Oh gigs hope all ok. Will be thinking of you and sending get well vibes.

kurri enjoy the festival, sounds fab.

I am like a washed out rag. Energy levels are zero. Got DH to take me to pick up my prescription as I had run out of clexane and we then went to get some food. I had to go and sit down and leave it to DH as I felt awful. Beginning to wonder am I ever going to feel well again.

Gigondas · 28/07/2012 17:05

Aw Gracie - sympathy about fatigue. You will feel better again- i remember feeling like that when did rads and then got over it quite quickly.

Odds on will have to stay in as will spend ages faffing I suspect

Gigondas · 28/07/2012 17:51

In hospital now- Doing tests whilst I watch Olympics. Typically temperature gone down slightly

sandripples · 28/07/2012 18:02

Hi gig, just wanted to say hi as you're in hsopital. I hope you get that fever down soon - good timing for watching all the sport though! My first op coincided with the Oz Open in 2010 and I enjoyed watching all that. Hope you'll pick up very soon and don't have to have tons of ABs or anything. Have you been prone to infections/fever?

I loved the Ceremony - we had a little party here - veggie kebabs, Mexical slaw, lovely muffins and buns made by the teens, and loads of Pimms. It was fab and I also felt proud of the whole event. Can't wait to go down later this week.

Shame about Cavendish though.

xx

amberlight · 28/07/2012 18:05

Eek Gig, hope they get that sorted pronto!

graciesmall09 · 28/07/2012 18:06

That's good that your temp is coming down. Hopefully they will get to the bottom of it and your chemo won't be delayed. I'm worried my chemo will be delayed as my antibiotics aren't due to finish until next Thursday and my chemo is Wednesday.

Cavendish was absolutely gutted wasn't he? Me being such a sporting expert (NOT) I kept saying to DH 'they are leaving it too late'.

Gigondas · 28/07/2012 19:23

Taking a load of tests but dr doesn't seem unduly worried. So in for night - Olympics then early night I think.

MaryAnnSingleton · 28/07/2012 19:24

Poor Gig, hope they get you sorted quickly Sad and Gracie am sure you will feel well again - horrid to feel so washed out.

Hope dd's playing went well Kk
Am now in lovely cottage in Suffolk - nice easy journey too. Stopped at farm shop to buy supper. Took ibuprofen and really no pain today, even driving fine.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 28/07/2012 19:25

That's good you are on hols now and feeling a bit better. Smile

KurriotsOfFire · 28/07/2012 19:41

Hi all, - Gig sorry to hear you are in hospital hope they get it sorted quickly and let you home asap.

gracie - I htink the effect of chemo is cumulative, - you get tireder as you get nearer the end of your cycles. And I know it feels as if you won't feel well again, - but you will, really you will xx

I'm glad the pain has eased MAS, any plans for tomorrow? I love buying in farm shops - they have such nice stuff.

DD's playing went very well (I shouldn't say so but she totally outclassed the choir may be biased but I don't think so) we had a good time - some nice bands from South America/Cuba and Zimbabwe. lots of dancing, and I feel rather full because there was a caribbean food stall and I may have had a sort of lovely spicy vegetable thing, with rice and beans. Yum.

Quite glad I was out, because DH stayed in to watch the cycling - he used to do a lot of racing in his younger days - and he would have been shouting abuse at the TV Grin

graciesmall09 · 28/07/2012 19:44

Glad you are feeling better mas. Enjoy your holiday - hope it is a relaxing time.

gigs hope they release you tomorrow and you keep that temperature down.

DH cooking dinner. M&S £10 dine in. Not at all hungry, would prefer to be going to bed but slept for an hour this afternoon so don't want to go too early. DS1 is off to adventure camp tomorrow for 6 days. He is so excited. It will be the longest he has been away from home so I am a little worried. I really need to pack his bag.

graciesmall09 · 28/07/2012 19:46

Cross post.

Glad your daughter played well kurri. I may have been shouting at the TV as well which is very unusual for me because I hate sport. Watching the swimming now.

SweetestThing · 28/07/2012 19:52

gig, hope you get a restful night and that you can get home tomorrow.

MAS, glad you have no pain and had a good journey. Suffolk is lovely.

smee · 28/07/2012 20:32

Gig, what a sod you're being kept in. Hope you're home tomorrow. Sad

Clapping your DD then, Kurri. Hope she enjoyed herself.

MAS, have a great holiday. Hoping the pain stays away. Smile

Been a bit busy here, as I now seem to be running a B&B for all friends and relatives lucky enough to get any tickets. Had 4 staying last night who had tickets for the ceremony. They had a ball, we watched it on the tv. Hmm Still, had fab Thai take out and lovely bottle of Cava which they bought. Could see the smoke from Red Arrows, and hear/ see the fireworks too. DH and I watching with crooked necks out of the attic window. Agree about Mr McC. DH was virtually hurling things at the tv when he realised it was 'Hey Jude' again. Grin

KurriotsOfFire · 28/07/2012 20:39

Smee - you have tickets don't you? - what day are you going? Brilliant that you could hear the fireworks from your house. I envy your friends seeing the ceremony live.

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/07/2012 08:37

Beach today @ Walberswick then see what the weather brings this afternoon
Hope you are up and out soon Gig

Oh and we'll done to dd KK - you must be really proud.

OP posts:
Gigondas · 29/07/2012 11:07

On way home Smile- blood tests erc
So far all ok so looks like my diagnosis of overdoing it was right. I like the non chemo treatment where you take a paracetamol and have an early night Hmm.

But am posting this so can distract topsy whilst I raid the fbs swimming

kk dd concert sounds lovely.

topsyturner · 29/07/2012 11:35

Hey !!!!
Not fair , you know how easily I get distracted by a smooth , manly , 6 pack , dripping with water .....

Dammit , where did all that cake go ? Grin

topsyturner · 29/07/2012 11:36

Enjoy the beach Mas .
And well done to DD kk , proud mummy moment ?

Off to Granny's shortly .
Will see if I can sneak some pud into my handbag for the fbs trolley .

SweetestThing · 29/07/2012 14:26

Glad your blood tests were fine, gig and that a paracetamol has cured you :)

My eye is a bit uncomfortable today so I fear the wound may have become infected. So much for the antibiotic ointment!

Gigondas · 29/07/2012 15:53

Oh no sweetest - hope it clears up quickly.

I spoke too soon- one of tests showed something so am heading back in for another overnight stay so they can give me antibiotics . Pissed off as if chemo still goes ahead on Tuesday (which I doubt) I have potentially one night at home with family (and possibly none at all if keep me in).

Figgyroll · 29/07/2012 16:18

Afternoon all. We have thunder and lightning here - a megastorm Shock It's zapped all the telly signals.

Gig, sorry to hear you've been recalled but at least they want to get it sorted now rather than let it escalate into a full blown infection. It must be awful leaving the little Gigs girls though Sad.

MAS, enjoy your holiday. We've been to Walberswick, it's lovely there.

KK, well done to DD. Did you have leaky eyes?

Oh no, Sweetest, I hope you can get some different antibees asap to zap the blasted infection.

Sending honey flapjacks for the fbs trolley.

Love to all. xx

topsyturner · 29/07/2012 16:56

Buggeration for Gigs and Sometimes
Hope you both get sorted out pronto !

Back from Granny's with some slices of Tarte Tatin (sp ?)
Would anyone like some ice cream with it ?

Pre chemo bloods for me tomorrow .
Then chemo and herceptin on Tuesday .

Nothing on tv tonight .
Might have to watch a film instead .
Got The Help on the sky box , might try that .

KurriotsOfFire · 29/07/2012 17:04

Figgy - it is storming here too - my afternoon's garden had to be cancelled!

I was proud of DD, - but more of her professionalism and the fact that she just got on with the job without fuss (considering that certain people were prima donnaing about - rather bizarre for what was a relatively local event) she was worried about being nervous, but was fine and she really kept the choir centred I thought. And she got well paid which was the main thing Grin

Gig - what a pain you have to g o back in, but better they get the infection stamped on quickly before you start feeling lousy.

Has anyone ever hosted a MacMillan big coffee morning? - I'm thinking of doing it this year in some form, but not sure how many people in the village would turn out, - might be better to see if DH's work would let me organise one there.
