OP posts:
KurriKurri · 12/04/2012 17:54

Hi all - just back from a day of yoga and driving practice - including an accidental racing turn Blush

just posting quickly and trying to catch up properly at the same time

MAS - hope you have a lovely break

Gig - hope everything went well today.

OneInEight - sorry you are in hospital - what a pain, but probably the best place to be while they sort out your temp. - I hope they 'release' you soon, and you aren't too bored.

gracie - I had Eight chemos, - and I know several other people who have too - don't be alarmed, it's quite usual. And don't worry about ringing your BCN, - that's what she's there for, I hope she can give you some info. while your consultant is on holiday (consultants do seem to have quite a lot of holidays IME Hmm)

Ned - wedding sounds lovely, All You Need Is Love, is a great choice, and I'm sure you will play beautifully. What a nice thing to be able to do for your Nanny.

amber - hooray fro getting back to being a rugby mum, - hope you can still speak today after all the shouting Grin

Sometimes - are you packed yet? - Have a great holiday Smile

Fruity Muffins (the kind that you toast, not the cakey ones) for the FBS trolley.

KurriKurri · 12/04/2012 17:56

Oh OneInEight - just seen they have put you on IV antibees, - that's good, they'll soon kick in and you'll feel better.

Sometimesiwonder · 12/04/2012 18:08

One - those antiBs are the bees knees. They give you a taste like you have been licking a newly varnished table for some reason, but they are the kiddies. Hope you get out soon.

Byeeee all - I am not packed yet (still doing a bit of work) but will end shortly, pack, drink wine and then go first thing. Have a great week all. x

amberlight · 12/04/2012 19:07

Sometimes, have a good time Smile

Here, the afternoon from heck, with dh's fairly straightforward operation resulting in him being discharged, the wound then bleeding everywhere and me having to rush him back in for emergency action by them. That's one set of clothes he won't be wearing again, and I am completely knackered very tired. Blimeys, do we get regular attender tokens at our local hospitals and clinics??

OneInEight · 12/04/2012 19:35

amber -that sounds like a really stressfull day. Hope your dh recovers quickly.

sometimes - have a great break

kurri - have helped myself to fruit muffin -Jamie Oliver has not made it to this hospitals canteens yet. Although in fairness my tastebuds are not yet recovered from last dose of chemo.

jchocchip · 12/04/2012 19:50

oh dear amber, Wine o clock I think.

:) at kks racing turn!

waves to sometimes. Hope you have good weather. Too much hail here today for my liking...

watching totp from 1977. I don't remember it being so dated at the time Confused.

graciesmall09 · 12/04/2012 20:23

amber what a day you have had. Hope your DH ok now.

sometimes have a great time.

Grin at kurri racing turn.

Today has been glorious here, quite warm and sunny. BCN never phoned back, thought she might of even phoned to say I can't give you the result. Hopefully its not she doesn't want to give me back news.

Well spoke to GP (she phoned me to see how I was). I ended up crying down the phone but she just said my mood was bound to be low and come to see her when my treatment has started. Then a friend text me to say she had been to her dr and was so upset by my diagnosis her gp had upped her antidepressants.

Bandanas arrived today - lets just say they definitely aren't my favourite purchase.

oneineight Hope you enjoyed the muffin. I will pop some Galaxy on the trolley if you fancy any.

Gigondas · 12/04/2012 20:26

Quick post to mark spot - will be back later but mini gig no Mn fan Wink

Hugs to oneineight, amber and Gracie. Gracie I know it's annoying (am also waiting on holidaying dr) but I suspect they may want dr to do results . Nothing sinister but so they can do the "this is what it means " blurb.

graciesmall09 · 12/04/2012 20:33

Waves to gigs holidays for doctors should be banned Wink

amberlight · 12/04/2012 20:50

gracie, GP not very helpful Shock. Might be worth trying Kalms or similar from chemists (speak to chemist)...or what really helped me was vitamin D every day (weirdly). Really seemed to cheer me up and get me through the worst bits. Might not work for anyone else.

MaryAnnSingleton · 12/04/2012 22:32

On phone so can't follow thread very easily but I am missing you all- long journey. Typed a message but lost it. x

Morning all. Hope you have slept and feel refreshed. Just had some porridge for breakfast with milk and honey and find it comfort food :) Aargh, cat jumped on table to try to lick bowl out. He liked it too... Don't tell dh! Going to go out for a run at 8, so watch out for the rain. Day off work here, so I will think of all the things I could do and end up regretting not doing them...

amberlight · 13/04/2012 14:50

Slept ok thanks Smile
Been back to clinic to get dh sorted out again, but enjoying the view of the sunshine from the office Hmm
Brew all round?

jchocchip · 13/04/2012 15:58

I'm a bit late for your Brew amber, but have put the kettle on for another. Have some milk lindt for the fbs trolley, save me from eating it all myself [Embarrassed] Hope dh is sorted now. Bit cold here, I've put the heating on.

jchocchip · 13/04/2012 15:59

of course I meant Blush!

KurriKurri · 13/04/2012 16:07

Hello all, - is there any Brew left? - It's quiet here today isn't it?

Hope DH is OK now amber, - poor chap.

jane - you put us all (well me anyway Grin) to shame with your early morning runs.

Plastic surgery department have told me they've made me an appointment for the 24th April - Hooray, at last!

Trying to do a bit of housework today, - seems to be loads of washing and hoovering - who are these messy people who live in my house?

amberlight · 13/04/2012 16:14

There's always Brew!

Yes, dh getting sorted but have to be his nurse over the weekend. He seems to like that idea Grin
KK hurrah re the plastic surgery!

jchocchip · 13/04/2012 16:15

passes kk a Brew. Hurray for your appointment coming through :) My house needs a good clean, but I'm having a day off, it will wait 'till tomorrow!

KurriKurri · 13/04/2012 16:26

Ooh yes amber - pass your DS over here - I still have watering and dog walking to do. - Does he like ironing too? Grin

Thanks for the Brew ladies Smile

I've booked my driving theory test for May 15th - am now having a slight panic about learning the Highway code in time - I used to have quite a good memory for learning that sort of thing, - but my memory isn't so good since chemo. I'll have to just knuckle down and learn a chunk each day - it's not exactly riveting reading though!

graciesmall09 · 13/04/2012 16:29

It is quiet on here today, isn' it?

I'm sure you are delighted your appointment has come through and you don't have too long to wait kurri

I never say no to chocolate jchoc. It would be rude Grin

amber any chance you could get your DS to have a word with my 2 as everything but xbox and playstation is really too much of an effort. I have just sent DS2 out to walk the dog and he (the dog) was bouncing off the walls.

Well, still no word from bcn. A call to even say sorry can't give you result would have been nice.

amberlight · 13/04/2012 16:54

gracie, arrgh re the BCN - you are having a naff time with professionals. So now there's a weekend of fretting ahead of you? Urk.

topsyturner · 13/04/2012 17:37

Evening All

Been busy here dooin me cleaning Grin
House is now spotless , well apart from where pig/dog followed me and redecorated the windows with German Shepherd Nose Art !

DD even tidied her bedroom

Gracie if it's the BCNs in town , then it took them over 3 weeks to reply to my last phone call Sad

Off to get the boys something called "moldies" Hmm
Apparently they are trainers that he needs for the artificial pitches at school .
You learn summat new every day !

topsyturner · 13/04/2012 17:39

Oh and I finally got my CT appointment . Bearing in mind that they are meant to be every 8 weeks now , by the time I get it done it will be 12 and a 1/2 weeks Angry
Think words will have to be had at my next visit .

amberlight · 13/04/2012 17:40

Topsy, whatever are your lot like!? Gee whizz...

graciesmall09 · 13/04/2012 18:04

Topsy Not liking the sound of this hospital the more I hear. Maybe I was a bit stupid to think when she said 'phone me anytime and I will get back to asap' meant just that . 12 and a 1/2 weeks is not on when they told you 8. Do you see your consultant often?

Moldies Grin - hope that's not how they smell.
