initial tests show he could have cancer of the oesophagus, he is going for more this week

i found out when i was away in thailand, i just got back today

i pretty much know what the outlook is for him if it is the case, but i wondered if anyone has any experience of it

it's such a huge shock, he is only 43

oh dear, so sorry to hear this

I agree the milkshake style build-up drinks tend to be more palatable (esp if you can find a flavour he likes)

fingers crossed the test results come soon so you know what you're dealing with

lou33 · 23/03/2006 13:55

Lou, if you're into the whole vits thinga nd he does get a dx of cancer (I said IF), try this \link{http://www.bristolcancerhelp.org/\place} as they focus on exactly that and I have been told are extremely good.

They can also give advice of emtional support / vits / positive thinking in the run to a dx if you e-mail them I suspect

Can't stop thinking about you and h lou, I really wish there was something I could do or say. Human nature I suppose to want to put things right! Anyhow you are both - all - in my thoughts a lot and I will be thinking of you when the test results come through next week.

Flossam · 25/03/2006 14:43

I'm glad Lou.

Am still thinking of you all lots too.

Bunglie · 25/03/2006 15:03

I am thinking of you
Love Bunglie XX

A quick thought I have the food supplement drinks. I prefer Entera and Fortisip. Some of the food meals, which are more like a yogurt are quite nice also. Have you a good dietician who will give you some sapmples of the different ones as this can be very helpful? The other thing I do is freeze them. The taste is a bit different and they are quite filling. A bit like eating ice cream.
I also have a little book telling you how to mix them with alcohol to make cocktails!! If you phone the number on the side of the carton the dietican employed by the manufacturers, I think it is Fresubin, are really very helpful and give you loads of suggestions.
I know it is easy to say but try and stay positive and remember that this is the best place to have a moan or get things off your chest.
I will be thinking of you and if you want any more info. on the food suplements then please ask and I will help if I can.
Lots of love and good wishes.

lou33 · 25/03/2006 15:31
