yikes- here we go...

OP posts:
Gigondas · 07/04/2012 13:38

Kk that is annoying re parcel.

Gracie - glad scans are done but second how horrible MRI are . I had two- first one I was sobbing as in so much pain as had to lie on my lump. Second one I was on for two hours whilst I was in full hot flush Mode. Not good .

But I always knew chocolate was good for you.

Now obsessing if wound filling with fluid and feeling knackered . One day I want to be amber or Holsten [busmile]

Hope everyone else having good Saturday- dh on frantic house tidy

graciesmall09 · 07/04/2012 14:12

Waves back to Maryann and everyone else.

Raining here now so good excuse to curl up and MN.

gig TWO HOURS - my goodness they would have needed to get me a cardiac ambulance. I thought 45 minutes was bad. Radiography suggested I get Tamazepam if I need another one [bublush] Absolutely no expert but don't some wounds fill with fluid but it drains back into your system again. Have you a number to call if you are worried and you are bound to feel knackered - you have two mini gigs to look after. I'm knackered and my 3 are 15, 12 and 7 [bugrin]

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 14:43

It is meant to drain away and tbh the Amounts draining were small (about a tablespoon) but like everyone I have lump paranoia (plus I am not sure dh will live through another deluge incidentGrin). Am taking it easy tho (and watching boat race) .

I am glad when people say that they are knackered too as makes me feel maybe it is kids not illness (god knows big gig doesn't have an off switch).

I need some help from the arty types as need to draw a egg hunt map- apparently the easter bunny leaves one [buhmm]

amberlight · 07/04/2012 17:07

Ooo we have some very good arty types here! I'm good with maps, but not nearly as talented an artist as others so I'll let them have first option on helping Smile

Gracie, yup re the MRIs - hate them. Yuk.

KurriKurri · 07/04/2012 18:49

gracie - it's good you have the MRI and Ct done, - it is very claustrophobic being in those machines - so I'd definitely go for the sedative next time!

Hope the wound settles down Gig. - take things easy, I think a small quantity of fluid would be reabsorbed, - am sure the drain has done the main job of getting rid of it.

Only a very amateur arty type here, but could you do a map of the house/garden (wherever you are going to hide them) and decorate it in an Eastery way nice little bunnies and chicks made from fingerprints with a stick on star or drawn X for where the eggs are? Then roll the map up and tie with a ribbon Smile

jchocchip · 07/04/2012 18:50

Wine time I think! [busmile] Ate too much fudge this afternoon (not really in the spirit of lent [buconfused] but I wanted a treat.) Wish my dh would tidy the house properly. Can't really complain though, he did clean the kitchen on Friday while I was at work. May have had something to do with my threat to have the strop to end all strops if I had to spend all the bank holiday cleaning and telling him to do it... [bublush]

jchocchip · 07/04/2012 18:59

Thats a good idea kk. Love the chicks and bunnies! [busmile]

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 19:09

It's a great idea kk - thank you.

NedSchneebly · 07/04/2012 20:23

Waves to everyone!

Concert was excellent - the warm up band were really good, and in the interval DH went to buy me a t-shirt, and managed to get the lead singer to come over and say hello, telling him I was 2 days post chemo, blah blah blah. He was very charming and chatty! I was just a little bit super starstruck! [bublush]

I saw a few of the Wurzels songs, including "I am a zider drinker" and then got cab back to the hotel. All good!

DS and I have used some of your easter stickers MAS to make a Easter cards for my DSis who is coming tomorrow. [busmile]

kurri [bugrin] arf @ [bubugger] !! Did parcel arrive?

gracie scans done now. Tick them off your list, and rev up for the next bit. Stay with us lovely, and stay strong x x

KurriKurri · 07/04/2012 20:36

Sounds like you had a lovely night out Ned -it will have done you the world of good Smile - How sweet of the singer to come and chat.

No Sad my parcel didn't arrive and there won't be another post before they come over, I'll have to post it on to DDIL or we'll have to drive over with it sometime next week.

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 21:18

Is it just me or do you find that you notice (and are sensitive to) cancer refs everywhere? Eg refs ro cancer charity sponsors on twitter, news stories etc.

I suppose was same when had mc and was pregnant .

Just a bit [buhmm] as enjoy a quiet wine looking at computer and seems ro crop up[buwine]

graciesmall09 · 07/04/2012 21:18

Ned glad you had a super time at the concert and that was lovely of the singer.

Kurri that is such a shame about your parcel but I'm sure your DDIL will understand.

We had a Chinese takeaway tonight. It was our wedding anniversary yesterday and we were going to go out for dinner but couldn't leave DD with my mum as didn't want my mum to catch her throat infection. My mum hasn't been well for weeks so that is the last thing she needs. Such a romantic dinner - DH, me and the 3DC [bugrin]

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 21:18

What no easter Wine ...

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 21:20

Grin Gracie and congrats. I am thinking of putting our dinner back as will be on last but one day of rads. Does this seem sensible to other people who had rads?

Having quite a mellow evening watching 70s old grey whistle test . Earlier post was more a Aibu than being upset

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 21:22

And new that's great it was fun, singer sounds lovely and you have truly been touched by show biz magic to see the wurzels.

Talking random old bands,I had to watch deep purple once with dh... That's an evening I won't get back

graciesmall09 · 07/04/2012 21:34

Deep Purple - that wasn't yesterday or the day before. Think I was about 1 when they were doing the rounds [buwink]

Definitely had some Easter Wine but more importantly Easter chocolate. Off to bed now as DD a bit unsettled. She just came downstairs crying because he dreamt she wasn't going to see mummy and daddy again Sad so she is now in our bed - some anniversary this is turning out to be.

graciesmall09 · 07/04/2012 21:36

Just realised I xposted with you gig definitely know what your mean about the cancer references. Last week Outnumbered was on, don't know if you saw it, but the boy thought it was really funny to just say cancer over and over. Lets just say it was turned over very quickly.

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 21:36

Gracie its just a thing kids say- try not to take it to heart. Hope you get some sleep x

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 21:37

Outnumbered
? There is no escape

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/04/2012 22:38

I think that one notices any references to cancer now- we're bound to be seeing things everywhere as it's so much in our minds.
kk's idea for map sounds just the ticket.
Happy anniversary gracie !
gig it might be nice to have a treat and celebrate the end of rads- I remember going out for the afternoon with dh and ds to celebrate the half way through rads point.

OP posts:
topsyturner · 07/04/2012 22:41

Happy Anniversary Gracie , I count myself lucky if DH and I actually remember ours as we have been together for sooooo many years now (together 25 years , married 16 !)
So a Chinese takeaway and a small child to warm my bed up sounds like bliss Grin

They were begging collecting in Tesco today for Action Cancer or summat . And when they (rather aggressively) waved their bucket under my nose and grunted the word "cancer" at me , I'm afraid I got rather stroppy and replied "no thanks , already got some"
DH says I'm a bad bad woman Grin

Oh by the way , tesco are doing some new American style desserts . And If you happen to trip and fall and buy the chocolate brownie one , I don't think you will be disappointed !

Gigondas · 07/04/2012 22:43

[bugrin] at Topsy.
Those deserts sound ace.

Have had too much Wine tonight so can see headache tomorrow

topsyturner · 07/04/2012 22:57

Me too gig , far too much wine [bugrin]

jchocchip · 08/04/2012 07:12

Happy Easter Everyone. Hmmmm should I have chocolate for breakfast? [bugrin]

[busmile] Topsy. Cancer references are everywhere [busad]

jchocchip · 08/04/2012 07:43

Oops easter egg hunt here. Can't remember where I put dh's egg [buconfused] Have eaten a cream egg (175 calories!) for breakfast and will go for a swim soon to burn it off...
