Awh IWAL...come over here for a {{{BIG HUGGLE}}} ...... I totally understand how you feel...it is very emotional and you are just delighted it is all over and done with too....I felt terribly emotional and always put it down to sheer relief the whole damn thing was over. Enjoy your night of cuddles you really do deserve it...the cramps is the wind from the air they put inside you it has all now gotta come out!!!!.....you probably will have a lot of trouser coughs tonight ...but all perfectly normal...bowel movements will not be like what you had after the enema they should be normal no Diahhorea...sorry for all the details but jsut thought you may appreciate a bit of explanation [smile x

Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 18:35

Aww love it's not surprising you feel a bit emotional - you've had an ordeal to get through today and have done brilliantly.

Cosit summed it all up so beautifully didn't she and it's comforting to hear she had exactly the same things done.

Have a lovely evening cuddling your dc and dh. Will keep my eye open for you both on mn.

Love
Winetime

OMG..it is the law that you have a glass of wine tonight..you have had a hectic day....no clue why nurse said you shouldn't have one.....winetime do you know????....I would say whats the harm you have had no drugs...

Iworryalot · 09/05/2008 18:41

question cosit , will my bowels work ok tomorrow ,bit scared they said i may get a little blood (not alot ) did you ?

OP posts:
cositjustisok · 09/05/2008 18:44

Bowels will be back to normal tomorrow...I did get a tiny amount of blood the next day...this is from the areas where they took the biopsies and abolutely nothing to be concerned about. this may not even be noticeable or jsut a few little spots. I was so scared to go to the toilet the next day cause they had mentioned blood..but it was such a little amount I was glad they had warned me.

Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 18:48

I was told you can get a bit of blood after a sigmoidoscopy and also as you have had a biopsy, but tbh I didn't even after the colonoscopy and biopsy so you may well not.

Can't see why you shouldn't have a glass of wine - unless you were given some sedation or something that might preclude it.

Iworryalot · 09/05/2008 18:49

Thanks cosit and winetime your a great help to me letting me ask all these questions , what would i have done without you both [smile ] hope you have a nice evening , will check in a little later as DH back with children and need that hug...

Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 18:55

I feel like I know you two too - I hope we carry on seeing each other around on here. If there's ever anything worrying either of you and you want to chat then let me know.

Anyway I think I may well have to start another thread of my own soon when I start panicing because my angiogram appointment has come through, so look out for me as I will need major hand-holding as I am a total wuss!

cositjustisok · 09/05/2008 18:57

Awh winetime....when is your appointment for? {{{BIG HUGGLES FOR WINETIME}}} we will be here for you from now and during and after the angiogram....lean on us and let us take some of the strain and stress. x

It is lovely finding friendship like this...thankyou to you both {huggs}}}

Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 19:08

Oh you've both got me tearful too now. You are both lovely.
I am going to try and contact my cardio next week to see if he can put my mind at rest on a couple of points and then ask him to book me in for the angiogram. Don't know how long I will be waiting but apparently he only does them on Friday afternoons so it may be a while before I have my own fun-filled Friday!!

Perhaps we ought to start our own 'health anxiety' thread so we don't have to lurk around the 'Health' section, scaring ourselves silly, looking for each other

cositjustisok · 09/05/2008 19:16

winetime ..that made me chuckle about scaring ourselves silly looking for each other (god we so get each other don't we)...will be starting my own thread too when I have my tests for Addisons disease...and I didn't even invent that one we so should have our own thread

cositjustisok · 09/05/2008 19:17

Posted that before I had finished.....Winetime what questions did you want to ask your cardiololgist?

Winetimeisfinetime · 09/05/2008 19:29

Is Addisons disease to do with thyroid function cosit ?

I'm going to ask him if a cardio CT scan { which I know very little about but from Googling may be an alternative to an angiogram and they do it at Harefields Hospital - anything to avoid that angiogram !} might be appropriate for me. I think I know what he will say about that but I phoned Harefield's this morning and they were saying that if I sent them copies of my scan results they would assess my suitability for the CT scan. I'm not sure how to broach this with him without it seeming like I don't trust his opinion.
And I also wanted him to just clarify what he thought my risk of having a serious problem might be so that I can try and weigh up the risks of the angiogram against the risk of not having it and missing something detrimental.
I think I have pretty much decided that unless he thinks the CT scan might be an option { which I don't think he will} I am going to have the angiogram.

cositjustisok · 09/05/2008 19:41

Addisons is an autoimmune disease..like my coeliac and thyroid can also be autoimmune (have borderline reading too!!!)....there is some link between them and cos I am showing a few symptoms of Addisons they ran some tests which showed a lowish cortisol reading (maybe was low cos of time it was taken which is important) not to worried ...yet!!!

Well I think that is a fair question to ask him Winetime..well done you for finding an alternative diagnostic test. If it is less invasive that would be great. He may not have mentioned it because it is more expensive!!! you may well be a candidate..be assertive and ask him..telling him you are frightened and worried about the risks..this may be enough to sway him in your favour (if it is appropriate for you). Explain that you will do what he feels is best for you..as he is the expert.....rub his ego a bit .

Glad you have decided to have the angiogram if you cant have the ct scan....
