A 'tea tonight?' thread anyone?

So.... Is anyone interested in a thread where we all say what we are having for tea / dinner depending on where you live, and I can steal your lovely ideas. Hopefully we could share ideas?
We are having turkey burgers in buns with corn on the cob and salad tonight, homemade pizza tomorrow.

We had boring spag bol last night.

Tonight is homemade quiche (cheese & caramelised onion) with 'nice' bread and beetroot salad (beetroot, red onion, cucumber, lemon, flat leaf parsley) or what I call 'toddler salad' for dd2 (19 but not a salad lover, so she gets sliced peppers, cucumber, carrots, cheery toms etc).

OhHolyFuck · 21/06/2016 17:04

Had sausages and cauliflower mash, was nice, comfort food

ScrambledSmegs · 21/06/2016 17:12

How can spag bol be boring? I love a good ragu, although I prefer it with tagliatelle. The DCs have spaghetti as they're pretty young and DC1 is funny about anything that isn't spaghetti or fusilli.

We're having a pasta dish tonight - spaghetti with lime, rocket, chilli, garlic, parma ham and marinated feta. Sounds like the weirdest combination ever. Is actually sublime. DH's favourite pasta dish in fact.

Of course DCs won't eat it so they're having pasta with tomato sauce (and hidden veg but we don't mention that) and broccoli. I love this age and wouldn't wish away this time for anything but can't wait until we're over the 'I don't like it' without even trying bit Hmm.

We have got Maggi steam bag paprika chicken with potato wedges and cabbage tonight.

MotherofPearl · 21/06/2016 18:50

Scrambled, that pasta dish sounds delicious! I'm always on the look out for new pasta dishes - would you care to post the recipe? Especially what the feta is marinated in.

Howaboutthisone · 21/06/2016 18:54

Chicken, prawn and chorizo stir fry type thing. Might have with Mexican rice (microwave!) or on its own.

Allalonenow · 21/06/2016 18:57

Tonight I'm having melon and parma ham, then tagliatelli with ragu, there may be a G&T beforehand too. Wine

Scribblegirl · 21/06/2016 18:57

Chicken wrapped in bacon, new potatoes and some sort of green stuff as yet to be decided.

DP and I adore cooking but are staying at my parents' while we are between houses. DM is cooking every night - which is lovely of her, but I so miss getting to pick dinner!!

dementedma · 21/06/2016 19:00

Raided the fridge and leftovers. Had fried mushrooms and tomatoes, with baked beans, fried egg and toast. Delicious!

ScrambledSmegs · 21/06/2016 19:14

MoPearl, it's a Donna Hay recipe so the feta is some fancy deli-style feta. However you can either use those Apetina snack pots with garlic and oil, or make your own using a block of feta which is much tastier, especially as you drizzle the oil over the pasta at the end. There are loads of recipes on the internet, my personal one is basically this although I omit the chilli. I sometimes fling in a peeled garlic clove or two despite the dire warning and haven't died yet. I remove them after a few days if keeping it though. It's also gorgeous just eaten with bread!

I also omit the capers (I don't feel they add much) but use 2 chillis in the pasta recipe. Plus serve with extra lime wedges to squeeze over at the table. Pure food bliss.

MotherofPearl · 21/06/2016 19:53

Thanks Scrambled, have added the ingredients to my Friday online food order. Smile

Last night was this www.greenkitchenstories.com/herb-pistachio-falafel/

Hobblethwaite · 22/06/2016 00:55

Steak egg and spinach salad, with feta and olives. Loved it!

A 'tea tonight?' thread anyone?
SlimCheesy2 · 22/06/2016 10:16

Can I join please??!! That looks amazing hobblethwaite.

We are having cheesy vegetable pancakes and green beans.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 22/06/2016 11:03

Veg lasagne and garlic bread last night - never made a lasagne before, it worked out brill and was lush! Was v relieved.
Tonight it's either spaghetti with some form of tomato base, or baked potatoes, beans and cheese. Depends how lazy I'm feeling later!

lastqueenofscotland · 22/06/2016 12:03

Making orzo "paella" with chickpeas and olives later.

newpup · 22/06/2016 13:00

Stir fry to use up the leftover beef from the weekend using a lean in 15 recipe, it is delicious! DDs having baked macaroni cheese earlier as they are both out this evening, DH and I will have ours while they are out with a nice glass of red.

Pudding will be strawberries and cream for all of us when the DDs return home.

Bombaybunty · 22/06/2016 13:07

Lamb chops, rosemary roasted potatoes and cavolo nero (trying to be more original with the veg option!).
Watermelon slices for pudding!

MotherofPearl · 22/06/2016 13:23

Tonight we're having pea and broad bean risotto with a green salad. Homemade lemon drizzle cake afterwards (on maternity leave so enjoying having the time to bake).

lastqueenofscotland · 22/06/2016 13:30

Change of plan, orzo thing tomorrow pea and mushroom pearl barley risotto tonight

CaptainWarbeck · 22/06/2016 13:48

Spanish tortilla and baked beans with broccoli on the side.

SlimCheesy2 · 22/06/2016 14:24

change of plan for us too. Chicken and leeks en croute (on special at Aldi!) with green beans and sweetcorn.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/06/2016 17:51

MotherofPearl That all sounds gorgeous. I adore broad beans, but nobody else in the house will eat them!

Black bean soup here, with nachos, guac, salsa and pink pickled onions. Sounds like a faff but it's all pretty easy, other than copious amounts of chopping!

SlimCheesy2 · 23/06/2016 10:43

Black bean soup sounds very good remus.

Vegetarian fajitas here tonight.

CaptainWarbeck · 23/06/2016 13:28

Cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire puddings and veggie pastry plait things.
