Misdee has something happened with Peter? Are you ok?

northerner · 29/10/2006 09:02

I give blood and am on the organ register.

Are you OK misdee?

misdee · 29/10/2006 09:04

nothing major has happened. he is seeming weaker, more tired, less colour, more infections, more pain. but he is ok.

they say each day on the list is a day closer to transplant, but its also a day closer to death.

i just went in to kiss him on the cheek, and he looks so frail.

Thinking of you all today and hoping you get the call.It is such a rollercoaster you must be exhausted.

Pinkchampagne · 29/10/2006 09:08

Thinking of you & Peter, misdee.
I am already on the organ register.

MorticiaRed · 29/10/2006 09:08

I can't give blood because I have had a blood transfusion recently but I have joined the register and have ordered some leaflets to distribute at work. Good call, Misdee and all the best to you and your family.

zippitippitoes · 29/10/2006 09:09

thinking of you all xxx

I am on the organ register but don't think I'd have anything any use and too old for blood

danceswiththedevil · 29/10/2006 09:11

Misdee - dh and I are on the organ donor register, dh gives blood regularly. I haven't been able to for a couple of years for health reasons but I will make a point of doing it now.
Love to you and your family.

tortUREoisechamber · 29/10/2006 09:12

Im on the organ donor list too. Not given blood yet but will have a look and find out more.

CreepyCrawlyCarmenere · 29/10/2006 09:13

Ok I have just signed up to the register, thanks for the link and I really feel for you and your family.

QuootieSpookypie · 29/10/2006 09:14

Hijack - Morticia, can you donate organs after a transfusion? I declined one, because they told me you couldnt...

NannyL · 29/10/2006 09:15

have given every pint of blood i can since 18 years of age... and have been on the organ donor register pretty much since it started...

QuootieSpookypie · 29/10/2006 09:15

Trinityrhino · 29/10/2006 09:19

So sorry to read this thread.
Have been regular blood donor for many years. Can't at moment cos too soon after dd birth.
Have finally convinced dh to donate blood for first time.
We are both on organ donation register.
Thoughts and prayers with you both

Blandmum · 29/10/2006 09:24

Oh Misdee, sending you both all my love.

I'm on the regester already, dh can't be because of the cancer.

Blandmum · 29/10/2006 09:24

and I have given over 70 units of blood over the years, again dh can't

misdee · 29/10/2006 09:27

how is dh mb?

can you find a link for bone marrow donor as well to add?

OP posts:
Blandmum · 29/10/2006 09:33

He is OK. I'm being a fart about him. He has just had his medical catagory improved by th RAF, but it don't stop me worrying about him.

Thankfully he has a bone marrow match in his middle brother....dh is one of 4 so the odds were in his favour that he would have a match and one did. they other two were gutted that they didn't.

At the momnet he is on 'watch and wait' no treatment is needed, thankfully.

Ever time I see an ambulance going to an RTA I think of you and Peter. God knows you both deserve some good luck

DumbledoresGirl · 29/10/2006 09:40

I am not able to give blood! I received several units in 1986 so I guess I was disqualified when I answered yes to the question of whether I had received blood since 1980. But that was years ago!

I'm on the list too Misdee - joined after one of your earlier posts and told my family. Also give blood and always have. Sorry you are (understandably) feeling pessimistic, it must be very hard to deal with. My heart goes out to you.

SpookySpoon · 29/10/2006 09:55

just joined the list and sent the link to my family and friends.

all the best to you and your family xx

Frizombie · 29/10/2006 09:58
