Update on misdees hubby Peter :(

I have had misdee on the phone and she has asked me to update you all.

Peter has been put on the urgent list for a new heart
However, he will only be on the list for 3 weeks. The docs are saying he cannot live on his current VAD machine longer than 3 weeks due to too much build up in his tubes After those 3 weeks they will have to put in a new VAd machine which means more open heart surgery, 3 months recovery and carers and misdee retraining if he wants to come home. He will also be taken off the transplant list for atleast 3 months.

Peter is also considering refusing to let them replace his VAD as he is tired and knows how hard it will be on him and the family. Misdee is very upset by the news and is hoping that a new heart comes in the next 3 weeks so they dont have to consider any options. Peter is the only one waiting for a heart right now but she has told me that no heart transplants have happened in the last 3 months
This is a devastating blow for them, as they were hoping urgent list for longer as it increases his chance of transplant.

Sparkleygothcat (misdee's big sis) is away with family but if you want to email me (her lit sis) I will pass on any messages when is ee her tomorrow.

What a frightening experience for all concerned, I can only wonder in awe at the courage Misdee and family are showing in the face of this. I'm hoping fervently that something comes up for Peter v soon.

I have had no texts today from Misdee so I guess there is no news yet.

fingers crossed that whatever the DR'S decide it makes Peter a lot better.

can understand misdee's aprehension about appearing on TV, she does so much campaign work already. peter's story is very much an eye opener though so no wonder the press ask for so many interviews.

i have just quickly skimmed this trhead, and thank you so much for all your lvoe and prayers. means a lot.

on thursday, i had just arrived at the caravan to see my girls, when peter told me the initial news, and my gut instinct was to turn the car around and head back to harefield. i was ready to go,. but my mum made me stay, again on friday morning istill wanted to go back, but then relaised that with my mum with me, lisad on her way there, and sparkly up north i would have no one to help with the kids if a call came in, so made sense to stop there till today.

I am praying that a heart transplant happens in 3 weeks, as that would be brilliant, and am really trying not to think of the replacing of LVAD or its parts, as i dont want this nightmare to carry on.

So wish I could make it better for you all. Continue being strong misdee, you are amazing and I pray for that call to come soonest. Hang in there .
