I have had a good long look at the list and imported it into excel to add/delete where required. It is brilliant. Thank you so much marmite

Oven gloves have been added

Nettleskeins · 11/01/2019 17:32

oh dear, another slightly dispiriting day with ds1 hanging around the house doing nothing in particular. I made him do 4 jobs for me. which took about 40 mins. And paid him a fiver. which dh said was unnecessary..

anything to motivate him..Blush

after working for a while he said he felt dizzy and needed to lie down. Confused

dd has finished her exams. ds2 is planning the next football outing. I've finally sorted my tax return out. The cats are draped around me, very relieved I've stopped tidying, which they detest. They love little piles to curl up on.Hmm

captainoftheshipwreck · 11/01/2019 17:45

I think a cat should be added to the list

MsAwesomeDragon · 11/01/2019 18:21

That list is significantly longer than the list we had. I pretty much left DD to it, there are shops at uni if she'd forgotten anything 🤷. She seemed to take enough that she's coped happily, and if there's anything she needs there's always Amazon.

Marmite 2 more treatments seems like you're getting there. Here's to full health very soon FlowersWine

DS2 has bought himself a pair of glasses with non-prescription lenses and has started writing poetry. 😂

I have to remind myself that at that age I went around quoting Milan Kundera novels and only ever used black & white film in my camera.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 11/01/2019 22:11

oh bless him!

DD has found little silicone hand things more useful than oven gloves, if she left the oven gloves in the kitchen they were used for all sorts!

She has enjoyed her first week back.

DS1 goes back tomorrow. Then next week we start the sixth form and a level choosing process for DS2.

AwesomeDragon if things don't work out with the friend's house, the student lets are really good in her uni town. No fees upfront (no deposit at all) and all inclusive bills including WiFi and TV.

captainoftheshipwreck · 12/01/2019 10:46

I am now trying to think of other uses for oven glovesConfused

Knotaknitter · 12/01/2019 12:03

Other people's oven gloves can be used for wiping up spills and cleaning the floor just like tea towels

Nettleskeins · 12/01/2019 12:34

we use ours frequently as emergency tablemats for hot saucepans. There were two laid out on the kitchen table this morning from last night's supper Blush

First how wonderful. this is the year I want to write a proper diary, failing poetry or running. I used to write it at that age certainly. It was gloomy stuff, usually related to unrequited love. You must be much younger than me, Milan Kundera was my early twenties! I still remember the poor crow.

I failed to get up for the Park Run this morning. Finding it difficult to inspire myself to get out there amongst all those bustling striving fit "people". will have to try to do a run now, seem to be plagued by wintery ailments, itchy ears, sore throat brewing, interrupted sleep.

Nettleskeins · 12/01/2019 17:24

have taken lots of exercise and a 1.5km run.
then I had to call ds1 to rescue me with his debit card as my card didn't work in sainsbury's. that booted him out of the house. He carried my shopping home for me too.
then nice chat with him and lunch
a bit of heavy work in the garden (me) back to his bed (him - sigh)
others out at football, and brunch with a dance friend.

Feel SOO Much better after my tortuous run. why is it so hard to get out though? Smile

LoniceraJaponica · 12/01/2019 17:26

I feel your pain Nettle. The weather is horrible here today. I am a fair weather runner as I find it hurts my lungs to run when it is very cold.

UrsulaPandress · 13/01/2019 17:10

Oh god. I’ve pissed on someone’s chips on the fb group.

TheFirstOHN · 13/01/2019 17:19

Ooooooh...

LoniceraJaponica · 13/01/2019 17:27

Which FB group is that?

TheFirstOHN · 13/01/2019 17:31

Lonerica it might be WIWIKAU (What I wish I knew about university).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/01/2019 17:33

I lurk in that group, so I'll have a nosy too Grin

I need tea biscuits and gin and a telling to buck up. We are just back from dropping dd off and I feel all wobbly and sad. It's so quiet without her :(

TheFirstOHN · 13/01/2019 17:39

OhYouBadBadKitten our house feels very quiet at the moment too.

DS3 asked "Are you thinking about how much you're missing DS1?"
I replied "Well I am now..." Hmm
It turns out that he (DS3) is missing him quite a lot.

TheFirstOHN · 13/01/2019 17:41

We have a family trip to visit him in two weeks, so that's something to look forward to.
We're all going to an event which happens to be in the city where he is, and he said he'd like to come along too.
It'll be the first time the younger three will see where he is living.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/01/2019 17:42

That will be lovely :)

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/01/2019 17:43

It's funny, cos she's often not around. It's a different kind of silence though isn't it.

OP posts:
LoniceraJaponica · 13/01/2019 17:44

Ah yes, I withdrew from that group when DD decided that she wasn't going to university yet. I might rejoin.

marmite your list has been so very useful. DD and I stocked up on a few more bits from Sainsbury's today. She did her usual "I wish I had seen this crockery before we bought the other stuff" - grr!

UrsulaPandress · 13/01/2019 17:53

I’m on my own then as it hasn’t really been that bad dd going back. But I am still on dog watching duty. And she phones or FaceTimes two of three times a day. She has just phoned to say she might be back next Sated for a party and I’m trying to dissuade her.

Mind you, if I posted a photo of her bedroom you would probably understand why.

TheFirstOHN · 13/01/2019 17:55

Yes, I do not miss his stuff.

marmiteloversunite · 13/01/2019 18:19

Lonicera it makes me happy that you like my list. I love a list!!
My DC moan when the notebook comes out!
