doublebluff, I'm sure mine's alot higher than that I'd say, dont think about any facts and figures, just run and run and see what happens.Do it for the enjoyment. Having said that, I weighed myself today.... initial joy because I was 3lbs lighter, so only 1lb off going under the next stone(not telling which one!), but then a bit miffed because I worked out it must be 6 weeks since I last weighed. Going to check the date later.

Did a new route tonight. Hillier than I normally do, but I was soo sure it must've just been 5km, but it was only 4.42km Oh well! I blame the hills.

Waterproof jackets..... when I did the GNR, I really honestly wouldnt've bothered with a jacket even in rain. We just took old tops to keep warm whilst waititng to start, then flung them. You could do that once you dont need it anymore en route. They collect them all up and give the good stuff to charity. And you'll have your obligatory silver blanket thingy at the end I wore a jacket tonight because it was hailing 5 mins before I left the house, but I did 10mins and wished I 'd left it off. It also pongs of sweat now and dh wants it for work tomorrow

oh DB it's not fair is it. i have been training hard for a couple of months now and being really careful with my diet but instead of being 7kg lighter (it was dream but i wanted all the pre baby fat to fall off) i am 2 kgs heavier!!! But don't give up look at other things like clothes fitting you better now (i'm not quite back into my jeans but some skirts) and generally feeling better...maybe

Veggiemummy · 09/07/2007 22:45

DB i just had a look at your profile and apart from having 2 gorgeous DS's you look very trim, i'd forget the % thingy and concentrate on how you feel you look.

DoubleBluff · 09/07/2007 23:05

Aww thanks veggie mummy.
The fat test involved standing on metal plates and holding metal grips.
I have a fair size bust so am blaming that for tipping my balance!

popsycal · 10/07/2007 06:40

Oh bugger.

I have woken up this morning with something seriously wrong with my legs - especially the right one which has been giving my worries lately. I can't put full weight on it and it keeps buckling underneath me. I am hoping that it will walk itself off during the day.......I was hoping to do a very short and slow run this evening.

Veggiemummy · 10/07/2007 09:31

oh dear Pops thats not good maybe just rest as much as much as possible today. at worst if you can't run much the next week before your race you won't lose much condition at all so just take it easy.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 10/07/2007 10:35

Well I did 5k this morning and for the first time in weeks have come back without blisters. So I'm quite excited. Will do 5k on Friday and maybe fingers crossed if my feet are still ok will up the distance enxt week.

Want to do a 10k in Oct that I've just been told about.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/07/2007 13:09

Popsy - give it a chance to rest.

If you really must exercise - do swimming or non-weight bearing exercise. You could end up causing more damage by persisting.

DoubleBluff · 10/07/2007 17:52

Was planning to run tonight but have got in from work andam knackered and starving.
Will have to do a 6am tomorrow!

glitterfairy · 10/07/2007 18:21

TheDuchessDeMimsyNorkington · 10/07/2007 19:26

No running here either. Still full of cold. And the end of this week is busy with end-of-term events so even if I do feel better I won't actually have the time to go out and run.

Popsycal - definitely rest.

Stripey - hurrah for no blisters! Have you changed shoes or just developed hard feet?

popsycal · 10/07/2007 19:45

Not running.
Just got back from parents' evening (on the teacher side of the table) and the last thing I can be bothered to do is run.

Going to try for an easy 20 mins tomorrow eveninhg

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/07/2007 21:27

One of those days then!! I was going to go for a swim, but, realy really dont feel like it, so im not. I dont want to start begrudging it.

Here's for a better day tomorrow.

Im running the great wales run at the end of this month (10k). Is anyone else here taking part? Training is going OK although i should have gone out tonight but couldnt get motivated and now feeling annoyed and guilty!

DoubleBluff · 10/07/2007 22:09

I am on Newport area.

DoubleBluff · 10/07/2007 22:10

krispiecakes · 10/07/2007 22:16
