imaginaryfriend · 16/08/2006 09:03

morning everyone! So what's your alter-ego thread panboy? Sorry I didn't make it back last night, ended up having a long chat with dp.

Another morning's cravings hitting me as I write. I feel jittery and sweaty - is that about right? Or do I have the flu?!

Panboy · 16/08/2006 09:40

Morning IF - sweats and gittery? Bit surprised with sweats through physical withdrawl as you were smoking so little, but it could be anxiety at not having ANY nicotine??? Or more prosaically, just a flu'!! But just don't take another puff! It will improve nothing!!

And no alter-ego thing going on, sister! Just that I am also on the thread where we are promoting eating 10 peices of fruit or veg.( well, that is the daily goal anyway..) and taking 10 mins of extra exercise...come and join us!! The netter who kicked it all off was aghast to find I wasn't a "one thread man"!, and I have been summonsed to her office.....(suspect she has 'control' issues, between you and me..)..but seriously, come to the Green Side..it will comliment your successes with the evil weed??

I saw the 10/10 thread...goodness me you certainly like to be in withrawal of things dont you panboy
One thing at a time for me!

imaginaryfriend · 16/08/2006 18:07

Phew ... another day nearly done then. Actually apart from the feeling dire this morning today hasn't been that bad. it's a good time for me to quit in that I'm not feeling topper physically anyway, a niggly cough and headache, possibly the reason for the sweats? But I took dd to the Diana playground today with a friend and her dd and I felt SO glad not to have to sneak off for a fag! Plus I'm having that gloriously gloaty feeling of superiority when I see women in their 50s smoking and coughing as they pass me in the street. Well maybe gloaty isn't the word, more incredulous, kind of 'why why why???'

So I'm glad. And right at THIS moment I have NO urge for a fag whatsoever, not a tiny little itch. I hope I keep this feeling going I really do.

FrannyandZooey · 16/08/2006 18:13

ROFL at 'cress freaks'

I will banish myself and not darken your door any more, kind people

imaginaryfriend · 16/08/2006 18:20

Hello Franny, why not lighten our door with some wonderful tales of how blissful fag-free life is? I love to think of a point a few years in the future when I feel VERY free ...

FrannyandZooey · 16/08/2006 18:50

Seriously?

Oh well if you insist

Well it is just absolutely bloody lovely to not even think about it, ever. To know that my clothes and hair smell really fresh and clean. To have money to spend on nice things like books and clothes instead of setting fire to £30 - £40 quid a week. To not even know how much a pack of cigarettes cost these days I bet some of you were spending £60 a week or something, weren't you? God just think what you can do with that...

Someone said to me once that you never stop wanting to have a cigarette, ever. Well that is bollocks. You do; I couldn't care less about cigarettes now, and I smoked heavily for about 15 years.

I wish you all the best with it and am very glad you all have each other's support

imaginaryfriend · 16/08/2006 19:13

Thank you Franny, a lovely warming tale. I'm feeling pleased with myself today. Even though it's only just over 48 hours. I quit for nearly 3 years once and went back to it. Madness, totally madness.

Panboy · 16/08/2006 19:53

IF - don't encourage her. Please. She may seem nice now...but..

charliecat · 16/08/2006 19:54

any spanish among us..need help!!!!!!!!

Panboy · 16/08/2006 20:05

CC - it isn't giving anything up at all!! It is just eating more fruit and vg., on top of what you are eating already!! Well, usually I substitute carbs for fibre and vit C but there is no sacrifice involved AT ALL!! Been on the curly kale and savoy cabbage this week, and doing veggie sausages this evening with carrots and with strawberries for afters!! Come and join us??? And doing 10 mins more exercise each day..........just spent the afternoon flag-laying and fencing, so that counts!

And WHO let Frances in. She is like water damage...!!

charliecat · 16/08/2006 20:20

I will type faster....use more calories that way...

imaginaryfriend · 16/08/2006 22:23

I"m a veggie, so is cc, so we must be vegged enough, no? I eat stacks of veg, but hardly any fruit, can't stand the stuff, not even fruit juice. But I had a bottle of Pepsi Max the other day and I noticed that after water it said 'fruit and vegetable juices' so I was pretty glad to see it was so healthy after all.

charliecat · 16/08/2006 22:49

lol, i am a cauliflower addict but it makes me fart Night night, happy lungs all

imaginaryfriend · 16/08/2006 23:14

Night cc, I'm glad I'm not wafting round under your covers tonight ...
