Butterscotch Angel Delight!

I'm obviously having some sort of sentimental moment, and took an urge for it. I might even make it in a plastic jug á la my DMum circa 1988.

My aunt used to give me a bowl of butterscotch Angel Delight and, instead of a spoon, a Twix to eat it with 😍. She was a wonderful woman.

Angel Delight is still pretty good, but I think they're less sugary than they used to be, unfortunately.

I bought some today for the first time in ages after requests from the dc. I've crushed some digestives, mixed with melted butter and lined a cake tin. Then angel delight on top and crushed flake as topping. It takes me back to my childhood.

I love the mint chocolate one and buy it for me the DCs.

DH treated me to a chocolate-nut vienetta in xxl size.
The correct portion size of a 'normal' vienetta is 50% each so I've no idea how much bigger this xxl one is. I suppose we could eat a quarter each and save half for tomorrow...?

I interchange pudding and dessert. Both are infinitely better than "sweet"

Butterscotch angel delight is amazing.

Oh I haven't had angel delight in years. We used to get in school with chocolate strands on top , and at home mum would cover it in thick cream with hundreds and thousands.

Best thing I ever made at school which was pretty similar was called lemon ginger crunch- ginger biscuit base topped with bananas and then with dream topping/ lemon yogurt mix , decorated with crystallised fruits. It tasted weirdly divine.

I love the butterscotch angel delight. In an otherwise boringly healthy diet, it is my secret vice.

I made cheesecake with that stuff, it was wonderful. I read somewhere that it's Simon Cowells favourite treat, the butterscotch angel delight, not the cheesecake.

I got overly excited.

I had it for the first time since childhood about 6 years ago and had a bloody allergic reaction ! Was gutted. Have fond memories of my DB being home angel delight flans from home ec classes.

Was the stuff called Dream Topping that went with it?
