Winetime what a fantastic post....it is what you need to keep reading IWAL when you get stressed!!..sorry I cannot post more at this point but got workmen in and they keep bothering me with questions..Ahhhhhhhh!!!

NO MORE GOOGLING

Speakie more when I get rid of these men!!!

Winetimeisfinetime · 14/05/2008 12:15

You're not a pain love - I understand entirely where you are coming from. I might sound all sensible but inside I am panicing like mad about my heart thing - I'm going to see my gp on Monday to see what he thinks so I do practice what I preach.

It's good to be able to talk about things with people that understand as I don't have too many people in rl that I would mention my worries to.

Iworryalot · 14/05/2008 12:17

Thanks both , sorry winetime ,me going on and on about myself , how you feeling x

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 14/05/2008 12:27

Don't apologise iwal - this is your Bowel thread - I have my own angiogram thread to freak out on

I'm ok - worried - keep thinking I might be having a heart attack and am a bit scared to exercise which is a bit irrational as I was exercising quite happily before and nothing has actually changed except someone has said I might have a problem and rationally I know exercise is good for your heart. But I think when you are an anxious type, the irrational always seems to take precedence over the rational.

Iworryalot · 14/05/2008 12:31

No need for apology , What kind of feelings do you get ,do you het palputations ?Have you had any tests on your Heart yet ECG ?
and i know what you mean about the irrational side taking over .

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 14/05/2008 12:37

No I don't really get palpitations - I get very breathless which is what started off the investigations. I have had a stress ecg { on a treadmill } and a myoview scan where they test your heart both resting and under stress using a gamma ray scan thing. They both gave 'abnormal' results so I have to decide whether to have an angiogram to give a definitive answer as to whether there is a problem and if so the extent of it.

Iworryalot · 14/05/2008 12:47

oh i see ,and i guess that is the only way to find out what may be going on .
It will be good to see and talk to your GP about your worries ,is there any heart concerns with any other members of your family sometime this can be a hyreditory problem .
(cant spell )

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 14/05/2008 13:00

All of my family, that I know of, have died from heart disease but not till their 60's and 70's.

I have also found out that I have high cholesterol too which can be a cause of heart disease.I have a funny diet in that I am mainly vegetarian - I have started eating fish a bit in the last few years but never eat any dairy, which means I don't eat much in the way of saturated fat so it seems likely that the high cholesterol is a genetic thing - and maybe why my family are so prone to heart disease.

So the rational side of me is trying to be positive that the problem has been picked up at an early stage and can be treated, but the irrational side of my brain is fighting that by thinking 'Heart attack - going to die at any minute !!!'
You know how it is

Iworryalot · 14/05/2008 13:23

Yes i do know how your feeling , iv a little devil on my shoulders today

Your doing the right thing getting help and advice .
You cant do any more than you are by the sounds of it ,well done .
It may well be a genetic problem these usually are i think .

My DH has high blood preasure and high cholesterol 5.5 they are treating the blood p first then the cholesterol .

Dont know why i bother paying for PHC , just recieved a bill from my Gastro doc,

Consoltation 170.00

SP procedure 250.00

my cover will only pay 167.00 of that ...
Great ...
sorry going on now arnt i ....

( i suppose i did get seen quite quickly )

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 14/05/2008 13:33

Yes we have PHC but it won't pay for 'monitoring' so we end up paying extra too.

I've got to pop out for a bit but will be back on later IWAL. xx

Iworryalot · 14/05/2008 20:52

Hi all please forgive me for being so frantic and sad today im so sorry , i should not have looked up my symptoms on google this made matters worse for me as all sorts of things came up .
The fact is i have no facts and will wait to see my gastoologyist (cant spell ) and talk my worries through ,its possible i may have an issue with absorbing fat ? of which i can get help and advice for .
I at times let my head run away with many thoughts and that little devil appears on my shoulder giving more negative vibes ,im sorry if i caused you both upset .
you have our own problems and worries to deal with .

IWAL....{{{{BIG HUGGLES}}}} so sorry i was not around last night for you when you needed me but had a school meeting to attend. I feel awful you needed someone and we were not around I am very sorry.
I know what that lil devil is like on your shoulder....but you can control it and he will only get more controlling if you dont control him. First of all..no more googling..it scares the pants of you and is futile and proves nothing ..please please listen ...goggling gives the devil control....you need to stop googling PLEASE!!!!

I think you don't have a problem with absorbing fat but are obsessing about it by gogogling and looking in the toilet....and then you almost convince yourself and "think" you may have a problem, but if you are eating healthy your absorbing fine.

Your gastro gave you the all clear from what he seen so all is good there.
Get rid of the bright light.
Stop googling.
Flush without looking.
Listen to MN we have "Been there"

Sorry if this seems harsh but I have had this problem and this is so soul destroying to see someone else suffer like I did.

I am only trying to help and not see you suffer..{{{HUGS}}}

Winetimeisfinetime · 15/05/2008 13:58

IWAL - big hugs from me too. There is nothing to forgive regards you getting worried about your symptoms and talking to us about it. You have not upset me at all and I understand very well how you are feeling as I have the same feelings. Please always feel free to tell us how you are feeling - I think it helps to have people who understand to talk things over with - I know I have felt better since talking on here about my health worries.

I do also understand that once you have got yourself worked up about something it is very hard to settle yourself until you have had some resolution from the dr. As you so aptly put it 'there is that little devil on your shoulder that you can't shake off'. I can totally empathise with that feeling and know how horrible and alone it can make you feel. Well that's exactly the time when you need to talk about it and get the support of knowing that you're not alone in those feelings

I'm sorry too that I wasn't here last night to lend support. I have to share the computer with my dh and last night he had it. I am also going to be in and out a fair bit over the next few days but will keep checking here when I can to see how you are doing, so if I'm not around it is only because of that.

Love Winetime xxxxx

cositjustisok · 16/05/2008 07:16

Try not and think to much about Bm..hard I know but try to break the cycle of looking..analysing, thinking about BM..then googling..I had to brak the cycle and while it was difficult ..I am pleased to say it worked...let me know if this makes any sense...Thinking of you

BTW..well done for yesterday recognising you needed to get away from the computer

Winetimeisfinetime · 16/05/2008 10:30

Hi Ladies

I've been away from the computer too as my ds is on half term this week so trying to do some things with him and stop him spending all his time on his computer.

Glad to hear you had a bit of a break yesterday IWAL - retail therapy is a very good distraction technique isn't it.

Good idea to write it all down ready for your appt. I always find that my brain goes to mush when I am at the appt and anxious so writng things down helps to make sure I cover everything - well that's if I can even remember I have a list with me !!

Just thinkung about the diet - I wouldn't change too many things at once as it will make it difficult to know what is causing any changes in your BM.

Cosit - that sounds like a very healthy diet. I admire your will power at restricting the wine to weekends !

Hope you both have a good day - I will be back later to see if you are around !

Iworryalot · 16/05/2008 20:26

Hi change of subject a bit , asking as you are both mummys , my DD had chicken pox at 4 months old very bad ...
now today she woke with a few blister /spots on her forehead and i can feel bumps in her scalp ? she is on Antibiotics for her hand so thought it could be reaction to this ? took her to A&E for redressing on hand , which is healing very well ,and then went on to doctors , who said not a reaction to antibioics ,but chicken pox ! i cant believe this could be true ..... its just in her head and she has several on her forehead , shes fine in herself no temp just itchy , have carried on giving antibiotics ,have you heard of children getting it again ? there was a letter a few weeks back saying about chicken pox .what do you think ?
thankyou both
love IWAL xxx

How you both doing today x

OP posts:
cositjustisok · 17/05/2008 06:37

Morning IWAL..hope you are good today. My eldest 2 had chickenpox very young too, though not as young as yours, but I have heard of it appearing twice, seen this link for you ... www.gpnotebook.co.uk/simplepage.cfm?ID=x20030701105911527470
www.theanswerbank.co.uk/ Body-and-Soul/Question106864.html

In the last link a girl has herself had them twice and it can be caused when the immune system is run down due to another illness being fought at the same time..this would make sense for your daughter as she is on antibiotics at the moment..so fits in there.

Hope she is not suffering too much and you are coping well with a poorly child. {{{hugs to IWAL and DD}}}

How are you doing now IWAL. Hope to catch up with you soon x

cositjustisok · 17/05/2008 06:38

Sorrt IWAL I can never do links correctly so copy these into your menu bar to work...where do I go wrong????

Iworryalot · 17/05/2008 10:35

Hi cosit , DD is fine , seems well in herself , no more spots today ,they seem to be crusting over a bit .
so strange ,we have our school fate tomorrow ,all outside i guess she cant go to that though ? shame kids have such fun they love it .

Hope your ok ? hows things going ?

Im having another panic time as BM still same , have slipped off dieta bit ,so maybe thats why , had some minced meat , thought id strained all the fat away whilst cooking but did seen quite greecy still when eating the spag bol i made , since then feeling bloated and windy , so worry sets in .....
had a few beers the last couple of nights maybe that hasnt helped , hasnt cheered me up anyway ,
.Sorry ladies just feeling low today ...
Going out with DH and children in a while , he wants to go to PC world ,will sit in car with DD ,will be good to get away from the house take my mind off things .

Hope you have a good day ,catch you both a little later .
Love IWALXX

Hi cosit and IWAL - sorry to hear your dd has a 2nd dose of chickenpox but glad she isn't feeling too poorly with it. I have no experience with 2 doses pf chicken pox but I have had German measles at least twice and possibly 3 times so these things can happen. Hopefully as she must already have somne antibodies this will just be a mild dose.

Hope you both have a nice day - I'm afraid us putting up our outdoor pool has killed the summer dead - we probably got a bit over enthusiastic at seeing a bit of sunshine and now we've scared it away by putting the pool up.
Your trip out to PC World, iwal, and sitting in the car sounds just like something I would do - only I would be in the car with the dogs as they hate being left alone, whilst dh and ds go and have their technological hit. You have to try and take pleasure in the small things though, don't you !!!

cositjustisok · 17/05/2008 17:30

Hi Winetime and IWAL..hope you are both well. Sorry IWAL you are still feeling anxious about BM, wehn do you see your consultant next?, have yo been writing things down to talk to him about?..cant think the beers would be causing any problem though...even the mince I would have thought if you strained it could not be still greasy. SO you think it is something else..like butter, cakes or cheese?..so you eat theese things at all...if very lttle fat is inyour diet i cant think how the oily film is there???

I have a hospital appointment on Weds not my thread here so will not go into detail..... may start my own about that..as usual freaking out slightly but am a little better than usual...

Hope you both had a good day.x

Iworryalot · 17/05/2008 18:29
