Sending positive vibes for the poor baby Sad

Another vote from me for cranberry for cystitis and irritable bladder. Definitely NOT lemon Confused

Caught the tail end of Ruby Wax's programme about depression last night. I thought it was very moving. DH said they described how he feels (off and on, he's usually OK, thankfully) really, really well.

Washing machine man coming this afternoon. Hope he can fix it, we are awash with dirty washing already.

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/07/2012 10:05

fingers crossed for w machine sometimes - I have been fretting on your behalf.

Sometimesiwonder · 24/07/2012 11:04

Well that's very kind of you, MAS - thanks! Grin

As luck would have it, dd picked last night to throw up everywhere Shock Thank goodness for open windows and a chance to chuck the vomitacious stuff out into the garden until the man has waved his magic wand

I am definitely blaming the school. She was fine as soon as she barfed - turns out they dished out snacks (including cocktail sausages) that have been going slowly off in the stock cupboard all weekend Shock. She has been sent in today (last day of term) with strict instructions to avoid.....

topsyturner · 24/07/2012 11:08

Oh kids and their almost super natural sense of timing eh Sometimes ?
Fingers crossed the repair man can repair !

Well thanks to my afternoon nap yesterday , I was awake till gone 3am again .
Today I am determined , no nap !!!

Baldy head is bizarre !
All of the underneath of my head is bald , but have layer of hair on top . Bit like a weird comb over !
Will put pic on fb group .

topsyturner · 24/07/2012 11:08

Gig !
Sofa now !

Sometimesiwonder · 24/07/2012 11:19

Sympathies, topsy, for the sleeplessness. I think resisting the nap (hard, I know) is going to be a must. As for the combover - oh dear Grin

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/07/2012 11:24

arf @ comb over topsy !

Bloody Cancer , just keeps giving doesn't it ?
Grin

graciesmall09 · 24/07/2012 11:57

Hope you get that washing machine sorted sometimes. Mine usually wait until all the beds are changed to barf.

gigs hope you are suitably duct taped to the sofa enjoying daytime TV.

Well picc line dressing for me this morning and yet again a problem. I now have to go up to hospital (honestly at this rate they will give me my own seat) as nurse thinks I may have a clot in my arm. My arm has been painful since my last picc line was inserted and it is quite swollen. I have been sleeping with a pillow underneath it. She told me not to drive or use my arm but I have no other way to get there. Oh Joy.

Photos fab mas what a talented boy you have.

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/07/2012 12:02

ow gracie that's a bugger- hope it is ok xx

OP posts:
topsyturner · 24/07/2012 12:10

Oh Gracie , not again ?
You have been so unlucky with your picc haven't you ?

Sometimesiwonder · 24/07/2012 12:26

Ooh Gracie, yikes.

Keep movement to an absolute minimum - and good luck! Sad

Clean beds are a bit of a barf magnet here, too. How do they manage it? Confused

Gigondas · 24/07/2012 12:57

Ouch gracie - you poor thing. Hope it gets sorted.

topsy i would just shave it off. Very patchy here and still have leg hair..

Is there anything good you can veg and watch tv this afternoon ? I am fine one to talk as had lie in this morning which then made me feel more dismal for being so lazy. Sad

Gigondas · 24/07/2012 12:58

sometimesis machine fixed yet? Poor dd but Hmm at school for what they served. Am quite paranoid about food as also had food poisoning - none of which was ever from food I cooked but several bouts from
School, works canteen and restaurants.

Sometimesiwonder · 24/07/2012 13:29

Food poisoning is awful, and it doesn't take a genius to work out that meat plus hot weather plus no fridge = Envy

Machine is not fixed yet: my saviour is expected to arrive any minute now.....

SweetestThing · 24/07/2012 15:57

May I join you, please? I hadn't realised this was for anyone with cancer, rather than breast cancer - doh!

I was diagnosed with cancer in the parotid gland in April 2011, had a parotidectomy and radical neck dissection in May 2011 and then six weeks of daily r/t. In remission since February this year and now dealing with the facial palsy resulting from my facial nerve being cut during the surgery. I have a wonky face but I'm still here!!

topsyturner · 24/07/2012 16:05

Hi Sweetest , yes all welcome here !
Pleased to meet you .
Breast cancer diagnosed may 2011 , mastectomy and node removal June 2011 , chemo finished November 2011 , rads finished January 2012 , chemo and herceptin started again 2 weeks ago (lung secondaries) .

Anything is open for discussion on this board , from treatment of cancer to sylvanian families !!!

KurriKurri · 24/07/2012 16:16

Hello - I'm back, slightly sunburnt and bramble scratched - but in one piece and feeling relaxed ( as is DH, who has had no symptoms while we've been away! Smile)

Hi light of my visit had to be meeting the very wonderful Ned, - who is a fab person (as we all know anyway) and we had a great pub meal and chat. (She did force me to eat a very fattening Eton Mess, suggesting it would be rude not to have a pudding, but I will let her off!) Grin

I'm trying to catch up on all your posts, but for now will just say well done to little Ned - what a star Smile - I have been wondering since Friday what he had won Smile

Candle lit and good thoughts to Smee's friends little one, - I hope everything goes well for her.

Hello to Sweetest - of course you are very welcome here, I'm sorry you have been through the mill, - a friend of mine had six weeks of r/t for throat cancer - so I know that is very tough going, and you must have felt pretty poorly. But its good to hear you are doing well now. I have had breast cancer - DX 4 years ago, - mastectomy, chemo, rads and herceptin and tamoxifen - shake me and I rattle Grin - much like most of us on here. No subjects of limits, - dive in with whatever you want to say or ask, - and there's always Brew and cake on the go. Smile

Off to continue catching up xx

KurriKurri · 24/07/2012 16:17

off limits - still haven't learnt to type Blush

KurriKurri · 24/07/2012 16:22

Oh - meant to say, I had a brilliant idea for a novel in the car driving home - its about a middle aged woman called Barbara, and various other stuff - I must write it down before I forget it Grin (She's more interesting than just being called Barbara, although I've only thought of the first page)

topsy - Laurence Fox-by-name-Fox-by-nature, is lovely indeed.

SweetestThing · 24/07/2012 16:31

Thanks for the welcome - I can bring cake to the party :)

Eton Mess is one of my favourite puddings, KurriKurri - perfect for a summer's day like today. Now I want some!!

MaryAnnSingleton · 24/07/2012 16:35

welcome sweetest !

and welcome back kk - hooray that dh didn't have any symptoms while away - hope it continues now you're home. How was your mum ? I knew ned would be lovely !

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 24/07/2012 16:46

Mum was good, - bit wobbly on her legs, but in good spirits. We managed to sort the garden a bit for her - it has got very wild and overgrown. We all went out for a nice lunch together - as a belated birthday celebration, and the waitress took some photos of us all (which I'll try to put up later).

I think I'll be up and down a few times during the summer - there's still a lot of gardening left to do - which suits me, - as you know I'm at my happiest when grubbing around in the garden, like a dirty old mole Grin
