New thread for sharing Gousto recipes

I enjoyed the last Gousto thread but it seems to have disappeared so thought I would start a new one.
Anyone had a box this week?
I have had the Goan style basa and spinach curry which was really good. Also had the pork with bubble and squeak mash and the sesame hoisin chicken. All have been lovely so far. Just the Thai red curry to go now which I am looking forward to.

I've got the beef ragu tortellini this week. I've had the Truffle Cacio E Pepe Sauce with Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli and the Tamarind, Chicken & Pea Curry so far this week. Both really tasty, but did the think the ravioli could have done with being a bigger portion, but then I am a pig. Basa tacos tonight.

CornishGem1975, what have you chosen from Hello Fresh?
I have ordered a Hello Fresh box to come in a couple of weeks. I like that they have sea bass recipes that don’t cost extra. All Gousto fish dishes seem to be basa unless you pay extra for salmon.

Made the fish tacos last night, they were really tasty but a bit of a faff so not sure I'd bother again.

We have the blacked chicken tacos with pineapple salsa coming in our next box. I hope they aren’t a faff to make!

Had beef empanadas. It now comes with salad leaves rather than baby gem lettuce which was disappointing as I don't think they go so well.
And the mayonnaise was vegan. Not sure why as it wasn't a vegan/vegetarian recipe.

Having chorizo & leek pasta tonight.

@poshme I've had a few occasions where they've sent vegan items for a non vegan meal. The other week I had vegan cheese (vile) on the pork and bean lettuce wraps.

Had the beef ragu tortellini last night which was nice but I did turn it into a bake and cover it in cheese!

@snaxinyourslacks ugh! I'd complain if I got vegan cheese with a meaty recipe- I had it once and it was gross.

I hope I don’t get vegan cheese with my order! I would definitely complain too.

Another week of disappointing recipe choices for me! The last box I had was 20th Feb and at the rate I’m going, I won’t be having any in March!

Is that for the choices for the last week in March? I must say that I wasn’t wowed by them either. I have a box coming next week but this week I am recreating some of our favourite Gousto and Hello Fresh meals.

Yeah that’s the one. I found two things I’d be interested in trying but the cost for just two meals hardly seems worth it. I’m going to stick to the ‘cleaning the freezer’ plan. She says, having just ordered a takeaway.

Oh, I found that week ok choice wise.
I chose on my first pass:
Veg satay skewers (vegan)
Lebanese rice and crispy fish
Baked crispy refried beans & pineapple salsa tacos (vegan)
Glamorgan sausages (veggie)

I was pleased with the variety of cuisines and some interesting techniques/new things for me to try. Some weeks it would be really easy to order four curries!

Last night I had Tofu Pad Prik King, and it was really lovely. I find Thai food quite comforting and homely as I spent a long time there.

I think tonight will either be the pulled aubergine tacos or the baked butternut squash biryani, depending on now I feel later.

I liked the look of the Lebanese rice with crispy fish. We have herb crusted fish with romesco potatoes and some blackened chicken tacos coming next week with a pineapple salsa which I am looking forward to trying.

What’s everyone got coming next week?
I have the blackened chicken tacos with pineapple salsa, the beef goulash, bang bang king prawns and the herb crusted fish with romesco potatoes and aioli.

We have the herby fish too, as well as the bean chilli, lime tofu with sticky ginger rice, and meat-free chicken chow mein.

The herby fish looks nice doesn’t it? I nearly went for the chow mein but decided to try the tacos instead.

We had tacos this week, with the smoky pulled aubergine. Which were quite nice, I liked the idea, I’d tweak the flavourings to be stronger next time, more of everything!

Aubergine tacos sound nice. We often tweak the recipes a little when we recreate.

I have just seen that the goulash I have coming next week only gets 3.5 stars. It is new and only has a couple of reviews so hoping it’s star rating improves as it’s too late for me to edit now!

Just had the butternut squash biryani. It’s really lovely, had it before, it’s really quick and simple to put together and then just cooks in the oven, voilá. Definitely recommend.

I am quite liking the look of a few of the Gousto recipes released today for the first week in April. Shame we are away that week so won’t be able to order a box.

I always look longingly at the butternut squash and aubergine recipes, but my DD refuses to eat them.

My boys (now both grown up) are so fussy that I have given up buying the boxes for 4 and just get the 2 person box for DH & myself.
Our box arrived today. Looking forward to trying this weeks meals.
