I'd be really grateful if you lot would critique our dinner tonight, to see how healthy/nutritious it is.

Each plate had:

55g rump steak
2 X baby potatoes roasted in olive oil
1/4 pink onion, roasted with pots
60g champignons, sautéed in butter
130g mixed salad
10g crispy noodles (on salad)
Approx 3tbsp mustard gravy, made with steak juices, tbsp wholegrain mustard, and a few gravy granules

Now Brillo, you could feed the Olympic athlete's village with that meal! For a week.

snorepatrol · 29/06/2016 15:49

Brillo I can't grasp how big your meal is without a teaspoon for comparison. For all we know it could be on a tiny plate! Grin

I love this thread!

FeckinCrutches · 29/06/2016 15:59

Let's look at some more evidence. (It's raining and I have nothing to do)
No champignons in my fridge so I've used grapes to represent a tiny button mushroom. And Tesco value noodles for crispy ones.

SnotGoblin · 29/06/2016 16:02

Ann odd combination of small portions served by someone who seems to have food issues is my critique. That's probably not what you were after though hey?

IHaveBrilloHair · 29/06/2016 16:03

The steak

MitzyLeFrouf · 29/06/2016 16:03

Teaspoon With Grapes, A Study In Silver And Green (2016) is my favourite.

FeckinCrutches · 29/06/2016 16:05

I had to take it at angle so you couldn't see my gurning upside down face.

IHaveBrilloHair · 29/06/2016 16:06

Oh arse, the link went shit, but it was a big bone anyway

MitzyLeFrouf · 29/06/2016 16:07

I love the juxtaposition between the pastoral and the industrial in the teaspoon with salad piece.

A very moving comment on globalisation.

KoalaDownUnder · 29/06/2016 16:08

I found the teaspoon lying insouciantly on a bed of greens quite...compelling.

I do think you have an 'eye' for food photography, Feckin. Something to consider, perhaps?

IHaveBrilloHair · 29/06/2016 16:08

T-bone ffs, I wouldn't serve up just bone anymore than I would a midget steak.
I wonder if I can find the monster mixed grill photo....

KoalaDownUnder · 29/06/2016 16:09

Cross-post with Mitzy - great critics think alike, I see!

hownottofuckup · 29/06/2016 16:15

Funniest thread I've read in a while.

I can see your potatoes OP, they seem a decent size too.

FeckinCrutches · 29/06/2016 16:15

That's what I was aiming for Mitzy...
Maybe Koala...I do take pictures of my dinner all the time Grin

SantanaBinLorry · 29/06/2016 16:17

FeckinCrutches · 29/06/2016 16:21

I see OP's potato pictures now!

FeckinCrutches · 29/06/2016 16:22

For the love of God does anyone have a pink onion?! Is that red? Or a shallot?

SestraClone · 29/06/2016 16:23
SestraClone · 29/06/2016 16:24

Google says that pink onions are just plain old red ones.

KoalaDownUnder · 29/06/2016 16:29

I present to you: 'Still Life of Half* Australian Red Onion with Australian Teaspoon'

(*That's all I had in the fridge)
