So.... Is anyone interested in a thread where we all say what we are having for tea / dinner depending on where you live, and I can steal your lovely ideas. Hopefully we could share ideas?
We are having turkey burgers in buns with corn on the cob and salad tonight, homemade pizza tomorrow.

Remus, just had to google pink pickled onions! They look delicious; am going to give them a go. I love all things pickled.

MyBreadIsEggy · 23/06/2016 15:10

My car has been in the garage all week, and I'm now at the point where I really really need to go grocery shopping....so meal options are limited. Tonight it's leftover bolognese from the freezer!

HeckyWithTheGoodBear · 23/06/2016 15:23

Yesterday we had individual beef wellingtons, garlic roasties, cauliflower cheese, asparagus, tenderstem brocolli and Spring greens with a red wine gravy. Baby DD had roast chicken instead with all the trimmings.

Chinese at DMs tonight Grin

Palomb · 23/06/2016 16:45

Keema with rice and chapattis. One of my absolute favourite dinners.

IHaveBrilloHair · 23/06/2016 17:37

Ive made a wedge salad with blue cheese dressing and walnuts.
Later I'll snack on crisps and a chocolate trifle.

MelanieCheeks · 23/06/2016 19:52

Use it up, wear it out night before shopping tomorrow.

Cauliflower cheese - DH found a recipe online with a topping of chunky breadcrumbs and walnuts, so we approximated that. If I were doing it again (and I so would) I'd add blue cheese to the sauce.

With crispy parma ham and black pudding.

Caramelised onion and roast pepper fajitas with tortilla chips and salsa ala DP

CaptainWarbeck · 24/06/2016 13:07

Takeaway pizza and copious wine!!

MotherofPearl · 24/06/2016 15:11

I know this is not a political thread, but I had planned steak for dinner tonight, and cracking open a bottle of prosecco to celebrate a Remain victory. Now it's bread and water I reckon. May as well get used to it I guess. Confused

MyBreadIsEggy · 24/06/2016 16:39

A huge, crispy, greasy plateful of fish and chips tonight!!

dementedma · 24/06/2016 20:28

Too tired to cook so a plate of ham, cheese, coleslaw and hummous, washed down with lots of red wine. And cake.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 27/06/2016 17:35

Quesadillas, wedges, salad for us tonight. (I refuse to let this thread die - it's been great for ideas!)

SlimCheesy2 · 27/06/2016 19:37

We had Japanese style greens with sticky rice. Basically a sauce made of miso, mirin, sugar, chilli and rice wine vinegar. Stir fry broccoli cabbage and pak choi, add sauce and serve over brown rice.

Very worthy. Quite tasty.

Last night were chicken skewers with vegetables.

insan1tyscartching · 27/06/2016 19:48

We had mushroom omelette with a salad mostly because it's been a busy day and I didn't feel much like cooking.

fluffyjumper123 · 27/06/2016 20:28

Tonight was spent using up last of veg/meat in fridge before delivery tomorrow. Chicken pre-boiled in chicken stock and juices + soy sauce, garlic and chilli added to bake in oven (this is pre-cooked obviously)

A 'tea tonight?' thread anyone?
SlimCheesy2 · 27/06/2016 20:49

God, I am so craving a cheese and mushroom omelette now. Maybe that will be tomorrow. (The greens were good but had no heft).

UnderDeck3 · 28/06/2016 12:10

We had channa samosa chaat ( squashed samosas and chickpeas covered with chopped onion and tomato, and 3 different kinds of Indian chutneys - YUM ) and chicken madras. And poppadoms. obvs.

Allalonenow · 28/06/2016 22:13

Crispy Parma ham, black pudding and cauliflower cheese is pure genius, I will soooo be making that!

And I'm liking squashed samosas too! That's just away of using up extra samosas? I was reading an article recently about the history of the world explained in samosas.

I had pasta Alfredo tonight, a real end of the month meal. Chicken pieces from the freezer, I usually have some of those, as it's a shame to throw out the remains of a roast chicken when a bit of inspiration can make a meal from it.

Allalonenow · 28/06/2016 22:16

The squashed samosas onion and tomato, is that fried and served hot, or cold like a salad without boring lettuce?

SlimCheesy2 · 29/06/2016 11:40

We are having hummus pizzas tonight. I know it sounds ghastly. :) It is just sun-dried tomato hummus, topped with sliced tomatos, peppers and black olives on top of a tortilla wrap and bunged in the oven. DS will have a smattering of cheese and sans olives as well. I am trying to fit more veg into our dishes and DS will eat almost anything if he thinks it is pizza.

bookbook · 29/06/2016 11:44

I have just been and picked broad beans, spinach and the first peas. ( I have an allotment) So I am going to make a risotto with those, and bake a camembert to go with it

prettywhiteguitar · 29/06/2016 11:50

This is a great thread, given me lots of fresh ideas !

Dc are finally out of the phase of needing children's food so had haddock and prawns with olive oil, chopped vine tomatoes and very finely sliced red onion. It was cooked on the salad dressing I had made for my lunch which was garlic, honey and olive oil. Served with vegetable rice. They said it was the best fish ever, which was very cute.

prettywhiteguitar · 29/06/2016 11:51

Ooh the tortilla wrap pizza sounds good for mine, they love them, might have to use that tonight.

insan1tyscartching · 29/06/2016 12:02

Steak and ale pie and veg here tonight undecided as to whether to serve it with chips or new potatoes though. It's cold, wet and dark here today so comfort food is very much needed.

CocktailQueen · 29/06/2016 12:06

Baked chicken breast stuffed with pesto and wrapped in parma ham

baked potatoes stuffed with cheese and spring onions

mixed bean salad
