It'll be done Smee - and it doesn't matter if it isn't - we never eat ours on the day because we're always too stuffed after dinner.

My chestnut wellington is about 18 inches long Shock -for four people Grin - I made up the ingredients and it all got a bit out of hand. never mind - I'll freeze half of it.

I will also raise a toast later, are all the little ones getting excited waiting for Father Christmas to come? I wish all the children of the tamoxifen mummies a wonderful day tomorrow Smile

Figgyroll · 24/12/2011 19:06

Evening everyone. Just popping in to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and, of course, a healthier New Year. I will raise a toast later too, to all my friends on this thread. Xmas Smile

I just have to wrap DS1 and DS2s presents. I wish we didn't leave them till the last minute but it's turned into a tradition and DH likes doing it on Christmas Eve.

We had a bit of an upset last night. Carol singers turned up at 8ish, two young lads in their teens, singing Jingle Bells, then Away in a Manger. I went to get them some money and recognised them from school (several years ago now). When DS2 got home from his club the driver mentioned there was a pot under my car. Both pots containing pretty heathers had been taken out of their wrought iron holder which hangs on the wall and thrown under the cars. I can only assume it was the carol singers as we live in a very quiet cul-de-sac and no-one else would come in. Senseless. Xmas Sad

Hello everyone. I should be doing things to get ready for Christmas but finding it hard to get motivated. Have lit the fire and I'm reading a book... Have to wrap some more pressies before going to bed and find somewhere for dds boyfriend to sleep. At this rate it will be the sofabed in the living room. Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow Xmas Smile

topsytinselturner · 24/12/2011 21:13

Both DC have voluntarily taken themselves off to bed .
Let's see how long it is before they are actually asleep Grin

Morning service, dinner cooked, dinner eaten, wine drunk, walk to river done. Time to fetch a log in then curl up on the sofa and watch a film...

marmitesandwiches · 25/12/2011 19:09

A belated Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you're all feeling suitably stuffed (not in the turkey sense) and relaxed. We are just back from a family day at MiLs. Very warm and lovely - would move in there if I could! Now just to get DCs bathed and bedded and can settle down for a quiet night.

Love to all for a healthy and happy year ahead. x

It sounds like everyone had a lovely Christmas day with lots of delicious food and super presents. Xmas Smile

Is anyone hitting the sales today? DS1 went to town earlier as the Wii game we got him needs a motion controller and he doesn't have one (it didn't mention the need for one on the packaging - grrrr) Apparently lots of his friends had the same problem according to their FB statuses. I am going to busy myself in preparation for my brothers and their families arriving tomorrow but intend finding time out to read my new Jojo Moyes book.

Have a lovely day all.

Figgyroll · 26/12/2011 11:08

Forgot to say, hooray and congratulations on KK's engagement news. I hope DS and his GF will be very happy together. How romantic to propose at Christmas time. Lovely Xmas Smile

topsytinselturner · 26/12/2011 11:15

Morning All

Had a lovely lie in this morning , got up about 10ish . DH now making us all a big fry up for brekkie . That will do us till we get to Mother in Laws for dinner this evening for more turkey and stuffing , yum !

DS wants to go to the shops this morning . He got some money for Christmas that is burning a hole in his pocket , it needs to be spent on games for his Nintendo apparently .

DD , DS , and DH are loaded with a heavy cold . How the heck I haven't managed to catch it off them I don't know ? Am I still immuno-supressed does anyone know ? Chemo finished mid November . Is it still as bad if I get ill now as they told me it would be when I was on chemo ? (sounds really selfish worrying about me doesn't it ?)

So what are your Boxing Day traditions ?
Any weird ones ?

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/12/2011 12:43

waves festively to figgy
topsy am not sure about whether you are still immuno-suppressed- I'd guess it takes a while for your system to return to normal though...hope you don't catch it.
We're off out to lunch at v nice village pub nearby-MIL taking us,which is v kind. Have made half of my trifle for tomorrow and will bake my cookies later (BIL driving down and staying over so he can bring MIL home on 28th)
Have a lovely Boxing day everyone.
kk - is there an engagement ring ??
