Thank you for the new thread.

As a result of something that came to light today, I've decided to go back to my origins and start again semi-acronymically. Hopefully far enough to elude an AS, but hopefully close enough to be recognisable to those here. Happy to clarify by PM.

My emojis aren't working! Anyway I'm here.

Went to look at 6th firm college for DD2 tonight. At least I knew what questions to ask this time round. She wants to do an ICT BTEC we think. Can you believe last year there were only 3 girls in a year group of 62! I knew it would be unbalanced but never thought it would be that big a difference. DD2 is at an all girls school at the moment so would be a huge change but she did say that they all looked like geeks.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/10/2018 08:47

Knittinganewme · 19/10/2018 09:05

Don't tag me because I'm here. I left George in the other thread.

LoniceraJaponica · 19/10/2018 09:13

I'm here as well, having a Brew

I would have a tea but I have no milk, no anything as I've not shopped since sometime last week. I can't leave the house until I know I'm not going to need the toilet but until I leave the house there can be no tea. Tricky.

LoniceraJaponica · 19/10/2018 09:36

Oh no. I hope you haven't got your DS's bug Knitting. Can you do an online shop?

LoniceraJaponica · 19/10/2018 09:39

A useless piece of information - inspired by the thread tile.
Our local train timetable changed this month and it is called the Leaf Fall timetable. Isn't that romantic sounding. We get a heavy duty engine travelling up the line late at night every night to clear the leaves at this time of year.

Knittinganewme · 19/10/2018 10:03

We have had the same thing I think but with slightly different symptoms. I think I'm over it now, my digestion seems to have returned to normal. He is still vomiting but less frequently.

PandaG · 19/10/2018 12:16

Hello! Thanks for new thread!

NoHaudinMaWheest · 19/10/2018 12:27

Hello thanks for the new thread.
I am sorry several of us have been feeling down mentally or physically or both.

Today I have to phone to start ds's PIP claim (transferring from DLA). I also have to go up for dd's face to face PIP interview ( a renewal) in a couple of weeks so I am feeling rather stressed.

I am also missing dd on random odd occasions. The White Company catalogue came yesterday. Dd and I usually coo over the babies at the end together and .. she wasn't here. Sad

Nettleskeins · 19/10/2018 13:00

more autumn cheerful songs! [continued from last thread]
"we plough the fields and scatter
The good Seed on the Land
But it is fed and watered
By God's Almighty Hand" there's more but I won't sing too loudly Smile as it is very peaceful outside here today and my virginia creeper is now bright red

The electrician finally fitted my smoke alarms too and mended three sets of lights that hadn't worked for...well, a long time..I spoke to ds2's LA speech and language therapist at school, and found myself talking non stop whilst complaining about him talking non-stop Blush So too lots of stressful but minor things dealt with today.
the lights in my bedroom have revealed...well...even more dust..I'm looking forward to cleaning it properly as I have the house to myself this afternoon, no stressed kids needing love and care, no interruptions, as it is HALF TERM yeah!! I also made scones with some sour milk.

Nettleskeins · 19/10/2018 13:03

oh another poem, by Hopkins:

Margaret
Art Thou Grieving
Over GoldenGrove Unleaving

must look that up properly..did I get the words slightly wrong. Sometimes I prefer not to know what the real words are, only my half memory Blush

catslife · 19/10/2018 14:19

Signing in to join new thread. Tagging me wouldn't work as the email address that I originally joined MN with doesn't work either. Need to work out how to change email address or consider a name-change.

UrsulaPandress · 19/10/2018 14:57

I saw cranes.

voilets · 19/10/2018 15:39

Being a teacher, I always remember Keats around this time:
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For summer has o’er-brimm’d their clammy cells.

Bit fancy but I like it.

voilets · 19/10/2018 15:40

Cranes sound cool. Any piccys?

flatmouse · 19/10/2018 15:46

Hello all. Lonicera hope work continues to improve for DD. OYBBK hope things are better soon. Marmite how's the xmas shopping going? Have been to first 6th form for DD. I'm not that happy with her choice, but trying to stay open minded and supportive - it's her life!

DS back today (although potentially we won't see him until tomorrow!). Really looking forward to seeing him. It's been 5 weeks. DH has done some shopping so he'll go back loaded up with goodies, and we've pooled our change so he can continue to do his washing! (Change a real issue).
