I know its been done before but what do you call the end bits of a loaf of bread?

I call it one thing DH (who was brought up 400miles away) calls it another and DD19 calls it something totally different(wrong!).
Please help me prove noone else calls it what she does!

Always called it the crust. Until through a post like this I discovered bum end!

Crust for me. Dh and dc say end.
I'm the only one who actually eats it in our house (though for toast only, never in a sandwich).

Yes, and at the end as well. It is the outer layer of the loaf.

It's the outsider 🙂. But am loving the idea of the next one in being called the buffer, that's exactly what I do too.
