So.... Is anyone interested in a thread where we all say what we are having for tea / dinner depending on where you live, and I can steal your lovely ideas. Hopefully we could share ideas?
We are having turkey burgers in buns with corn on the cob and salad tonight, homemade pizza tomorrow.

Pie, mash and peas.

Feel the need for so,e serious comfort food today :(

Hopelass · 20/06/2016 14:53

Chilli and brown rice. Done a massive batch of chilli in the slow cooker that'll do for around 5-6 meals over the next few months.

Ive just made a Thai Green Curry from scratch. It was my first time and its turned out really well. It has chicken, baby aubergine, mini corn on the cob, mange tout, and mushrooms in it.

Im really blooming surprised by it to be honest. Its very much the real deal.

Are you ok?

Hopelass · 20/06/2016 15:06

That sounds good tattie I love a good Thai curry. I made one last week but it was too spicy Sadmy own fault because I put too much paste in. I'd love to try doing one from scratch though.

Palomb · 20/06/2016 15:09

Yes Tatty thank you for asking thoughFlowers

(Period from hell, some horrible achey leg virus and this bloody weather!!)

MyBreadIsEggy · 20/06/2016 15:11

I have just put a huge lamb casserole in the oven.
Onions, carrots, leeks, potato, mushrooms and big hunks of lamb leg steak, swimming in proper gravy Grin ultimate comfort food Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/06/2016 16:45

Cheaty gammon roast today, I cooked a huge gammon and this is the first meal from it, everything else is from the freezer/packets/tins

FourForYouGlenCoco · 20/06/2016 17:25

Burritos here, with extra halloumi, and a big salad to go with. Replicating my Isle of Wight festival diet GrinGrin

Howaboutthisone · 20/06/2016 20:30

Bolognaise today. I made a big vat of it last week so it was a nice, easy meal tonight as I actually remembered to defrost some!

AlwaysWashing · 20/06/2016 21:03

Roast chicken and homemade rainbow pasta salad (red peppers, grated carrot, yellow pepper, broccoli, green beans - nothing blue - purple/red onions!) lots of fresh herbs & a Greek yog/garlic/lemon juice dressing.

Tomorrow salmon, roasted veg & herby rice.

lastqueenofscotland · 20/06/2016 21:48

Did a sweet potato, lentil, spinach curry. Was amazing

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/06/2016 21:59

It's curry night here tomorrow Lastqueen
I've already made a beetroot Dahl, and will do paneer and spinach dish, plus bits and bobs.

Allalonenow · 20/06/2016 22:01

I made a delicious mushroom risotto tonight.

I remember many years ago the first time I made a mushroom risotto, I'd gone to so much trouble, Dad sent me the right rice from a Soho shop, I had the white wine, the hot stock, the parmesan...
ExH poked it about a bit and asked where the meat was.
Errr, it's mushroom risotto Hmm

MyBreadIsEggy · 21/06/2016 11:48

I've got some tuna steaks for tonight, but have no idea what to serve with them Hmm what would you fancy with pan-seared tuna steak??

purpleviolet1 · 21/06/2016 12:50

Chicken mushroom pie here (with leeks and peppers). Forgot to pick up some garlic bread :(

lastqueenofscotland · 21/06/2016 13:01

Mybread - I don't eat it but my sister does it with a Thai style salad

Dhal, and some rice on the side. Or perhaps some pitta bread and a spoonful of yoghurt.

Honestly it was fabulous and so easy to make from scratch. Nigel Slater does a nice recipe of the past as does Jamie.

bookbook · 21/06/2016 13:08

bought some wild sea trout, this morning so going to bake that in foil with dill, lemon, butter and vermouth. New potatoes and green beans.
MyBreadIsEggy - my favourite way is to make it into a ' burger' - good ciabatta bun with sliced tomato .

lastqueenofscotland · 21/06/2016 13:10

Tonight I'm having Green veg stirfry with rice noodles as I need something quick

HyacinthBouquetNo1 · 21/06/2016 13:12

Had a filling today so tea will be baked potato with tuna mayo in, something soft and mushy, might not eat the skin.

MyBreadIsEggy · 21/06/2016 13:12

Hmmm..... Difficult!!
I've just been to the shop to see what veggies and stuff they had (they get deliveries of different things from a farm a few times a week) and came home with some baby new potatoes, green beans and tenderstem broccoli.
Now debating whether to make potato salad, steam the potatoes with the beans and broccoli, or roast them in olive oil with some Mediterranean veg I've found in the freezer Hmm

MotherofPearl · 21/06/2016 13:29

MyBread, my vote is for potato salad!
We're having a very boring spag bol tonight.
