I'm glad you got through them though amber!

Have a Brew I am putting the kettle on.

Driftwood999 · 19/12/2011 14:41

Summatontoast - how are you doing, did you ring the bcn about the pain in opposite armpit? It's horrible when you cann't account for pain, so hope you're either getting advice or it's gone! Clear nodes and margins are great. I almost wish the oncologist had not told me that the back of the tumour was against my chest wall and the margin there was only .7mm. Especially as now, I am becoming paranoid about a persistant dry cough!

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/12/2011 15:19

a big hug for amber who has had a horrid trime

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 19/12/2011 15:29

That burn sounds nasty Smee - hope it's not too painful.

Did you get the dishwasher plumbed in OK sparkles?

amber - one more under your belt, - you'll be glad to get them out of the way.

Driftwood and summat - it's very normal and natural to worry about all aches and pains after a BC diagnosis. I think most of us get that even those of us who are a few years past DX, - I always found doctors and nurses have been very good a reassuring me, and never made me feel as if I'm paranoid if I ask about every thing. I think they do understand how you feel.

I've been to yoga this morning, we did a Yoga Nidra (very deep relaxation) session, which was lovely. Then I had a coffee in my favourite place, - which is a little deli/coffee place, - large mug of coffee and a big slice of iced almond bun is £2 -bargainacious.

KurriKurri · 19/12/2011 15:30

Oh poor amber Sad - feet up and a cuppa for you.

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/12/2011 15:30

iced almond bun sounds heavenly ! Was farting man there ?

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 19/12/2011 15:49

No MAS Grin - farting man is at the thursday group I go to, - so I may still enjoy his company before Christmas Grin

Summatontoast · 19/12/2011 15:53

Went to GP this morning who has given me antibiotics for what she thinks is an infection causing the selling under left arm, had a temp and generally feel under the weather so it all fits I suppose.
Not had a call back from BC nurse yet, I know Mondays are very busy for them as clinic so it may be tomorrow I hear from them, hopefully they can put my mind at rest further, although in reality only the tablets kicking in and feeling better will do that (getting the idea I am a bit of a worrier? :) ) drift can relate to what you say re unexplained symptoms/pain and think for me this paranoaia is going to be one of the hardest parts to overcome, I have an appointment with the cancer care psychologist sometime in the New Year which I think will do me good. Have you spoken to GP/nurse re your cough? Hope it clears soon - if it has been around for sometime and is bothering you go back until you get the answers you need to put your mind at rest.
Just about to watch Nativity with DD, possibly with a tin of Celebrations....they were never going to make it to Christmas Day were they! Xmas Wink

Summatontoast · 19/12/2011 16:03

Also thinking of Amber and sending a Brew to all - adding a splash of whiskey & honey for drifts cough. Love the thought of relaxing yoga, it is on my to do list in the New Year as a new studio is opening nearby.

Driftwood999 · 19/12/2011 16:22

Thanks Summatontoast, I did try calling the gp surgery from 8am today, for all of 5 mins, but whilst hitting the redial button, thinking, if I actually get an appointment I'll pick up something worse in the waiting room! What are we like?! Have a hug btw. Have got some crystals from chemist that dissolve in really hot water to produce a strong vapour that you inhale, I did get encouraged, as the cough loosened at bit, sorry, probably tmi Xmas Grin but I've been so uncomfortable pissing my pants with it Xmas Blush Will try that again before getting ready to go out to uber posh restaurant, a friend's treat. My eyes are watering already!

smee · 19/12/2011 17:15

for Amber from me too. Are you okay?? Can you talk to them before tomorrow's zap? Sad

Kurri you must be in the real world again?? Does it feel good? Smile Iced buns and farting man aren't a good mix. Grin

Cakes, how's Mr Cakes. Is he any better now. Maybe the sleep and pressure off from no trip to the States has helped?

Drift, that cold sounds horrid. Hope it's long gone by Christmas.

Just taken a small gang of kids to see 'Arthur Christmas' at our local flea pit. Was surprised, as it's really quite dull. Kids liked it though and a reasonable way to spend the afternoon with over-excited 7 year olds. Have now sunk into easiest option, as they're all pooped and I could see a fall-out on the horizon, so have cooked pizza and let them watch Scooby Doo. Grin

Hope everyone's okay out there. Haven't heard from Pink for a while. PINK, ARE YOU OKAY?? Smile

amberlight · 19/12/2011 18:00

No, I'm not ok. I have emailed them. No response. When I'm not ok I can't talk directly. Thank you all for hugs and thoughts and kindness.

smee · 19/12/2011 18:34

Oh dear. What a shame after you thought you'd sorted it all and so close to the end too. Hope they get back to you with some reassurance. Sad

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/12/2011 19:00

Sad amber
Well done smee - not a bad mother at all ! Ds is occupied with his 9 yr old cousin - he is very patient and bless him,he did his revision this morning before she came.
I think I've wrapped everything and we're having supper at mum's so will wrap her things for my dad. Am having festive coffee tomorrow with a friend.

topsytinselturner · 19/12/2011 19:44

Right , I am pouring everyone a very large Baileys !
Amber you get the pint mug !
I really hope they get their heads out of their arses and respond favourably to your email , pronto .

I am having an extremely large Baileys as DH came home in a huge strop today . He is just stressed out , I know this . But he is such an arse to everyone when he gets like that .

Being a good mummy to challenge smee and feeding my DC (and me) fish fingers , chips and beans Grin

amberlight · 19/12/2011 19:54

Oh splendid.

smee · 19/12/2011 20:14

Topsy, you've tinged my tastebuds with nostalgia. That was a huge treat for us as kids. Smile Sorry your DH is being an ass. Mine was being a bit tetchy earlier, but that was due to the small gang of kids harassing him for cheese on toast. Poor thing was totally stressed out trying to make it. Grin

Might not be here for a few days, as we're off to visit my brother and exchange Christmas presents tomorrow. Just me and DS, so we'll jump on a train. Quite like doing that. Wishing you all a good couple of days, Amber, you especially. Maybe top up that mug of Baileys for Rads tomorrow. Smile

sandripples · 19/12/2011 21:32

Amber, you haven't put any feet in anything, and I hope you're managing the current problem.

I've been working at home, got the car serviced and decorated two cakes (VERY beautiful!) and my DS dod lots of wrapping for me. Phew.

I think I need a new Christmas plan for next year. It will involve having 2-3 days off before Christmas.

MaryAnnSingleton · 19/12/2011 22:15

well done with cakes SR
Have a lovely visit smee and thanks for kind email Xmas Grin
Have been to mum's for her amazing shepherd's pie- my favourite thing. I wrapped dad's presents for her, noting the superior wrapping paper (ours is Sainsbury's)
Really hope they have taken note amber and that tomorrow is less awful for you x

Hi all.

Happy Christmas and love and health to each of you. I haven't been here for a few days because I have been busy but now I am back I see the facebook Like button is still there. I'm not going to post. I will see you all, I hope, in the Tamoxifen Ten closed area (on Facebook, ironically) , but it will probably be after Christmas.

See you there, and possibly around the site here talking rubbish, but I'm not happy posting here any more. Sad

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/12/2011 10:13

oh cakes it's a bugger isn't it...will nip to Tamoxifen Ten to talk to you- and direct everyone there, those of you who are newer and aren't on it...

OP posts:
topsytinselturner · 20/12/2011 10:15

Its alright to post here cakes . I think we have all agreed that we shall NOT be using the new facebook button . Although this is not a closed board , we don't feel the things we discuss here need to be plastered all over facebook !

And a very Merry Christmas to you too Xmas Smile

MaryAnnSingleton · 20/12/2011 10:28

we would miss you if you didn't post here cakes

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 20/12/2011 12:20

Have a lovely Christmas Cakes, - it is very sad that you don't feel you can post on here any more Sad - the fb thing hasn't really been thought through by HQ at all - you will be really missed here.

But if you are going, it is the boost I need to get DS to help me join FB when he's here at Christmas, - I've been holding off, but I really don't want to lose touch Sad

Has any one pleaded with HQ not to have the like button on our thread? I'm happy to do it if people want me to, but I'm probably not the best person, because I'm very ignorant about FB and all it's workings.
