My 13 yr old had planter facilitus - in a lot of pain - we got it fixed by a podiatrist very quickly who used ultra sound. He also wears heel gel pads in his shoes and trainers now, and it hasnt reoccured.

thanks, yes was thinking a visit to podiatrist would also probably be necessary.
