New thread for sharing Gousto recipes

I enjoyed the last Gousto thread but it seems to have disappeared so thought I would start a new one.
Anyone had a box this week?
I have had the Goan style basa and spinach curry which was really good. Also had the pork with bubble and squeak mash and the sesame hoisin chicken. All have been lovely so far. Just the Thai red curry to go now which I am looking forward to.

We have just had the king prawn chow mein. So tasty and really quick to whip up. My boys said it tasted better than the Chinese takeaway!

I’ll give that one a go if it’s an option next time.

We had black bean & pineapple tacos tonight. Tasty & fun although DP said to me “you’re not a dainty eater, are you?”

Rest of this week:
Lebanese rice and crispy fish
Glamorgan patties
Veg skewers with satay sauce

Oh we had the chicken and pineapple tacos last night - they were really tasty! 😋
Crab linguine tomorrow.

Garlic chilli chicken and sesame veg last night, really nice.
King prawn biryani tonight, was ok

Will look out for the garlic chilli chicken next time.

We had the fiery crab and fennel linguine tonight, only there wasn’t any fennel! It was fiery though. Maybe I shouldn’t have added all the chilli flakes as was very spicy and my DH even got a chilli flake stuck in his throat!

Sometimes I don’t recognise the recipes people have chosen, do you think they differ in areas or maybe I’m just not remembering them? We had some kind of veggie black bean burger tonight and it wasn’t very nice. It was really dry so I had to pile on the guacamole. Son said to never order again.

Oh it’s so disappointing when you have a meal you don’t enjoy isn’t it?

We have one of the pasta pronto meals to make tomorrow - it’s the tomato and bacon one. I am worried it won’t be enough for DH though as there seems very little pasta for 2 people.

I do wonder if options change. I just re-evaluated my choices for next week and changed them all, didn’t recognise the alternatives and they looked much tastier, I don’t know why I chose the first ones I did if the options haven’t changed over the last few weeks!

Just enjoying the Lebanese rice with crispy fish tonight. Very recommend! It would work just as well with tofu too.

Still not feeling the recipes lately, my last box was 20th february, and before that was 23rd jan! The recipes just aren’t appealing at the minute…!

I saw quite a few recipes I fancied for next week but we are away so couldn’t order. Have ordered the chicken schnitzel burger, the Indian spiced fish fingers, Sri Lankan chicken curry and pulled chicken & sweet potato chilli for the week we get back.

Had the one pot meatball and orzo dish last night. Was ok! Edible anyway

I had a one pot orzo thing while back, a veggie one, I found it tasty but happily ate both portions in one, there wasn’t enough of it! Normally I have one for dinner and one for lunch, if DP is on odd shifts so not around to share.

Just had the satay roast veg and coriander rice, very tasty, and I liked the satay sauce, very good.

We have just had the tomato and bacon pasta pronto dish. I added garlic bread thinking it wouldn’t be enough but it was surprisingly filling. It was nice enough but didn’t wow me.

Garlic and spinach gnocchi thing tonight. Lovely! Has mustard in though which DH didn't like... so leftovers for me

No Gousto box for us this week as we’re away. I quite liked a few of the meals available this week too.

I’m cooking the Glamorgan cheese & leek patties tonight, just paused slightly waiting for DP to get home. Having a mid-recipe doubt that the leeks they sent were MASSIVE so think there might be too much leek in the mix…..we’ll see!!! Trying to trust the process

Ok so they weren’t so much patties as a kinda hash…..tasty tho.

I’ve been doing Gousto for months, and have never managed to make any kind of fishcake or veggie burger type thing actually into a cohesive structure. Meat makes burgers fine. Everything else makes messy falling apart piles of (tasty) food.

Sure they tasted nice! I have never ordered fish cakes from Gousto.

What does everyone make of the new menu for the end of April?

I've just had a look and chosen lots of chicken things- the Singapore noodles, the Jamaican thing with rice, the Penang curry & the roast ginger & coconut chicken.
I think I'll love them all, and the kids won't.
Oh well.

This week we had the chicken and coconut pea-laf, and to my surprise the kids all loved it!

I loved the look of the Singapore noodles.
I have gone for the coronation chicken naanwich, the hot and sour prawn stir fry, the Moroccan cottage pie and the shredded chicken curry. Plenty of time for me to change my mind and swap recipes around though!

I have just received my Gousto box for this week. Has anyone else received a pack of salted caramel popcorn as a freebie this week?

The Mexican pulled chicken chilli was really tasty.
