Week 1 of the 52 small changes challenge - all welcome

So the aim is to make one small change a week over a year to keep it manageable based on a book called 52 Small Changes. I'll post each week with the new challenge and people can adapt to however it suits them.

Week 1 starting tomorrow (or today I guess as it's now after midnight) is to drink more water.

The book advises this method for working out how much you should drink: take your body weight in pounds and divide by two, that number is the amount of water you should drink in ounces eg you weigh 150lb so you should drink 75oz water per day. I can't quite follow this so I'm sticking with 1.5 litres a day as an aim.

Feel free to add fruit or veg or whatever if you don't like the taste of water by itself. I currently have a jug that I've added some raspberries and mint to waiting for me to drink tomorrow.

I will check in at the end of each day to update on my progress and keep myself accountable. I hope you all find it helpful too!

I got really confused when somebody wrote "you can do it Nikki" or similar in place two, my name is Nikki and I was thinking "fuck. Have I managed to accidentally name change to my rl name?!" and them i realised there was nikkinoo Grin

I attempted the princessing once, failed miserably Blush I may attempt it next Christmas though, totally need to sort myself out at some point but this will get me started for now.

I've hit target today, three pints of water and copious amounts of tea and lemonade! heading home tomorrow which is a three hour drive so I may not have as much tomorrow! But I'll aim to drink small amounts regularly :)

It's a pretty decent book from what I've read solittle but I haven't read if all. I'd buy it if it's cheap on Kindle or something but not silly retail prices. I downloaded it a few years ago and forgot Blush but thought I'd actually give it a go this time!

I'm in. I drink far too much coffee.

I actually did do this a few years back and kept it up for months. You pee a lot at the start but then your body gets used to it.

Good morning all . I drank a glass of water while waiting for my coffee this morning . little steps but an easy one . I do think if water is the first thing I drink then that's got to be better for you .

fireandblood which fitbit did you get? I love mine but haven't worn if for a while, whoops!

solittle it's okay but I probably wouldn't by it, it's one that is included in kindle unlimited so I just downloaded it from that. It has since handy charts in the back though.

500ml of water already done plus a mug of green tea. Have filled up my 800ml bottle (it's one of those with a charcoal but that's meant to make it better but have to wait at least an hour after filling) so I will have that in a bit.

one way I always drink more is having a 2l bottle on my desk with a glass next to it - I don't have to get up and when I have a glass of anything I just keep sipping.

What with me being so large apparently I need to drink approx 3l Xmas Shock. Think Think I'll aim 1.5l to begin with.
