sorry about illness - this is so horrid for you - it must be so wearing. I don't know how I would cope in your situation. no advice really - just a heart felt sigh.

3 - bithday paper smishmirthday paper. ribbons and glitter - they only tear it off. Tell dp it doesn't matter.

4 - food thing - er, pasta and butter - you need sustaining. Cut up apple for pudding - done.

5 - you are great and fab and top and wonderful and we all adore you.

hello all you other tooties - have missed you. Have been doing 'green' wrapping without selotape and everyone is stressed and irritated by string.

I now eat no fruit or vegetables at all - but I do drink diet coke and crash cars.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

BBBee · 14/12/2008 16:44

can i insist on up to date pics of the franny-ettes please.

SuperBunny · 14/12/2008 17:10

Well done to little pink and her potty training. I read your 'cookathon' not long after smiles' post about being horny and I thought you were having a cockathon May I have your bean chili recipe too, please?

I did brown paper and ribbon, Guad. DS did potato prints of holly leaves on it then we added berries with thumb prints and gliiter glue.

Smiles, sorry for such a stressful time. How is DD now? And, how is E, Boco?

I had Sag Paneer last night and I thought of you all as I munched my way through a mountain of spinach

I have had exercise and a banana (at home) and grapes.

FrannyandZooey · 14/12/2008 17:30

LOL cockathon

Guad I have adopted brown paper and curling ribbon as only sensible option
the curling ribbon is v cheap if you get from a party shop - you get a massive big roll for about £3
my sister does tags from last years christmas cards which is really excellent idea and am stealing for next year
oh if you have any kind of christmas stamp the dcs can stamp them all over the brown paper
or just squiggles with a gold or silver pen look nice

thenewme · 14/12/2008 17:36

gave me a laugh but it will take more than that

I am so stupid.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 14/12/2008 17:46

I do tags from last years' cards.
And this year, I resorted to cutting out square pix from last year's cards and re-mounting them on coloured cards (cheapskate). They look pretty nice, actually.
And I also use cut up pix from xmas cards as pictures for the boys' advent calandar.

We have abaonded roast dinner today and are just having sausages and mash and veg.

ds1 is now ill and dh and I have to go to work tomorrow so I am dosing him up and praying he will be ok for school....I feel like such a shit!

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 14/12/2008 17:47

thenewme, what do you want to talk about?

SuperBunny · 14/12/2008 17:51

I am going to do tags from this years cards. I use dto do it but forgot!

Hope DS1 miraculously recovers byu the morning, FMF.

thenewme, are you ok?

thenewme · 14/12/2008 18:03

Not really.

Is this a chat thread for anything or to just talk about fruit and veg? (me being the stupid potato)

SuperBunny · 14/12/2008 18:05

Well, strictly speaking we only talk about fruit and veg. But as you can see, they are usually incidentals amongst chit chat, advice, support and sympathy.

Another banana

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 14/12/2008 18:08

we talk lengthily about fruit and veg to deter the rest of MN from realising what a lovely thread this is...and stop the Wrong Sort infiltrating

CLEMENTINES
SPINACH
MUSHROOMS
GRAPES!!

actually, these threads have been running for years now, so we have to chat occasionally
what's on your mind?

SuperBunny · 14/12/2008 18:26

I've got a luvverly bunch of coconuts

thenewme · 14/12/2008 18:30

I have someone I shouldn't on my mind.

SuperBunny · 14/12/2008 18:39

OH, that's tricky, thenewme

thenewme · 14/12/2008 18:40

It is bloody madness tbh.

SuperBunny · 14/12/2008 18:41

I just made bread - would you like some? And there's coffee chammomile tea in the pot

thenewme · 14/12/2008 18:43

yes please

fuck fuck fuck

littlerach · 14/12/2008 18:48

Bread - yum.

Hope all the mini veggers ahev a better night tonight.

I use brown paper too, and red ribbon (from Ikea) and also brown luggage labels from the PO, soemtimes with a bit of glitter on, or a stamp, or just a sparkly pen.

WE have been shopping and it was rather quiet.
Dh has bought me a swoonsome coat from M&S. It is green cord. I love it.

Spinach
Tomatoes
Banana

oops.
