Can't believe I've never tried this before! It's lovely and doesn't taste dairy free (it's the creamy garlic and herb). What vegan foods do you all love Smile

Yes it's vegan, was recommended to me at Christmas on here Smile. I'm not on Facebook, I've heard of Aquafaba but too scared to try anything Confused

Oh blast, thank you ItsAll, do you know which ones aren't?

The aquafaba butter and mayo are really easy, I haven't been brave enough to try anything else though. Have you tried jackfruit 'pulled pork'? I've never actually had pulled pork so can't say how similar it is, but it's really easy to cook and a nice alternative to the ready made fake meat stuff.

I haven't tried jackfruit, but I had a seitan burger at a vegan fayre. Linda McCartney do a shredded duck in hoisin and shredded chicken both are vegan and very nice.

Will have to check the Linda McCartney ones out, I've never heard of them, so much vegan stuff available these days!

The Jus Rol Pain au Raisin has milk in, not sure about others.

Couldren's new vegan sausages, cut up into pasta with tinned tomatoes, sacla free from pesto and Sainsbury's grated vegan cheese is an EXCELLENT meal Grin The sausages are Mediterranean so go beautifully with the other flavours.

"Can't believe no-one has mentioned oreos or Vego bars yet"

Or Bourbon biscuits, Lotus original caramelised biscuits or Party Rings. DD really liked the Linda McCartney "pulled pork" burger BTW.

Can you only get aquafaba by draining a tin of chickpeas? Is there not some on its own available commercially?

Tons of things but my favourite, because the name makes me smile, is tofurkey. It's a kind of sausage.

We tried the Tofurkey bacon this weekend. I won't be buying it again. It tastes OKish, but has an odd texture.

Seitan- buy it in cans of mock duck at the Chinese supermarket.

Seasoned, baked, shredded and combined with pancakes, hoisin sauce and veg makes a pretty tasty duckless pancake.

No moo piquant thinly sliced on crackers

Forgot to say the tofu from Chinese supermarkets is much better than the stuff you get in Tesco. Does need pressing though.

Tofu jerky is also indistinguishable from the real thing.

Soyatoo rice/soya whip makes for a passable squirty cream alternative

Wow so much I've not heard of. The Linda McCartney pulled pork burgers are not vegan though as I'm pretty sure they contain honey.
I'm seriously hungry now Grin

Nothing new to add, but seconding garlic & herb sheese as the closest cream cheese replacement I've had! Delicious. Also oatly creme fraiche in place of sour cream, perfect texture and taste.

It's lovely isn't it, I tried it yesterday for the first time it really doesn't taste dairy free. Have you tried the other flavours? I'm wondering if you could make a cheesecake with the original?

Pulled pork burgers are not vegan sadly.
Not all Oreo flavours are, so be sure to check!
I've done jackfruit with BBQ. It's nice enough, I've never eaten pulled pork, or any meat really, so don't know how similar it is. The only problem is it's not filling at all. Good as part of a full plate but not a meal in its own right.

Twiglets are delicious!

I put the violife for pizza cheese on my home made pizza on Friday. I was amazed it goes melty and everything. I'm going to be buying that regularly!

Taifun tofu is the best, especially the smoked with almonds and sesame seeds in it.

And I am addicted to alpro caramel puddings.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't even tried doing aquafaba yet despite eating a fair few tinned chick peas...

Cashew nuts soaked can be a good cheesecake topping. It's not perfect, but it's not too bad!

I've never been a twiglet fan but Texas bbq Pringles are labelled vegan. I last ate meat when I was 7 then I gave up fish when I was 10 when my mother finally gave in. but the only meat she ever let us have was chicken (roasted with a dinner or in soup). So I've nothing to compare meat alternative products with except each individual brand. I love frys hot dogs with caramelised onions in a baguette.

Tried the plain cream sheese a while ago and don't remember liking it that much, I think the texture was correct but taste not. But, I imagine it could work well in a cheesecake if flavoured nicely!

Oh, and mozzerisella is good at actually melting on a pizza - it's what they use on the vegan pizzas at Zizzi.

I don't have any Chinese supermarkets near me, but I love the crispy tofu when I can get to one.

Alpro custard in the tetra pack is lovely, tastes just like dairy custard and great on Apple crumble

Violife cheeses are game changers for me! Also booja booja ice cream and truffles. There's a new yoghurt out that's from almond milk as I avoid soya called Nush which is awesome. Seggiano do incredible raw pesto, a few different flavours. They're the only company I like the pesto of. And yes to coconut collaborative chocolate pots!
