For anyone who wants a boost to their general health (and to talk bobbins with a load of fruity nutters). The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Love to Franny

I have cunting bananas. You know the kid that are green one day then brown and squishy the next?

SuperBunny · 08/09/2008 21:57

Goji Berries, raisins

filthymindedvixen · 08/09/2008 22:03

Are goji berries nice? I look at them with suspicion though I know they are Good For You.

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 08/09/2008 22:08

I like them. They are sweet and chewy, like fruit pastilles or something. I know other people dislike them a lot. I think Franny says they taste like soap

Tittybangbang · 08/09/2008 22:24

"awaits naked Titty pictures"

[Remind self to dig out and scan flattering painting done of naked self when young, firm student supplementing grant working as a life model]

Superbunny - do you have a tin of coconut milk? Slice those bananas and simmer in coconut milk. Add a pinch of salt and sugar. Lush..... [drooling emoticon]

Total today:
prunes
apricots
pear
butternut squash
courgette
cabbage
orange
houmous
tomatoes
banana

10!

Think of me on Wednesday. DS and DS2 are starting school and nursery respectively for the first time.

When I was feeling very ill earlier this year (I had unexplained jaundice) I put ds2 down for a full-time place (9.30 - 3.30) at our local children's centre for the coming academic year. Feeling v. worried about it now the time has come, was in tears last night. DS2 is ....... I can't explain how strongly I feel about him. I love all my children equally but I feel especially bonded to him in a very primal sort of way. And I'm worried how he's going to cope. He only turned three in July so will be one of the youngest children in his group.

The problem is that I've been doing the school/home/nursery/home/school/home pick up and drop off routine for two years and I'm sick to death of it. I need, need, need a reasonable stretch of time so I can study, sort my work out and just have a few hours to myself every now and again, to meet a friend for lunch or go into town. I'm self-employed and have been trying to do my work without the benefit of childcare, locking myself in the loo to make calls to clients because if I do it in front of ds2 he always tries to grab the phone off me so he can join in the conversation. I have to fight the children off to write emails and am constantly flying by the seat of my pants when it comes to my admin. It makes me so stressed. Having ds2 do just mornings would almost be worse than him not going at all because I'd be tied to doing the nursery run in the middle of the school day for another year.

God, I feel so guilty about it.

SuperBunny · 09/09/2008 03:43

Oh, there really are naked pictures of you...

No coconut milk here but I keep thinking I should have some in the house. V useful stuff.

Sorry you are feeling sad about things.

Tittybangbang · 09/09/2008 08:23

"Oh, there really are naked pictures of you..."

There must be thousands of drawings and paintings of me out there. I worked as a life model at several London art colleges for YEARS while doing my degrees. It was a great job. Loved it.

Re: coconut milk - it's one of my family staples. I buy it from the local Chinese cash and carry where you can get it for 57p a tin. Great for all sorts of things.

TooTicky · 09/09/2008 08:55

Tatties is a darling

Tatties, I will email you when I am not burning onions!

zippitippitoes · 09/09/2008 13:11

not yet

i don t know what to say

i will szy that he was awfully shy and it was another side of the tracks kind of thing i was the girl in the big house who was doing a levels and going to uni and he was the one who stopped going to school at 14 and took drugs and was a loner with a very young mum hence he thought i would meet someone else when i went away

i cant quite get my head round him looking for me after all this time especailly as he isnt doing it just by a few compute clicks on friends reunited or something

SuperBunny · 09/09/2008 14:17

Morning

Nothing to say. Insomnia bad. Feel groggy. Need coffee. And I don't really drink coffee.

What did Tatties do? Why is Toot burning stuff? Zippi, must be very odd. But in a nice way?

Hope everyone is ok.

filthymindedvixen · 09/09/2008 14:40

hmm, I think to think I'd be wary in that situation Zippi. I know it must be flattering but I'd be questioning his motivation

Tatties is a dalring, but what has she done specifically?

FrayedKnot · 09/09/2008 14:45

Hello

I could get used to this...second day in a row of having two whole hours to myself...

I have been to the Garden Centre and tried on White Stuff clothes in the Outdoor Pursuits shop and everything! at price of clothes mind you, couldn;t justify buying anything.

Unfortunately back to work tomorrow

Titty, would it not be possible for you to drop one or two days at nursery, at least to begin with? Or do you have to commit to every day?

Zippi how long did you see him for? As you say strange he has not looked for you online. He must always have held a candle for you

Gah I can;t belive it has just started to rain...we had lovely sunshine this morning.

zippitippitoes · 09/09/2008 14:58
