I’m collecting two magic bags today..

From Too Good To Go! Have had mixed results previously, once I got some sourdough bread, organic lamb, organic pork and lots of veg for 4 quid! But last time it was a gone off artichoke, peaches and squashy bananas. Does anyone else use it?
One bag is from the local health food shop, and one from a local cafe. Might ask for recipe suggestions later depending on what I get.

I tried to do this last weekend. We were at a motorway services which had a Costa - checked the app & it said one was available, so reserved & went to collect only to be told 'no they didn't have anything'? App was still showing as available. Cancelled the order & so didn't get charged but kind of put me off if the app isn't actually accurate. I'd assumed the app worked off the shops notifying them they had packs available; if the app is just assuming they will because they usually do you could waste time going to find nothing there.
Has put me off using it again unless I happen to be at the location anyway.

I’ve got a cafe Nero and a spar bag for this evening. Both within walking distance. Who knows what it’ll be like.

Café Nero did well for c. £3.50. The woman in the shop did say the bags are particularly good today. DS is currently eating the yoghurt.

Just picked this up from American Pizza Slice, very happy! 😋

My Costa bag was more an M&S bag and DH was unimpressed to find fruit instead of the muffins he got last time. I've given him the cake and will enjoy the rest myself.

I picked one up from Budgens today for £5. A bit disappointed as the last one I had was very good:
Rustlers burger
Turkey slices
Warburtons bread
Blackberries
Farm shop pork pie
Large Innocent smoothie
Cajun Onion rings

Will eat everything but the burger. Can’t even persuade hollow legs DS to eat that one 😂.

Spar was less exciting. Although not terrible.

two scotch eggs
a pint of milk
two Toffee yoghurts
a pack of barbecue chicken chunks

The most expensive magic bag I have had with most definitely the least impressive contents:
1 bean paste pancake (rated yuk by my whole family)
1 rice dish - too salty
1 noodle dish - tasted unpleasant
So nothing that any of my family will actually eat.

I had been hoping for some nice cold sushi! I wouldn't bother with this one again.

We got a papa Jon's pizza one and bar burrito tonight :)

Oops! We got 1 large pizza for £3

And 4 burritos for £4 steak, veggie and 2 chicken :)

Greggs was good for me yesterday; 2 filled baguettes, a veggie bake, 4 glazed doughnuts, 2 yum yums and a muffin for £2.59

Nero got cancelled

Costa was disappointing, just 3 M&S sandwiches. I wouldn’t have been so disappointed but I’d heard the Costa ones were great

I got a £3 bag from a local social enterprise. It was much better than I expected.

Im going to make pasta for dinner using the box of cooked veg as the basis for the sauce.

Was hoping to pick up something that would do 3-4 meals coz I can’t contemplate cooking in this heat, but this feels a bit stingy!

We got a good one from Pret the other night - 2 meatball wraps, a Mac and cheese and a pot of soup. That was the evening sorted out!

I ordered one for the first time the other week and forgot to bloody collect it! I’ve just checked again tonight and got 2 collections at 2 different One Stops and a Costa for tomorrow evening. I hope I get a good haul!

How much did that cost, @dizzyupthegirl86 ?

It was 3.59. If I’m being fair, it does exceed the 10.00 value it’s meant to, but it just felt stingy compared to what they normally put in there. It’s five minutes drive from my house, so it’s a really easy option when I’m feeling lazy!

I’m collecting my bags tonight, can anyone tell me what you do? I’ve got One Stop and Costa Drive through. Do I just go to the counter and say I’m there to collect a magic bag? And the same at the drive through window?

For my Costa the drive through was closed so I had to go inside. I said I was there to collect a magic bag and she said "oh brilliant" and went to fetch it. She asked me to open the app swipe it (maybe click) on the app to say it was collected and then show her the confirmation.

Thanks @chiffchaffchiff i get super anxious doing things for the first time! I like to know what will happen. The drive through says it’s open until 11 but the actual shop closes earlier so I think i just go to the speaker thing!

Yy I go in and say I'm collecting a magic bag. Show them the app press collect I think it is then swipe in front of staff to say you've got it.
