I am sobbing as i type this.

Peter is very ill. there is some damage to his brain, there is a real possibility he wont recover completly this time. The peter I married appears to have gone. Sometimes he comes back, its very distressing.

Hospital team are having a meeting on thursdasy to discuss emergency transplant list. He may be suspended for a few weeks, but as yet we dont know.

I have been told he may not get through transplant as he is very very ill. but for now we need to try and stay positive. Its very hard.

I havent told the children, i cant.

I want a happy ending, but its so far out of reach.

Really sorry.

misdee I am so sorry. Some people in my family have had strokes and in time they did recover most of the function they had lost but it was a long process. Even though it seems like your Peter is not there he still is. Hearing is the last function to go and even when it seems like he doesn't know what is happening he may still be aware you are with him - and hopefully able to tell you that later.

I couldn't take your children on holiday this Friday, I'm afraid. If I was free to do so I would be happy to do it.

It is so hard to watch someone you care for being ill.

Misdee, very sad to hear this. Like a few others I have never posted on your threads. I always felt too much of a newbie and that it would be intrusive but I have watched, sometimes with sadness, sometimes laughter, always hope.

I have watched with admiration your strength, your love for your family and your courage. You are an amazing woman, wife and mother. You have all been in my prayers since I first read your threads and I will continue to pray for the happy ending you wish for.

Sending you love and light.

Thinking of you and Peter, misdee. I wish I was closer and could help.

Leati · 15/07/2007 10:12

Oooh sweetie,

I can't possibly imagine what you are going through. If words could make this better, I would type all night but I know better. Just hold in there the best you can and lean on your friends and family.

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 15/07/2007 10:13

so sorry to hear this misdee.

when you say they are going to discuss the emergency transplant list, does that mean putting him at the top of the list for the next heart-absolutely? and they don't know whether to do this?

i hope you don't mind me asking.

if didn't live at the opposite end of the country i would come and help.i'm just sorry i can't offer any practical support.
so i will send my thought, and my good vibes and my prayers.x
