just got back from weekend in helsinki,everybody seems to smoke there!!!! mind you the whole world seems to smoke now that i don't but i did really well,was tempted many times but i managed to keep away from the evil sticks,how is everyone doing?

...im doing fine, so id dp..hes i think a week and 3 days now apparently...gos quicker for him than it did for me!!!

Come on then where helsinki...so ill know next time...lol..i remember being on about 600 and something and having a fag and having to reset back to 0...OMG can you just imagine....it was so so so so so gutting!!!!!!!!
Its quite scary how quick the total goes up as weve all smoked for years and not given a thought to the actual amount of shit from each fag that weve smoked that layered itself on our lungs....ok ill stop now...

Sorry i haven't been on much - i am trying to wean myself off mumsnet! It was taking over my life.
Things are going well here - we have managed to decorate the bathroom this weekend - without the aid of fags! It always used to be paint abit, stop for a fag, paint a bit more, stop etc!
Was a bit stressed earlier after a trip to tesco but fought the urge for fag with crumpets!
No snow here - and i don't want it. Love to look at it, hate to walk in it!
I don't know where helsinki is either - it sounds foreign!

Helsinki's the capital of Finland - how come you were there whymummy? are you finnish? i'm quite surprised that it's a smoky place, i always thought everyone was so healthy up there!!

so, have hopefully pulled myself together and quit day is tomorrow, well actually now and i've stocked up on herbal teas and drinks to discourage me from the unhealthy caffeine/nicotine lifestyle i've been leading of late!

drusilla's was great cc, yes, very expensive!!! we didn't have to pay for ds1 - lied and said he was under 2 but let's face it, he could probably pass for 1 with his size

ds2 isn't even accepting food with bits, still pureed stuff and i keep coaxing him with biscuits and breadsticks but he just uses them as teethers then chucks them!! anyway, he's not the same stature as ds1 and being chunky we don't tend to worry so much like we did with ds1. it's amazing what they survive on, ds1 is like your dd, he eats almost anything now!

dh back at work tomorrow and i've just come on tonight so this first week of quitting should be a laugh

no, i'm not finnish,i'm spanish,helsinki was just a city break and for the children to play in the snow,they loved it
and yes they smoke a lot and almost everywhere,same like back home.

Hello again everyone...hope your ok with the new thread fee that one was getting a bit busy!!!
I have noticed how quicker decorating gets done when you arent wasting time smoking every 20 mins!!!
Mink I hope you taking big deep breaths and doign well this morning. Think about how good it will be to wake up in the morning feeling fresh and clean and to get through hours at a time without being haunted by the need to smoke, the guilt, the stench...you can leave that all behind. And of course come and type frantically here when you having a moment!
Whymummy very at the kids in the snow...weve been waiting for months for enough just for a go on the sledge!!!!!!!!

snowing here in scotland, big flakes - am working, feel like I live in a cave these days lashed to the pc, with endless coffee and lozenges - but not long to go now. Hence short post cc!

Just wanna get this book finished and have fun with the kids again (and long baths, read magazines etc...)

How's everyone doing? With all the snow am so glad I don't have to stand outside puffing away and feeling like a minor criminal.

cc is your dp still off the ciggies? Mine still smoking tons.

Still doing fine - ditched the patches last month so am double pleased. Have put on half a stone though - - but decided two days ago to go back on Slimmers World diet I did yonks ago and use mainly GI foods too, so hopefully it will start coming off again. 1lb so far.

Drinking masses of herbal teas (peppermint/chamomile and lime in particular) and green tea - which has got to be better for me than the constant tea and coffee I used to drink - as was finding that too much caffeine really made me want a fag. How about everyone else?

managed to get through yesterday! One day feels like such an achievement this time...why??? really craved last night after dinner and today after lunch but all i could think was of you girls and it got me through i think i reached that stage where i felt like a real smoker again as opposed to a blipping non-smoker so this time it's a big journey for me!!!

snow here but sadly ds1 had to go to nursery so no playing outside for me i sometimes wonder who the child is in this house

i totally agree about the caffeine willow and well done! i love the cham/lime one as well and the peppermint seems to make your mouth feel healthier just from the taste!

simultaneously being on and quitting has released the eating demon in me and yesterday i stuffed myself with two walnut whips and a cup of tea before lunch! for goodness sake who eats 2 walnut whips, it's hard enough to eat one!!!!

Hi FG and MM and WM (if you're around), I thought I had killed this thread. I seem to have a knack for killing threads these days.

Oops sent too early. I'm not using anything. After I stopped breastfeeding DD2, I started up with a one-fag-a-day-habit. Strangely after a few weeks of that, the one fag was making me feel nauseous. It just didn't appeal to me any more. After that, my whole system seemed to change - I feel great now. By the way, I have been a smoker on and off for nearly 20 years.
