Week 1 of the 52 small changes challenge - all welcome

So the aim is to make one small change a week over a year to keep it manageable based on a book called 52 Small Changes. I'll post each week with the new challenge and people can adapt to however it suits them.

Week 1 starting tomorrow (or today I guess as it's now after midnight) is to drink more water.

The book advises this method for working out how much you should drink: take your body weight in pounds and divide by two, that number is the amount of water you should drink in ounces eg you weigh 150lb so you should drink 75oz water per day. I can't quite follow this so I'm sticking with 1.5 litres a day as an aim.

Feel free to add fruit or veg or whatever if you don't like the taste of water by itself. I currently have a jug that I've added some raspberries and mint to waiting for me to drink tomorrow.

I will check in at the end of each day to update on my progress and keep myself accountable. I hope you all find it helpful too!

I'm in. Waaay too chicken to weigh myself to follow the formula Blush so I'll do the 1.5 ltrs too. It's a great place to start - Christmas Constipation isn't the best gift ever. Smile

I'm in. Sounds good. I already drink a lot of water while at work but seem to fail when home. So I'll be drinking more water at home. am also going to drink less booze my body is a temple

Hi oddsocks I'm in! Bought the book on Kindle last night and have read up to the end of week 1.
I was intending to start on 1st January, but that means I will be a week behind everyone else! Might try to get started this week after all!
I am currently in week 50 of this year's challenge, which was finally to stop biting my nails (at the grand old age of 57). The fact that I have so far succeeded in that (for me, huge) life change gives me encouragement that I am capable of making lasting changes.
It will be very considerably motivating to have this thread and connect with fellow like-minded people. Thanks so much for starting this! 😊

I like the idea of small changes. My dentist always tells me off for my coffee habit so I'm going to try switching my drinks to water.

I have a 2l bottle of water (17p from the corner shop!) so am aiming to drink that today - I have had enough to make me wee loads so far so seems to be working!

I'll drink 2 litres a day (I was at this before Christmas but have barely drunk anything since 20th Dec and I've really felt it) as that feels the right amount, if I have more (I'm really overweight so the formula says more) I feel a bit sick and weird.

Tempted to look at the book but know I'm the type who'd rush ahead of myself and that misses the point completely so I'll take your lead on the weeks OP!

Never drink water and I know I should.
