Week 1 of the 52 small changes challenge - all welcome

So the aim is to make one small change a week over a year to keep it manageable based on a book called 52 Small Changes. I'll post each week with the new challenge and people can adapt to however it suits them.

Week 1 starting tomorrow (or today I guess as it's now after midnight) is to drink more water.

The book advises this method for working out how much you should drink: take your body weight in pounds and divide by two, that number is the amount of water you should drink in ounces eg you weigh 150lb so you should drink 75oz water per day. I can't quite follow this so I'm sticking with 1.5 litres a day as an aim.

Feel free to add fruit or veg or whatever if you don't like the taste of water by itself. I currently have a jug that I've added some raspberries and mint to waiting for me to drink tomorrow.

I will check in at the end of each day to update on my progress and keep myself accountable. I hope you all find it helpful too!

I'm in too. Less Diet Coke, more water. I'm going for 2 litres. If I did it by weight I'd be drinking a river a day!

Ahh sorry to hear you have had a rough time helga I always try the princessing and drop out. So far so good today on the water front! I have about a quarter of my 2l bottle left to drink. weeing like no ones business mind! How's everyone else getting on today?

Fender the princessing challenge started the year of the royal wedding (which is where the Princess came from I think). I wasn't involved then but I came across the idea when I was browsing ideas to feel better in the run up to Christmas. So I decided to set up a 100 day 'Princessing/beautifying challenge.
It was basically a list of 20 or so things you wanted to start doing so you hit the Christmas party season ready. So things like drinking your water, face masks, conditioning your hair regularly. The kind of things it's hard to find that time or motivation to do but you can feel better if you do.

I have started on the water today . I am not going to get the book because I will start getting ahead of myself and then it will all seem too tricky .

I'm visiting my parents so I've made use of one of the many random and mismatched glasses and claimed it as my own. It's a pint glass and I usually aim for three to four pints a day. I've had two and a half so far. I'll start today but will do an extra day as I prefer Monday starts, easier to deal with!

Count me in too. Last night after too much wine again (was at PIL in my defence) I decided to rejoin MFP and was shocked at my weight. I am making 2016 my year of health as I am so unfit and overweight. Little steps sound good. Will download book shortly so I can have a read. I am hopeless at drinking water unless it is hot and sunny but I have a 1.5 litre bottle in and will go for that as a minimum tomorrow. If I drank my weight in water the reservoir may run dry.

Partly because today we are having our Christmas with my DSCs and the (non-alcoholic, but outrageously sugary) drinks are flowing! Xmas Grin

Have taken a crap selfie of myself today and will do each week just to mark the changes and to see if I look healthier/happier/glossier :)
