Mind you that just gives me extra time to worry about all my other health things

I think that I used an organisation called 'No Panic', years ago IWAL - not sure if that is the one you have been told about? They did group sessions by conference call, over the phone and I did find it was helpful.

I'll be sending you positive vibes for the morning - please let us know how it all goes.
I'm always available for an email chat if you're ever worried - like you I think my dh must get absolutely sick of me sometimes. He tries very hard to be understanding but is the complete opposite of me as he is so laid back about everything he is virtually horizontal !

BlaDeBla · 08/05/2008 14:40

I hope you're ok, Iworryalot. It's so awful having gut problems. I was in agony with mine last year, and was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I've also had a campylobacter infection which was horrible. It is literally draining! WEll done to start the councelling. I hope it is helpful. I think that tummys are quite sensitive!

Iworryalot · 08/05/2008 14:41

Thanks alot , and yes DH is the same ,but thats good in a way as im sure i would be evon worse if he worried to ....

I've got my own 'worried' thread in Health going at the minute as I am fretting about having an angiogram, so I'm just off to bump it hasn't had any replies yet.

Iworryalot · 08/05/2008 20:53

thanks winetime , whats an angiogram ? how did your appt go today ?

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 08/05/2008 20:59

It was a bit of a waste of time as the dr said he wouldn't want to do my next colonoscopy until I've sorted out my issues with my heart, which propbably means having an angiogram which is where they look at the arteries to see if there are any blockages. They do it by putting a thin catheter through the vein in your groin and pass it up to your heart.

I am not very keen at all to have this done as I don't like the sound of it and there are risks involved so I'm stressing about it quite alot at the minute.

Iworryalot · 08/05/2008 21:39

sorry lost you then for a bit computer went funny , wish i could help but dont know much about that ,only my father in law has had it done (hes 69) and had to have some stints put in to clear his arteries ,and is now very well .
Hope you find some , help .. {big hug} x

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 08/05/2008 22:39

Thanks IWAL - yes my computer went funny too for a while.
I'm sure I will get it sorted out. Lots of people have angiograms, my mil and your fil for instance and have been fine. I am probably just over analysing the risks of the test and should stop faffing about, wasting emotional energy worrying about it and just get on with it. I get to the point with my worrying that I start to get on my own nerves so goodness knows how my dh puts up with it !

Thanks for the hug - much appreciated. Here's one for you [biiiiig hug } for tomorrow. xx

cositjustisok · 09/05/2008 06:06

IWAL..wishing you calming thoughts for today to help you through. I am sure you will be absolutely fine and it will all be over before you know it. The staff working with you will be fantastic..they always are and they know that you will be nervous and are there to help you through it. One nurse was excellant with me and held my hand the whole way through it and stroking my hair with the other hand. Will be thinking of you at 10 0'clock....{{{{LOADSA BIG HUGGLES FOR IWAL}}}}. Take care x

Iworryalot · 09/05/2008 06:53

cositjustisok · 09/05/2008 10:15

Hi IWAL...hopefully you will be over it all now or nearly .....thinking of you, hope you feel less anxious too. {{{hugs}}} x

Iworryalot · 09/05/2008 16:53

Hi im back
wow what a day that was .... all went ok and doc said all looks healthy and normal do have piles though .....i thought so as had big babies ......
have to wait now for biopsy results ......dont like waiting ..
was quite uncomfortable more than anything specially when the camera went quite far up that did hurt a bit ..
Had an anenima that was rotten to ....all things i think you both have experienced before .
just so glad its done .
Hope your ok .x
thankyou for supporting messages unfortunatly didnt go down till 12 or procedure so was waiting around for ages .

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 17:35

Hi IWAL - so glad to hear it is all done now. Great that the doc said everything looks healthy. I haven't actually ever had an enema for any of my procedures but don't like the thought of it. I think it must have been more intrusive that the rigid sigmoidoscopies I have had - maybe more like a colonoscopy which can be uncomfortable but I have always had a sedative for them so you quickly forget the discomfort. What did they biopsy ?

Hope you can relax a bit more now and enjoy the weekend.
xx

Iworryalot · 09/05/2008 17:38

HI biopsy taken from part near entry ,think .... for i dont know ,but did say to check if diareha done damage i think , what do you think ???

OP posts:
Iworryalot · 09/05/2008 17:49

Didnt mean that to sound rude , hope you dont think i was , hows your day gone x

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 17:55

I really don't think from what they told you, that the biopsy sounds like anything to worry about at all { easier said than done I know } It is probably just to help with the diagnosis of why you've been having problems- eg I know they sometimes take a biopsy to check for things like wheat intolerance. If it was anything even slightly dodgy I think they would have told you - they did me even before it was sent away for testing.

Iworryalot · 09/05/2008 17:59

OK thanks ,they just said all looked healthy and normal , took photos of my piles ....... not sure why got to wait 2 weeks now ......

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 18:01

Perhaps your piles were so impressive the doctor is going to make a case study of them

Iworryalot · 09/05/2008 18:03

LOL he did say they were a substantual amount !!!
did you have pics taken ?

OP posts:
Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 18:09

Not that I am aware of - my rear end is obviously not of as much scientific interest as yours

cositjustisok · 09/05/2008 18:14

Thats great news IWAL..that is exactly like my procedure..said all looked fine took 3 biopsies and photos of my piles . Great news that they said all looked healthy and normal. My consultant told me that he can tell even without the biopsy result if things look good or bad and this should really reassure you too. They can see growths and ulcerations clearly and would not tell you all was normal and healthy unless that was the case. It is standard procedure to take biopsies too with this type of procedure. I think the uncomfortable part is when they are turning the tube to follow the bowel around its natural turns, this is quite far up too. I thought the enema (sp) was rotten too...Was thinking of you all day and so so pleased that you have got a great result .....the 2 week wait is jsut gonna confirm all is normal and healthy. So pleased for you, now as winetime has already said..realx and enjoy your weekend..Think I may crack open a bottle later to celebrate for you. Feel free to ask any more questions because have had this done quite a few timew.{{{hugs))) x
