I am sobbing as i type this.

Peter is very ill. there is some damage to his brain, there is a real possibility he wont recover completly this time. The peter I married appears to have gone. Sometimes he comes back, its very distressing.

Hospital team are having a meeting on thursdasy to discuss emergency transplant list. He may be suspended for a few weeks, but as yet we dont know.

I have been told he may not get through transplant as he is very very ill. but for now we need to try and stay positive. Its very hard.

I havent told the children, i cant.

I want a happy ending, but its so far out of reach.

no infection is showing as yet. the clots build up on the tubes and break free. which is why his blood thickness levels are carefully monitored wwith a .5 range.

there is damaged to his brain but that will be looked at more on monday, he cant remember being told this, so managed to get the information out of his doc today.

Misdee I'm glad you have had some comfort with the quality of care peter is getting and that they are finally considering putting him on the urgent list. I'm sorry you all have to go through this and I will keep hoping and 'praying' that peter improves and gets his transplant.

PersonalHouseElf · 15/07/2007 20:23

Just call if you need anything. I'm only a phone call away.

looseleaf · 15/07/2007 20:28

Misdee I know Harefield hospital extremely well as my sister in law had a heart transplant there. There is nowhere better for Peter to be - the expert care and skill there are incredible and our family owes the surgeons and staff so much.
i'm really praying Peter will get everything he needs and he really is in the best place in the world as far as I'm concerned from our experiences

Jbck · 15/07/2007 20:39

I don't normally post on your threads about Peter as I worry that anything I say may sound trite when a lot of us are anonymous nicknames on an internet forum but I've always admired how you seem to keep things together when I'm sure you're heart must be in bits.
Hope things improve and the support you so obviously have from your sisters, family & real friends on here and in R/L helps you get through the days & weeks to come.
Thinking of you & your family.
Jx

hoping to hear better news soon.

MrsRecycle · 15/07/2007 21:20

Oh Misdee am so so sorry to hear about this - life sucks eh - I've just been away saying goodbye to my Grandma who is dying but who has an amazing heart that could keep her going, if only her lungs and blood weren't so bad. It's just a shame she's 86 years old as her heart would do Peter but doubt they would accept it. And she has a a heart of gold. Am praying for Peter.

galaxy · 15/07/2007 21:20

misdee, we haven't "spoken" in a long time but I often think about you and Peter and am so sorry to hear your news. My thoughts are with you and you are in my prayers.

MintyDixCharrington · 15/07/2007 21:21

oh misdee, my fingers are tightly crossed that he gets a heart and makes a good recovery. xx
