I enjoyed the last Gousto thread but it seems to have disappeared so thought I would start a new one.
Anyone had a box this week?
I have had the Goan style basa and spinach curry which was really good. Also had the pork with bubble and squeak mash and the sesame hoisin chicken. All have been lovely so far. Smile Just the Thai red curry to go now which I am looking forward to.

We are having the beef goulash later. I whipped it up this morning and put it in the slow cooker. Smells good!

Goulash was really good. Easy to recreate too.
What’s everyone else having this week?

Just to let you all know, they have the free folders in stock again. I have just added one to next weeks order

Thanks I’ve just added one! Weirdly it didn’t come up in market place for the next order I can edit but it did for the one after 🤷🏻‍♀️

We had the herb crusted fish with romesco potatoes last night. Very nice. I might have added a bit more of a kick of chilli for me but OH appreciates the non-spiciness!

pinkchampagne1 · 19/03/2022 16:22

Glad you enjoyed the herb crusted fish. We still have that one to cook and I am looking forward to trying it.

Lime tofu with ginger sticky rice tonight. Very tasty, different flavours, and even fussy OH enjoyed it. Would recommend!

Not cooked the fish yet, covid got in the way so ate comfort food, tomorrow...

Wasn't impressed by the fish with sweet potatoes

We had the spiced sausage with creamy toadstool sauce with mushroom tortellini from the past pronto this evening.
Really quick and very tasty- def make again.
We had the beef goulash last night- loved that you fry it up and then hung it in the oven- liking the idea to put in the slow cooker when I recreate. We forget to have the sour cream so now need to think of a way to use that up!

Had fragrant Thai ref curry on Friday which was delicious and I will definitely be cooking again.

Toadstool sauce? Hope you’re ok 😯

pinkchampagne1 · 21/03/2022 19:44

We absolutely loved the herb crusted fish!

We had the sticky sesame beef stir fry tonight. It was delicious. We'll definitely make it again.

charliewoodstock · 22/03/2022 16:12

Lentil enchiladas last night were nicer than I expected!

pinkchampagne1 · 22/03/2022 16:42

I was tempted to order the sticky sesame beef stir fry but went for the tomato and bacon pasta instead.

We had the meat-free mince version of the sticky sesame/sweet chilli thing the other week, loved it - crispy shredded chilli beef is by go-to Chinese takeaway option, and this fitted that brilliantly, possibly all the better with the meat-free mince as it was easy to get it a bit crispy and the flavour is all the sauce anyway.

This week so far we’ve had the Cypriot Kebabs with sumac salad, proper yum, worth the the real beef, we both very much enjoyed those. Last night we had the Brazilian black bean & sweet potato stew, pictured, which was very very tasty and nice and colourful on the plate too, but very filling! Neither of us finished our portions despite really enjoying the taste. That’s definitely not like me. I think Gousto is training me in portion control.

I haven’t ordered any pasta dishes so far. I’m not sure why, I think I have a kinda snobby self-judgemental attitude that I shouldn’t need ‘help’ to do pasta! Although I’m happy to order noodle dishes 🤷🏻‍♀️.

We really liked the Cypriot kebabs too. Sticky beef looks really good too…wish I had opted for that now!

I am liking quite a few of the new menu choices that were released yesterday.

Does anyone else keep getting emails to say Gousto have had to swap ingredients due to supply issues?
This week they have swapped Garam Masala for Ground Cumin. Totally different ingredients!

OP posts:
LemonViolet · 24/03/2022 07:27

I did have an email to say they were swapping wholemeal pittas for wholemeal pittas from a different supplier, which I think was slightly unneccesary for me to know!

pinkchampagne1 · 24/03/2022 17:03

How bizarre! Grin

Has anyone had the chicken and butternut squash stew this week? I ordered it as thought it looked tasty but it is only getting 3.7 stars. Confused

OP posts:
charliewoodstock · 24/03/2022 22:59

We had the Brazilian stew tonight too and it was lovely. Really good!

pinkchampagne1 · 25/03/2022 20:21

We had the chicken & butternut squash stew tonight that I was worried about due to the 3.6 star reviews. Much as it wasn’t my favourite Gousto meal, it wasn’t bad either.

We have just had the king prawn chow mein. So tasty and really quick to whip up. My boys said it tasted better than the Chinese takeaway!
