Would this be such a bad idea? I hate labour and tories. But I don't know enough about Reform.

The Reform campaign seems to be littered with “mistakes”, it’s almost as accident prone as Sunak’s.

@DuncinToffee it seems to have been sabotaged by a lot of lefties. All people can do is vote hard right to keep Labour centre because they are highly likely to win. I am not against this group btw!

Let's hope Labour will take on the hard right rather than appease them.

All signaling and then denied. How very convenient. Only fools don’t cop on to what is meant.

Let's not. Instead, let's hope the weak Labour leader keeps his promises and keeps out the far left. If he let's them creep back into his party, we will be going to hell in a hand cart. The country might be a cesspit atm, but it will be even worse if the left try and wrestle power from him. The only reason labour will get in on Thurs is because the Tories are currently crap, not the case that labour are good. They really are'nt.

That's also how the Tories got in. It's kind ofo how elections work.

'The weak labour leader' - do people really talk like that except when they're evangelising? Hmm
Also you don't 'wrestle' power from someone. You 'wrest' it.

Georgie David, who was standing for Reform in the seat of West Ham and Beckton, said she was quitting with “immediate effect”.
Ms David said in a statement first issued to the BBC: “I am hereby announcing my decision to leave the Reform Party and stand down as their candidate for West Ham and Beckton, with immediate effect.
“I am in no doubt that the party and its senior leadership are not racist. However, as the vast majority of candidates are indeed racist, misogynistic, and bigoted, I do not wish to be directly associated with people who hold such views that are so vastly opposing to my own and what I stand for.”

nomoretoriesforme · 02/07/2024 13:57

The bottom line is if you don't want Farage in politics you respond to reasons people are voting for him. You can of course ignore them and do the opposite- good luck , as people will vote far right

I think in lots of cases that isn't true.

We don't give in to terrorists

Or toddlers having tantrums

We don't empathise with abusive men

The social contract and social stigma are powerful things. I don't think our social contract should include racism and misogyny.

@CassieMaddox You are in for a big surprise, toddler Cassie

The name calling was utterly uncalled for here. @CassieMaddox was just making the point that you don't negotiate with people who are manifestly unreasonable.

We do need to address a swathe of social and economic issues. There are different ways of doing this and it's going to take a lot of time. Reform's proposed solutions are neither workable nor affordable, and many of their stakeholders (can't really call them members, since it isn't a political party) have views and ideas that are manifestly objectionable. Unless of course you think racism and misogyny are perfectly acceptable.

nomoretoriesforme · 02/07/2024 21:52

@HauntedPollingBooth You reap what you sow. Don't be a hypocrite. You started first

The worst of ideas. But this kind of wide eyed disingenuous question isn't far behind.
Pandering to the extreme right NEVER ended well
And now MN HQ have done it by allowing a final reply to a supposed closed thread basically saying " be nice to fascists or it'll all be your fault when they take over".
NO. NO. NO. Do not be bloody nice. Fight with all your might

Excuse me? Reform are not fascists but they are an extremely unpleasant crowd with bonkers policies which would cause most people real hardship and distress. Why on earth would you humour them in any way. This is a bit like the #bekind thing with regards to TRAs.

CassieMaddox · 06/07/2024 12:04

Nigel Farage and Reform Ltd have all the characteristics of being fascist. I don't care if their followers find that difficult to hear. Maybe they could think about why posters would say that rather than just acting all hurt by it.

I take back the comment that they are not fascists. My son just told me that Farage was a member of the National Front. Fair enough, they are fascists.

I just did.

I will tell him!

No need to be rude though. All you needed to do was post the link and ask me to look at it.

Well labour need to get a grip on illegal immigration otherwise reform will gain a lot more support in future.

What illegal immigration are you talking about here? Because if you are talking about people arriving in small boats and claiming asylum, none of them are actually illegal under international law until the moment their asylum claims have gone through the full process and been turned down.

MgW1 · 06/07/2024 17:56

Yes that is what I am talking about and I am referring to the Illegal Immigration Act 2023. This group has got a bit too hostile now , it's OK to have a differing opinion!
