I’m going to do mine tomorrow. Feeling very fluffy after this week so looking forward to meals that don’t involve pringles!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/12/2020 09:43

We now have a fridge full of vegetables and fresh herbs. I feel better just looking at it!

Wednesday: pizza's
Thursday: a whole evening of champagne and appetizers
Friday: pie made from leftovers from Christmas + celeriac and potato puree
Saturday: sausages with steamed potatoes and red cabbage
Sunday: brie, apple and onion tart + salad

When I'm working, I usually prepare all my meals for the week ahead on Sunday so that I only need 15 minutes to reheat/finish our dinners.
So, for next week I´ve planned:
Monday: baked sweet potatoes filled with crispy bacon + a tahini sauce
Tuesday: fishcakes + green salad + croutons
Wednesday: Chili sin carne
Thursday: green hummus + crudites + hardboiled eggs + baguette
Friday: tagliatelle bolognaise

Everything is homemade from scratch.

Onelankwen · 30/12/2020 10:02

Oops, I did start new paragraphs but for some reason they don't show up

Superstardjs · 30/12/2020 12:26

Tonight - jacket potatoes with salad. Egg mayo for me, beans for dd.
Tomorrow- beige food and champagne.

NYD always seems to be soup, my body is ready for a bit of a detox by then. May do Asiany coconutty something or other.
Sunday- mushroom risotto with rocket salad. And food shopping to replenish the veg drawer and fruit bowl.

TOWGA · 30/12/2020 12:40

Here is ours for the week,

Tonight: fajitas
Tomorrow/: steak and dauphoise potatoes
Friday: garlic chicken
Saturday- healthy fish and chips
Sunday- pie, roasties and veg
Monday- chicken burgers and chips

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/12/2020 13:31

Towga - What is healthy fish and chips, please? I'm 'funny' about fish but do like 'proper' fish and chips!

One - what is green hummus?

I forgot that I'd also bought some ready made curries for NYE, if I'm not feeling like cooking.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie it's my first time doing it this week- it's a bbc recipe
www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/fish-chip-traybake/amp

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/12/2020 13:44

Thank you. Definitely couldn't eat that - can only cope with fish if covered in batter!Grin. Looks delicious for anybody not bloody difficult though!

Have you had the Bhorta before? Is it good? It looks strange but I really want to try it anyway Grin What do you serve it with?

Sorry for the million questions!

Lasagne
Chicken Tikka Kebab
Left overs
Shepherds pie
Katsudon
Frickadellen
Gnocchi with mozerella and bacon.

TOWGA · 30/12/2020 13:55

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie my husband is fussy with fish- so gonna try it and see if he likes it!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/12/2020 14:07

Not had the bhorta before, but have heard good things. I'm just going to do some chapatis with it, I think. Will report back.

Towga - let us know how it goes!

We are part way through our week already but:

Tuna jacket potatoes with salad
Fajitas (with leftover beef from Christmas)
Asian-style salmon with noodles and broccoli
Roasted cauliflower and carrots with "pilaf"
Thai-style beef salad
Chicken soup (sort of - red thai curry, coconut milk etc)
Shepherds pie (except I took the lamb out of the freezer and I'm not convinced it's enough so might make it tomorrow and mix with beef mince!)

SpaceOp · 30/12/2020 16:43

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie - I'm not sure this counts as "healthy" in the true sense of the word, but we do fried cod fairly often. Cod fillets, dipped in egg then flour then fried in about 1cm of cooking oil - at a about a medium heat. Turn after a few minutes when the "batter" is golden.

HowToSurviveChristmas · 30/12/2020 16:58

Veggie peanut stew
Roast tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh spinach
Veggie sausage cassoulet
Warm Butternut, edamame and feta salad
Chickpeas in tomato sauce with brown rice
Lentil bolognese with butterbeans
Working NYE so might treat myself to a higgedy pie Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/12/2020 18:43

Thanks, SpaceOp. I think 'unhealthy' and 'nearly burned' might be the only way I can cope with it!

JingleJohnsJulie · 30/12/2020 19:09

Just done an online shop for next week.

We'll be having:

Peanut butter chicken
Cornish Pasty Pie from a Pinch of Nom
Sticky Beef Burritos
Homemade Fish & Chips
Carbonara
Ginger Chicken Stir Fry (DD loves making this) and
Pizza

bluechameleon · 30/12/2020 19:16

Thu: Party food and ice cream sundaes.
Fri: spaghetti bolognese.
Sat: sea bass with Asian veg.
Sun: turkey curry.
Haven't got any further than that.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/12/2020 19:33

Just done the bhorta - verdict = nice flavours but I was a bit iffy about the mashed up fishfingers as it made them a bit soggy. Would have been nicer just chopped up and stirred with the other stuff, I think. Would definitely try it again but cook the fishfingers for even longer and not mash them.

I forgot the chapatis so we just had it on its own, but it did feel as if it needed something to go with it.

In no particular order:

  • Honey mustard salmon salad
  • Double baked potatoes with broccoli and cheese
  • Turkey chilli with sweet potato jackets
  • Chicken casserole and rice
  • some sort of slow cooker stew...not decided what yet
  • homemade pizza
WonderOnTheUp · 30/12/2020 21:12

In no particular order, it depends what I feel like at the time but I’ve got the ingredients to make these:
Aubergine parmigiana
Cauliflower cheese
Cauliflower soup (bought too many cauliflowers!)
Courgette and spinach lasagne
Frittata
Jacket potatoes, cheese and coleslaw
Cold meat, salad and jacket potatoes

CC2021 · 31/12/2020 14:00

We are just getting back into meal planning as trying to save money so keep grocery shopping focused.

Plan for the next week is:
Lasagna and garlic bread
Spaghetti bolognese (basically leftovers from the lasagna sauce)
Gammon joint - will do 3 nights with new potatoes and roasted veg / rice and veg / chips
Chicken tray bake
Beef goulash

MirandaMarple · 31/12/2020 16:18

Tonight - mussels in cider, homemade ravioli with crab
Tomorrow - mackerel and horseradish on sourdough, steak

Need to go as far as I can into next week with what's in the freezer/fridge so I can get back into a Friday shop

So far I've got
Mozzarella and roasted veg tart
Roast chicken
Beef mince
Daal and Bombay potatoes
Pasta with a tomato and chilli sauce
Mac n cheese, salad
