sounds like a great night out topsy Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/04/2012 09:33

sounds fab topsy !
Dad's concert was v good - he was cross that his reed broke though- have posted a little video of them in action on fb ! There was an interlude with a 'reading' which turned out to be several dreary readings. Mum managed very well on the hard pew and ds filmed and photographed like a mad thing.
Hideously wet here - so miserable.

Sun's out here now! Shock

Brew all round, I reckon.

jchocchip · 29/04/2012 15:05

pouring it down here. Cat not impressed.

Gigondas · 29/04/2012 15:07

It's not raining here but doesn't look nice. Dh has lost the tv battle (probably not for the last time) so its Disney princess time rather than rugby.

graciesmall09 · 29/04/2012 18:18

Glad you had a great night topsy although bit disappointing about your meal. DH is overjoyed with result - he is a rugby fanatic and delighted it is an all Ireland final.

mas glad you dad's concert went well and your mum managed ok. Is she feeling a bit better?

Weather here was lovely all day although a little cold but the rain is on now. I had a bit of a surreal moment this morning. We have been going to the same church for about 14 months. It is quite big, 2 services where we always go to the early morning one. Headed into the hall after for coffee, looked up to say thank you to the person serving me and it was my surgeon. We both did a double take and he whispered 'well how are? how you had your first one yet?' Blush He is a lovely man, typical surgeon quite blunt, but has a wicked sense of humour which I love.

Called to see the in-laws this afternoon. FIL is really not well. He is due to go for a bowel test tomorrow as he hasn't been keeping well and was admitted last week as an emergency as his haemoglobin was 7. He had a blood transfusion but he looks awful. To me he has a yellowy tinge. Really praying it isn't anything awful as after my dad's death, my bc we really couldn't face something else.

Hope everyone is having a nice day besides the weather.

topsyturner · 29/04/2012 20:32

Evening All

Posted earlier but it bloody well disappeared on me !

I have my CT results apt tomorrow at 2.30 and I am bricking it .
Don't think I will be sleeping much tonight .

Gigondas · 29/04/2012 20:48

Gigondas · 29/04/2012 21:19

And have posted something on FB for you . Which doesn't make me look in any way mad

graciesmall09 · 29/04/2012 21:29

topsy & gigs will be thinking of you both and praying your results are ok, but I will refrain from posting any 'orange men' as I don't know how to

mas do you have an appointment this week as well? If so thinking and praying for you too.

Anyone else any appointments this week?

Gigondas · 29/04/2012 21:30

mas good luck for tomorrow .

Was there anyone orange in particular you wanted to see gracie? And how is your throat?

Gigondas · 29/04/2012 21:32

On an unrelated note, watching midsomer murders here. Why does anyone move there? The online crime map of The midsomer area must make for interesting viewing.

graciesmall09 · 29/04/2012 21:37

gigs absolute fav has to be Bob Harper from The Biggest Loser US Blush. Sorry topsy but Tom J's hair puts me off.

Midsomer Murders, it's surprising there is anyone left in the village with the amount of deaths there have been.

Gigondas · 29/04/2012 21:38

for gracie

I am amazed people live there too- let alone investigate strange noises at night.

graciesmall09 · 29/04/2012 21:47

You are a star although he is much nicer topless Blush.

thegreylady · 29/04/2012 22:17

Just want to send love and positive vibes to all with imminent appointments.Gosh this thread moves quickly-it is so special to have this where there are people who understand without negotiating the scary minefield of threads on some dedicated sites[great in the early days though they are :)]

Gigondas · 29/04/2012 22:24

Grey- I have to say I have only been here as too scared/ put off to post on the specialist site for my type.

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/04/2012 23:00

Hello all. Wine available for those who'd like a glass but be quick before I nab it.

Just popping in to wish everyone the very bestest of luck for their appointments and results tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you.

MAS, so glad your dad's music recital went well despite the broken reed, and that your mum seems to be doing okay.

Gracie, I hope FIL's test goes well tomorrow and it turns out to be something that can be dealt with quickly and painlessly. You certainly don't want any more on your plate at the moment.

In the early hours of Monday night/Tuesday morning DS2 is off on holiday to Majorca for a week with a group of 'service users' and support workers so am feeling very slightly nervous about it. He's all set to go. DH and I might have a few nights away at the weekend - it depends on the weather.

Scar is healing nicely. I'm looking online for one of those comfy bras you can wear at night. Now that DS1's girlfriend stays over a lot I get embarrassed seeing her while I'm in my nightie/dressing gown with only one boob so thought a comfy bra with a softie under my nightie would look less conspicuous. If you've got any recommendations I'd be glad of them.

amberlight · 29/04/2012 23:23

Best of luck for appointments for others tomorrow. Portacath flushing for me...then Onc on Tuesday. All bundled up in another week of hell trying to get the small business through the recession whilst tired and needing a holiday and feeling like a failure/feeling like running away right now.

Gigondas · 30/04/2012 06:46

Brew anyone?

topsyturner · 30/04/2012 07:09

Good morning

Good luck to Amber sometimes smee and graciesdad
Hope all goes smoothly today .

Lots of Brew needed here please gig
Had bloody awful dreams last night . Apparently we had rats in the house and DH and I had to kill them with a spatula and a rolling pin !
And they kept on biting my fingers , it felt so real that I kept waking up to check my fingers Sad

Don't think I need a psychologist to tell me it's scan result anxiety related !

I really am bricking it .
Has suddenly dawned on me that nearly a year ago they told me to think along the lines of 2/3 years life expectancy .
A bloody year has gone already ...

Sorry to drag you all down on a Monday folks . I won't post any more now till I get my results this afternoon .
Thanks for reading .

l4k · 30/04/2012 07:26
