I know its been done before but what do you call the end bits of a loaf of bread?

I call it one thing DH (who was brought up 400miles away) calls it another and DD19 calls it something totally different(wrong!).
Please help me prove noone else calls it what she does!

Crusts.
I always thought heel referred to the end bits of cheese.

Me: Crust (English)
DH: End piece (Scottish)

My “d”H: I don’t know, the toe?

The butt 🤣 forgive me, I'm Australian.
Used in a sentence "piss off, I'm not eating the butt".

So I say crust I'm from Yorkshire dh calls it the heel he's from Scottish Highlands.
DS calls it the bum!

Heels.

The crust is the outside of the entire loaf. Each slice has crusts but only the two end pieces are heels.

I call it the nobby but all of DH family call it the knocker

The heel (SE). The crust is the top bit.

This is what I always say too!

But I call it "the end"

Crust in our house. And the next slice in is ‘the buffer’ never eaten but used as an extra layer of freshness
