I feel like we haven't had one of these threads since the evenings have started getting lighter and the weather (hopefully) is getting warmer.

I am absolutely sick of choosing what we eat every single day of my life so everybody please tell me what you're having tonight and inspire me!

Bolognese macaroni bake for us. I have tried and failed many times at making lasagne, I just can't get it to set properly so I came up with this alternative and I like it just as much and its much less effort!

SillyYak · 16/04/2023 14:20

Spaghetti Bolognaise. Sunday Roast is a non-negotiable in this house usually, even in the height of summer, but DH and DD getting home late tonight after a weekend away at his parents’ so the chicken is getting roasted tomorrow.

ItsCalledAConversation · 16/04/2023 14:42

Chicken and veg curry (I’ll use a patak’s spice paste) with rice and naan and mango chutney, maybe some cucumber raita for me DS and DD.

Plain boiled chicken and rice for DP cos he’s got the shits, ha. (He deserves to have the shits by the way)

ChrisPPancake · 16/04/2023 14:51

Dh is making us fake KFC.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 16/04/2023 15:36

Breaking away from the Sunday Roast tonight (did that last night), we have cod in a nduja and tomato sauce with homemade flat breads and some form of salad (I might delegate salad making!)

BuddhaAtSea · 16/04/2023 15:37

Kedgeree. I love the stuff.

Farmgirl12 · 16/04/2023 15:44

We’re having chicken with potato salad, coleslaw, salad and a slice of olive bread.

a change for us here as we normally have a roast but just fancied potato salad

dotdotdotdash · 16/04/2023 16:04

I love kedgeree too @BuddhaAtSea! We’re having salmon with egg-fried rice and greens

Bbq1 · 16/04/2023 16:06

Pork Roast with boiled potatoes, my homemade roasties, veg (haven't decided what yet) thick gravy and apple sauce. Mmm, looking forward to it. Roast is pretty much non negotiable here too unless we are out/busy. Occasionally have something else but our ds especially absolutely loves a roast dinner.

murasaki · 16/04/2023 16:06

Just finished making mushroom and tarragon soup. I'll have a cheese and salami toastie with it as I am lazy on a Sunday and DP is away.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/04/2023 16:07

Trying this chowder - adding a sweet potato because it needs using up. Will eat it with nachos and guacamole.

No idea! One DC is sick and DH is looking pretty peaky.... So it will be just dc2 and me foraging this evening.

I love these threads so this is a bit of a cheeky place mark

Bunce1 · 16/04/2023 16:09

We rarely have a toast as neither me or the kids love them. Tonight we are having a freezer clear out supper.

Children are having slag bol
DH and I are having soup and a lentil salad thing I will cobble together.

berrypop · 16/04/2023 16:14

We're having Thai Red Curry with green beans and tenderstem.

AppleJack43 · 16/04/2023 16:21

Lasagne, chips and salad. I'm a bit hungover after a good night out with friends last night so in need of a heavy carb-fest.

CrepuscularCritter · 16/04/2023 16:23

I made kedgeree yesterday. Smile

Tonight I have bacon that needs to be used. So either bacon bagels, or possibly a bacon and tomato sauce with pasta.

Therunecaster · 16/04/2023 16:26

Homemade cottage pies with a thick layer of good cheddar. Green beans, extra garlic garlic bread and lots of red wine to aid digestion! Smile

Skyeheather · 16/04/2023 16:27

Chicken curry with rice and naan bread. I don't do a roast in the spring and summer.

Blueberrycreampie · 16/04/2023 16:32

Roast chicken with lots of veg and mashed potato with wild garlic and parsley. Decided to give roasties a miss as it's been warm and sunny today. Sticky toffee pud with double cream for afters.

mrsbyers · 16/04/2023 16:33

Meatballs and pasta here with strawberry cheesecake for pud - hospital food which actually isn’t too awful !

Razorrainbow · 16/04/2023 16:36

BBQ pulled pork, corn on the cob and homemade baked beans.

mackthepony · 16/04/2023 16:36

Loving the idea of slag bol

dizzygirl1 · 16/04/2023 16:36

Meatballs and spaghetti tonight.
When I was making it I made lasagne for tomorrow (and 2 for the freezer) so there is a meal ready for tomorrow after the first day back to school/work as otherwise I struggle and would probably end up with something on toast or takeaway.

changer121 · 16/04/2023 16:38

Thai turkey lettuce cups with noodles, griddled courgettes and peppers .

Very much looking forward to it!

Corkcobain · 16/04/2023 16:41

Pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings,
root veg mash, peas, brocoli, stuffing and gravy 👌 not exactly summery but it's what we fancied.
