Hi Holsten - lovely to see you, Smile - I hope you are doing well and that biopsies are OK - make sure you hang out with us if you need a bit of hand holding xx

amber Grin

topsy - chemo gave me nosebleeds (more so than herceptin,) - since you are having both - its going to be a bit of a double whammy. Just keep an eye on it, - ring your unit if it gets heavy.
Sympathies for you and Gig over steroids - I hated them - always made me feel awful, twitchy and snappy and tearful. (who said no different from usual then????)

MAS - sorry about the disturbing dreams Sad - they are so exhausting, I know it's the minds way of dealing with anxiety - but it's not very efficient when it leaves you tired and anxious the next day!

I'm having a cleaning day today - house is a tip, I am going to delegate the most disgusting some of the jobs. Grin

NedSchneebly · 14/07/2012 17:00

Slightly belated cheering for kurri's fabulous theory test success, gig being home safely and sometimes brilliant clear mammo!! So much good news - I love it!!! Grin

No news from bollocks ? If you're lurking love, please come back and tell us you're Ok x

topsy how are you feeling today? OK, I hope x

gig you alright, lovely? Enjoy your parcel of tamoxifen love x x x

MAS sorry you're still not sleeping well. When are you away?

holsten! Lovely to see you! Hope all goes OK with biopsies x x

Got DS signed up for village football club today. He is going to look so cute in his full kit, including football boots!!

KurriKurri · 14/07/2012 17:03

We need photos of little ned in his football gear Smile he will look so sweet.

Gigondas · 14/07/2012 17:19

Definitely need football photos Envy as sometimes would like a little boy (not that The little gigs aren't great).

Gigondas · 14/07/2012 17:20

And I know girls can play football (I did) but not seeing much interest in big gig (unlike in sylvanian families Hmm)

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/07/2012 17:29

sorry about encouraging Sylvanians gig
Well done little ned - bet he'll look adorable in his kit !
Am sleeping ok apart from dreaming a lot and disturbingly. Going on hol in a couple of weeks,so that's probably it. My bcn came over to collect a picture I've done for her after a clinic @ community hosp. and had coffee with me and I told her I was winding up to it and to expect my usual fretting email - she said you'll be fine etc which am sure is true !
Thinking of bollocks and hoping she's ok.

Hi ladies Wine aplenty here. Help yourselves Grin

Great news re KK, Sometimes and Gig being home.

Still laughing at Amber and her dominoes. Grin

MAS, loved your drawing and hope you didn't mind me 'sharing' with my FB friends. I realise I should have asked you beforehand. Blush

Hello to Holsten, fingers crossed that results are all okay for you.

Had a lazy day at home. Decided M&S bras not really suitable, the straps are all twisting up so have been looking online at other makes/brands. It would seem the way we measure ourselves has changed slightly but, whichever way I do it, it doesn't come anywhere near the 38E or 40DD I am now. Angry I think I will have to order several hundred and have a marathon tryin-on session at home.

Iamseeingstars · 14/07/2012 21:29

Good to see lots of positive news and familiar names.

Sorry. I haven't joined in. Been struggling both physically and emotionally. Am not recovering and seem to be getting worse and now registered as disabled. Was fine before treatment.

Hv just put a post onAIBI about asking for help, not sure what to do
.
Hugs to everyone

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/07/2012 22:37

figgy bah about bras - and am bery flattererd that you shared my drawing !
stars lovely to see you but so sorry that your treatment has had such a bad effect on you...will go and see if I can find your post. Hang in there lovey xxxx

OP posts:
topsyturner · 15/07/2012 07:58

Stars I know we can't be of any practical help , we can't physically look after you . But any time (and I mean that !) you need to blow off steam , or run an ideas past us , please do !

How has your treatment left you ?
We often forget that the price of treating Cancer can be so bloody high .

Please keep posting , and we will help where ever we can x

topsyturner · 15/07/2012 08:03

Figgy what is the bra problem you are having ?
I ask because I recently bought some Genie Bras from BHS . (like the Aah Bras off late night tv adverts)
They have been fantastic for me .
Might not suit larger cup sizes though (I was an F/G cup prior to surgery , and don't think I would even rate a C now !)
They come with (admittedly tiny) openings that you can slip prosthetics into .

And the BHS ones are cheaper than the Aah Bras aswell !

topsyturner · 15/07/2012 08:09

Mas I loved your self portrait on FB .
I have never physically met you , but it gave me such a clear mental picture of you (and not just of what you look like if you get my drift ?)

Feeling so much better today .
Really didn't expect to have been quite so knocked by this course of treatment . But oh boy was I knocked on my arse !
At one point I couldn't even pick up my (precious) iPhone and focus enough to read or reply to anything .
Never felt quite so helpless before . For the first time I actually felt like I have a serious illness !

Anyhow , enough feeling sorry for myself .
DH is decorating the house . He finished the kitchen yesterday and is busy painting the living room right now .

DD will be horse riding at 11am , then it's off to Granny's for lunch .

Sun is shining here , hopefully it will keep going all day Smile

Big hugs and love to you all x

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/07/2012 09:15

aw topsy - I hope you don't think I'm too deranged !
Echo what you've said to stars too
I have some BHS bras- just regular non-wired and they are v nice- mostly cotton too-very soft and comfy.
My brother is here (well at mum's) as he's working in London this week,so having supper with them this evening- might see him today too-he wandered over last night before supper to say hello.
Have good days everyone x

Stars, hugs and Brew for you. Anything virtual we can get for you to cheer you up a bit?? What's been going on?

Morning all. Brew all round. Off to Birdland today in the sunshine. It's almost like, er, April.

Figgyroll · 15/07/2012 10:13

Morning all. Thanks for the Brew.

Topsy, my bra straps dig right into the tops of my shoulders and online I've read that it's caused by the band not being tight enough and holding everything in place. Yet I'm sure if I get a tighter band fitting I wont be able to breathe. I'm going to Lakeside or Westfield later so will look into those Bhs bras. Glad you're feeling a bit better now.

Stars, sorry to hear you've been suffering with the treatment. I'll find your other post in a bit and see if I can help. Sending you hugs in the meantime.

Amber enjoy Birdland. Unfortunately it would be my ideal of hell on earth and I have a serious 'thing' about birds flying anywhere near my head and would be in a state of panic.

Well, the sun's shining but, like Amber said, it's more like April temperature wise. I am about to tackle my pile of ironing then out shopping.

Hugs to all who need them xxx

Gigondas · 15/07/2012 10:25

Another one that lovesmas pic. Enjoy bird land amber - I am enjoying temporary peace whilst the mini gigs go to the parkESP after mini gig woke at 4.30.

stars I am so sorry you are having it do tough. topsy is right that this takes it out of you in so many ways and unfortunately the physical pain , fatigue and side effects feed our emotional well being.

I have been quite honest about posting on here when I have been in the pit of despair. And grateful for it (and all the hands that pulled me out so to speak). I don't pretend it fixes all but I hated/hate idea of my contact with others being limited as I couldn't get out .

On practical front have you thought about using this to help coordinate care messages and visits.link.

I know it's not rocket science but it might be a small way you can start feeling like something you can do.

topsy take it easy - am feeling more nauseous this time so any tips? Also do you all wear bandages over picc line - I am quite careful with mine(although mini gig has her eye on it which is not a hazard all have) but have not got a bandage this time as forgot to give me one. Tbh I found it annoying and tight when I did wear it.

Gigondas · 15/07/2012 10:25

What you shopping for figgy?

topsyturner · 15/07/2012 11:05

I have tubi grips to go over my picc Gig
Actually I have boxes of the stuff from when my psoriasis was bad , so I actually use a leg sized one over it (fatty arms emoticon !)
I can send you a box over if you want ? Have loads to spare !

Amber , bird world ?
Shudder .... another one here with a bird avoidance complex !

topsyturner · 15/07/2012 11:07

As for nausea tips , I think remembering to eat little and often is the biggest help .
I find grazing keeps on top of it (who me ? Graze ? Grin )

Gigondas · 15/07/2012 11:14

That's what am doing and seems to help. I will swap you some tubigrip for a job lot of Essie samples ?

Birds am not fussed about , it's fish/aquariums that give me the chills (and of course every bloody Chinese restaurant has a fish tank in it doesn't it my love of Chinese food impaired Wink).

topsyturner · 15/07/2012 11:18

Fish tank phobia ?
You are a weirdo ...
Grin

Gigondas · 15/07/2012 11:19

Fish - not tank Grin

topsyturner · 15/07/2012 11:40

Oh well that's perfectly normal then ... Grin

Gigondas · 15/07/2012 11:56

Look If mrs walker hadn't made me hold the goldfish in my hand when we changed the water in the tank when I was in year 4, I would have been fine... Stupid aquarium project. Have you any idea how squirmy fish are?
