steve has been back on the oramorph and needing it quite often so they put him bacvk on the MST morphine yesterday, today when i visted he asked for oramorph twice he is really suffering
his mother came whilst i was there and she said is there any news about steve coming home? i said not yet they are still sorting the funding for the carers, she said does he really need 24 hour carers. i wished she would stop saying these things in front of steve as it is so not helpful.

bossybritches · 07/03/2008 15:53

Tell her to go & ask the nurses/doctors what the answer is to that FFS!!!

Bangs head against thread wall in frustration for OJ who is SOOOOO patient

NorthernLurker · 07/03/2008 16:24

I really don't know how you keep your temper!
So sorry to hear about the pain - hoping they can get that rather more under control soon.

onlyjoking9329 · 07/03/2008 16:26

i have suggested she talks to the doctor about it

NorthernLurker · 07/03/2008 16:27

The thing is will she listen to what they're saying? I don't think she's going to hear it tbh. Hope I'm wrong

BoysAreLikeDogs · 07/03/2008 16:31

Poor Steve OJ, hope they can sort out pain relief quickly.

Good idea to refer MIL to doctor each time she queries the arrangements for when Steve comes home.

And aaaaargh for your blinds.

onlyjoking9329 · 07/03/2008 16:31

she will listen more to those in white coats than she does to me, but she has selective hearing

NaughtyNigel · 07/03/2008 17:07

Hi O.J just read through this. can't think of anything constructive to say - but i'm thinking of you and yours.

bossybritches · 07/03/2008 17:51

Possibly Oj you need to get the docs /nurses to speak to HER -she is SO insensitive (in denial??) she wouldn't see the need to ask anything.

Maybe the white coats can persuade her to back off!!

robinpud · 07/03/2008 20:04

OJ- am willing to steal white coat and pose as doctor and tell milwhere to go how it is . Just name the time and place. I'll be the one with the tazar gun in the pocket.

It's a shame it's taken this to get her involved!

onlyjoking9329 · 07/03/2008 20:15

she really needs to talk to the doctor, i will try and get the doctor to section
her arrange to speak to her.

NorthernLurker · 07/03/2008 20:30

That sounds like a good plan.

bossybritches · 07/03/2008 20:33

Good idea OJ!!

Psst... robin I have a stethescope you can pinch if you want to complete the outfit??

triplets · 07/03/2008 22:57

Bless you all Oj xxxx

Izabella · 07/03/2008 23:11

OJ, I am so sorry that you have had the mistake with the blinds to deal with and you MIL still questioning whether Steve needs 24 hour care on top of everything else!!! But most of all I am sorry that Steve is in more pain at the moment. That must be the hardest to bear because you'd do anything to take it away if you could, but you can't. Like many others, I hope tomorrow is a better day for Steve and that the pain decreases. I have IM'd you. Much love to you, your lovely Steve and your children. xxx

mummylin2495 · 07/03/2008 23:18

is it still thursday the blinds will be fitted ? and do you still have to wait three weeks till they discuss steve coming home ?

onlyjoking9329 · 08/03/2008 07:41

Steve has had a reasonable night, me and the kids are going in later, I am hoping Mil won't be thereas it makers thhings difficult for the kids. She does really understand autism and doesnt know how to be around the kids. I was telling steve the other day that elliot was really excited cos. Someone gave him a new. Thomas the tank engine. DVD and she said, does he like trains. Then? Steve said he has been obbsessed with Thomas since he was 3! So thats only 7 years.
I had a text from Steve brother last night saying that he wwants to come over and see me this weekend, the last time he spoke to me was on sunday when he asked in front of Steve, when's he coming home then and is 24hour care really nessessary. They are the same questions his mum asked me yesterday so I suspect I will be getting more of the same when he vists.
We was hoping the funding meeting would be in a couplle of weeks, NHS couple of weeks may be longerthan my couple of weeks.
Isabella my email is still playing up so I can read your email but I can't reply.

LilRedWG · 08/03/2008 10:13

I hope you and Steve have a better day today OJ!

TimeForMe · 08/03/2008 10:21

Wishing you a lovely weekend with Steve OJ, free from interfering IL's, unless of course they have something helpful and constructive to say

Sending lots of love and strength xxx
